  • Excellent movie.

  • Could call this a Directors cut Trailer?

  • Nice job. Thanks for introducing me to Thomas Bergersen.

  • Ugh! YouTube fights! >.<

  • this movie was a good start. i'm worried about the second though.

  • This move is a good movie, and critics and audiences(who aren't TOS purists) said so. It's not the Star Trek we're used to, but it has emotion, morals, character development, and effects that put TOS to shame. Even the fight choreography is better, no double-fisted punch crap.

  • @MrImastinker Emotion? Yes, from none emotional races. Morals, like pissing on everyone who gets in your way will get you what you want? Yes BAD morals. Character development, like turning Kirk from a kind caring hard working leader, to a selfish brat who only cares about himself & his Obi-wan, or Spock being an emotional pussy, Scotty an ass hole, ect..? The Effects were better than TOS? DU, TOS was in 1966 AD(BC). So, you like to watch Men slapping like kids instead of true fist fighting.

  • The barfight sure wasn't slapping like little kids, those were some pretty brutal punches. Sure, I think that Kirk's potrayal in this movie was annoying at times, and Scotty was a jerk. But I don't start blowing it out of proportion. The moral I was talking about was for Spock's story, such as relying on logic but also using you heart.

The movie wasn't perfect, but saying it was the worst is, as I already said, blowing it out of proportion. Critics praised it, moviegoers did too.

  • @MrImastinker The Barfight in the movie was stupid and pointless. It looked like every dam bar fight that was overdone in movies and TV in the 2000's. You could even see them pull their punches. Annoying at times? Try all the time. Spock only relied on logic once in the movie and that was used by the writers just to give him an excuse to through Kirk off the ship. Did you even see "Plan 9 from outer Space"? It's declared as the worst movie ever made and it's better than the new Trek.

  • @MrImastinker Critics also praised Titanic and it’s a BAD movie! It was proven latter that the critics were paid to like Titanic. Movie goers who liked ST XI liked it because it was FLASH BANG and had the Star Trek name to it. They could have filmed 2 hours of 3D fireworks and named it Star Trek and it still would be loved by them. What makes a good movie is staying power. Movies like Casablanca, 2001 and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn. All solid stories, all with hero’s we can relate too.

  • @MrImastinker. Note: (BC) means Before Computers.

  • @Trekfreek Gotcha.

  • @MrImastinker Oh...No you haven't! "The game's not over” (Kahn) “to the last I will grapple with thee” (Captain Ahab).

  • @Trekfreek What I meant by 'gotcha' was that I understood what you mean by B.C. If we really can't come to an agreement about the new Star Trek, then I guess we could just agree to disagree.

But I do admit, Wrath of Khan was way better.

  • The theme music is called "Freedom Fighters" from the music trailer company Two Steps From Hell from their CD release Invincible (which can be bought on iTunes)... The Composer is Thomas Bergersen =)

  • Well I'm not asking for it to tell me the whole story and movie like crappy trailers do. I just think it could've explained the premise a bit better... I want to see the film on filmsi.co.cc, but I just think they could've explained it a bit more.

  • what song was that in the end when they showed the star trek tittle ?

  • @klpeekl2000 Only a stupid person would think mindless action and over the top FX, makes for good movies. But plot, with hart and substance makes for bad movies; just because it makes the movie "boring as shit". Here is a list of boring movies for people like you; Casablanca, Laurence of Arabia, 2001 a Space Odyssey, THX 1138, & Schindler's list. Just because it is slow does not make it bad. Real Trek was about the human condition this new one is a Saturday morning cartoon.

  • @BondFreek Cry me a river, old man. I'd take this "saturday morning cartoon" over the last few Star Trek films any day. Hell, the (real) tralier for this film with "Freedom Fighters" is better than the whole of Nemesis and Insurrection put together. First Contact was the last good "old" Trek film made.

  • @Renji1 "Cry me a river" No thanks, it looks like the one you cried for yourself is deep enough. Try using your "little gray cells" (Inspector Poirot) when watching a Star Trek movie; you might be surprised how bad the new Trek really is.

