You were reverse dnsing the nameservers. akaimatechnologies scares people as well. As for your site being downloaded, google "winhttrack". I recommend downloading wireshark and reading about packet information. The people you really have to worry about are the people who don't show up.

I agree with witterquickly.....anything that would mention bacteria and/or animals would surely be looked upon as a hoax. Now, that doesn't mean that W.I.P.P.O. is not existing, but from what I've researched, it isn't as extreme as that one website tries to make it seem. To be on the safe side though, I always take everything with a grain of salt, so when the Truth manifests, one will not be 100% inaccurate if that was the case.

Does anyone remember those companies several years back that were using malware to hijack peoples browser address bar, then calling up companies to convince them if they wanted keywords in there "alternate" dns service for those infected with their "virus" that they had to pay them as well. This is a false web page. There is however a World Intellectual Property Organization that is part of the UN. Thier goal is identifying

Looks like a hoax. As far as your entire site being downloaded, there are programs that can do this very easily. May have been some just looking for things you had hidden on your site. ie: no links to. Or maybe you had some cool coding they wanted to copy. I wouldn't worry about it.

Its a scam. Internet 2.0 is on its way out, not enough financial support. Anyone can buy a domain if it is available. Godaddy has a way you can buy a domain and then register it so you can not see who owns it.

I agree with witterquickly.....anything that would mention bacteria and/or animals would surely be looked upon as a hoax. Now, that doesn't mean that W.I.P.P.O. is not existing, but from what I've researched, it isn't as extreme as that one website tries to make it seem. To be on the safe side though, I always