  • @BondFreek Where did I say I was upset? I don't know about you, but I really have no reason to be shedding tears over this. In fact, on the contrary, I couldn't be happier. Happy in knowing that this film annoys you this much that even nearly two years on, you still feel the need to jump onto youtube and post negative comments about it. I know I'm looking forward to the next film. How about you?

  • @Renji1 See! You are upset. You are angry with anyone who hates this film. Now THAT's REALLY pathetic! The new movie is a bad film but there are thousands of bad films out there that are smash hits. Just shows that being smart and wise is a rare privilege.

  • @BondFreek Actually, I'm just angry with you. Angry with you and your myopic mentality that can't seem to fathom the concept that someone else might have a differing opinion to you regarding this film. Also, answer me this. What actually brought you here? What actually brings a person to look up the trailer of a film they don't like? Apart the purpose of trolling, of course.

  • @Renji1 LOL! You're funny! I have said many times, that others can like bad films. Other people can have their opposing opinions, I just expect people to back up their opinions with facts. Facts like story arks, plot points, moral point, and story points that would fit in the real world. The reason I'm so hard nose about this particular film should be obvious, I'm a Trek freak; that is why I call myself Trekfreek. This movie is not just a BAD movie, it also an insult to all things Trek.

  • @BondFreek THX 1138, & Schindler's list suck

  • @mindarinas "THX 1138, & Schindler's list suck" I rest my case.

  • @BondFreek Schidlers list jew propagamda with moral that world is white and black

  • @mindarinas The world is Black and white, only people who ware blinders see gray because the black and white blur into gray in their eyes. Also, it is more than just “propaganda" the Jews really did go though the hell shown in the movie and worst!

  • @BondFreek The world is Black and white? Movies like Schindler's list have brainwashed you, congratulations!

  • @mindarinas You're young still, if you ever grow up you will learn the truth. Whether or not you accept the truth is another thing.

  • @mindarinas Says the bigoted idiot who can't even spell or use proper grammar.

  • @F14ace ironically you can't spell toironically you can't spell to

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! <3

  • Every time I see this trailer I wanna go watch the movie again. :)

  • when they make star trek in a series again?

  • Worst movie EVER! And I don't mean just the Star Trek ones.

  • @Potrimpo Contrary to what you think the new Trek fails to fit into the Trek universes. If you want a "what next Adventure with a younger version of the original cast just make a new story that takes place between TOS and The Motion Picture, preferably written by DC Fontana and David Gerald. I may not like Star Trek: New Voyages "Blood and Fire" but at least it's Star Trek in every sense of the name. The new Film is Star Wars with lines from ST:TWOK & ST:TOS.

  • @Potrimpo Hate? HAhahaha..... I'm not the one who is insulting people who disagree with me. Do I hate this movie? Yes, but not for the reasons you think. Star Trek always had Adventure, not a sense of adventure but Real Adventure. But that was only the tool to tell a point of view. Good Star Trek, yes even just good sci-fi, has a point to it be it political, moral or religious. An example of Good Sci-Fi is the new Tron; It is consistent with the original Tron's techno and touches on religion.

  • Shatners Kirk made me have joy :)

  • Starwars:WIN

  • Maybe the guy who did the sound FX on this trailor should do the movie sound FX,.They are 10x better than the movie by mile's....:)

  • @scrog77 Certainly i was looking for this music and i didn't hear it, but sometimes if you're in a film you're not aware of the music when you're really into it.

  • any1 know the name of the epic song used in this trailer

  • i've never seen this movie, on a scale 1-10 what do u give it?

  • @nguyen881 9.9

  • from which movie is this score

  • @isunia84

it's from a group called TWO STEPS FROM HELL. The name of the song is FREEDOM FIGHTERS.

  • eric bana sure knows his way around acting, the part when he yells "FIRE EVERYTHING" so simple yet awesome like the awesomeness itself. and it is ideal for a good trailer ^^

  • @grazzz Agreed man. Sounds just so right the way he says it.

  • GREAT trailer! Haha i was so happy when i saw the old Kirk in the light, that was epic

  • Shatner's silhouette: priceless. That's all they would have needed. Just a glimpse.

  • This was an EXCELLENT trailer.

  • Rick Berman gave us classy, true Trek, & he`s replaced with this strange, ill-defined movie that would seem fannish if Trek fans had million$ and wanted the heart of Roddenberry`s vision abandoned for action scenes less exciting than the worst from the 80s Trek films. Rick`s shows were honest but still full of hope. Maybe fans disliked the man, but while they fete polite low-key JJ, do they not notice the cynical soullessness of his none-too-humble Trek takeover?

  • @DrBojayGupta I thnk you're just about the only person in the world who would stick up for Rick Berman after what he did to Trek. Voyager and Enterprise, he had no control over DS9 and TNG wasn't created and rarely written by him.

  • What is the song to this trailer!? Thanks!

  • @lmmorgan01 Two Steps From Hell - Freedom Fighters

  • Can anyone tell me what song is playing in the trailer!? Thanks! :-)

  • I can't post here..???

  • When i thought of star trek, i think sad men who needs to get a life. BUT after seeing this my view has totally changed towards trekys, THIS FILM IS FUCKING AMAZING, and if you think it doesnt.......then your just fukking retared

  • one of my favorite movies in the last few years. they did a really good job with it

  • i hope they make another

  • @sparten771 All of the Main Actors have contracts to make another 2 or 3 Films....

    So .... Its almost definite.

  • @sparten771 they are. Not sure whats its called but I know that its coming.

  • @Killacam2424 good

  • @sparten771 they are filmin g begins in the summer of 2011

  • @luigi19987 good

  • This movie and District 9 were the highlights of the summer. Man, what a great year it was for movies. And this trailer is freaking good!

  • i couldn't agree more!! good choices!!!

  • I saw this movie and think it was no less impressive than Avatar - great acting, directing, magnificent visual effects.

Chris Pine, Winona Ryder, Eric Bana and Jennifer Morrison did a brilliant job!!!

  • oscar win for makeup

  • lol

  • wat for Music?

  • i liked how when nero talked about kirk, you showed a clip from the wrath of khan

  • Pretty rad trailer. I liked the official trailers, but this one is special.

  • Is that Kirk from the old tv show at 1:26?

  • yes it is, but i'm not sure that clip was in the real trailer; think it might have just been added for fun by someone....

  • this movie has awesome visuals

  • shit im wrong i saw a i tunes watermark on one of the clips sorry man

  • you didn't fuckin make this trailer section there is no way in hell you did

  • I'm glad, that was what I wanted

  • IT made me smile too when Shatner's Kirk was entering the bridge of the simulator. They really should have used that in the trailer. Nice work!

  • Say word. I almost dropped my laptop when I saw the "Grand Entrance" silhouette.

  • whats the song called?

  • @undesired44444 freedom fighters by two steps from hell

  • "FIRE EVERYTHING!!!"

  • The only thing that REALLY bothered me was the relationship between Spock and Uhura. Twilight had a more developed love story than that!...... OK, that's going too far, but you get the idea.

  • @BulletShootingGuys twilight is prefabricated nonsense posing for 13 year old vaginas u loser

  • @uthred08 yeah i know that movie is shit my sis wont stop watching it i puke every time i see it

  • Awesome film.

  • the song is "Freedom Fighters" of Two steps from Hell

  • I never really like Star Trek or Star Wars before, but I think this movie is awesome, entertaining, epic, fun, and groundbreaking!

  • Dang, I've just seen this movie on BluRay and it is GREAT!

  • Hi Christopher I'm Nero.

  • This trailer is amazing, the soundtrack and the pictures are perfect. Star Trek *thumb up*

  • I never noticed the random shot of Shatner in the trailer before. Well, probably just a Shatner body double, since he was in shadow; the scene definitely wasn't in the final cut of the film, and the uniform was the old ST movie version, which was a cool shout-out to ST's roots, if nothing else.

Can't wait to own this on DVD!

  • That wasn't in the official release trailer. This trailer has been altered, it says so in the infobox. It was a nice add though.

  • @smeagol92055 1:26 is from the beginning of the Wrath Of Khan when Kirk walks through the door onto the ship

  • Hahaha apparently Shatner was disappointed that they didn't ask him to be in the film but they asked Nemoy.. So funny. Wicked movie, wouldn't change a thing!

  • Comment removed

  • @Bartman954

Wrong. You say dissatisfied, I say disappointed, but in fact they're the same thing. I was right that Shatner was disappointed that he wasn't in the film, and I am well aware of the reasons. In fact, the details you gave support what I said. Next time you decide to be a smartass and correct someone, make sure you know what you're arguing against.

  • @Bartman954, Sorry but you are the one that's wrong. Mr. Shatner said in an interview "They never even talked to me about being in the new movie"(Meaning Star Trek 2009). Personally I think he would have turned it down anyway because the movie sucked worst then "Generations". At least Generations dealt with ageing and appreciating life. This New Star Trek dealt with... with... with...um... um... nothing. Nothing at all.

  • Two Steps From Hell - Freedom Fighters

  • What is the Soundtrack?!? I NEED TO KNOW!

  • whats the soundtrack

  • Ima see this movie tonight with all my friends and im a star wars fan but this trailer man it looks amazing and ive never watch a star trek film or show in my life! cant wait see it!

  • This movie has heled me apreciate Trek. I like it more than Star Wars for the first tome in my life. I have been converted.

  • That is exactly what happened to me! I realized how much better Star Trek was than Star Wars after watching this movie. Until then, I was fully a Star Wars fanatic.

  • I know. I thought no one would top lucasfilm. Star trek rules!!!!

  • So what'd ya think of it? :)

  • it was good rally good

  • I f*ckin love JJ

  • I can't wait for the sequel in 2012. It's so exciting! It may be better than the this one!

  • One of the best films trailers around! I'm not a Treckie and love this film. bought it on Monday. It's even worth buying to hear Nero/Eric Bana deliver the best line in the film "FIRE EVERYTHING!!!"

  • Hahaha so true!

I've - and this is alittle embarrassing - watched this trailer prolly 4-5 consecutive times now, just to get to the moment where Nero screams "FIRE EVERYTHING!!"

    This is an amazing movie!

  • do you have to be a star trek fan to understand this movie???

  • Nope. All you need to understand that it's an alternate universe due to the opening bit because Kirk's father dies and changes everything. (Not a spoiler.)

  • The movie was amazing, but i dont like the fact

that they built an alternate universe. They destroyed the history and the timeline of 5 TV series and 10 movies. And furthermore it doesnt make sense that 2 versions of Spock exist now in the same universe.I hope they will fix it in the upcoming movies.

  • but it did give JJ abrams afree pass to make the star trek however he wanted, which will help bring in a lot more people and break the sterotype that star trek is only for nerds. but, yeah, star trek has worked pretty dang hard to keep its timeline straight for 40+ years

  • great fucking movie

  • it was the first time i seen anyting to do wit star trek wen i went to see this movie and i got it perfectly and fell in love great movie

  • not really. theres things you could understand better if you're a trekkie

  • Not at all, just general knowledge

  • nop

  • 1:25

    :O

  • is there any way i could take just the voices from the trailer and make my own musical score? i want to do this for a music project for college

  • @lancsno1

You could always try Audacity, but the quality wouldn't be as good.

  • this is one of the best trailers ive ever seen, the music fits in PERFECT

  • Yes that was Shatner. I loved this movie! This movie made me proud. Live Long & Prosper!

  • Comment removed

  • What is the name of this song?!

  • Name of Song: Two Steps From Hell - Freedom Fighters

  • all you guys suck wrathof khan was the best know we have this one

  • 1:26 Is that Shatner?

  • no hes not in

  • finally a great science fiction movie

  • personally i think this one is better than wrath of khan

  • lets not push it too far now...

  • but wrath of khan was boring to me

  • probably not as good as wrath of khan, but it is on of the best out of the movie series.

  • Simeon Pegg is the worthy successor to James Doohan... no doupt about that.

  • There is plenty of doubt. Totally out of place in the film. The "humour" was not needed.

  • It was completely needed, and Pegg is the closest thing we've got to him. He has Scotty's sense of humor and doesn't kill the accent like Chekov's actor did.

  • No, it was not needed. Pegg and the inclusion of Leonard Nemoy tanked the second half of that film.

  • well then.... welcome to the 5% minority!
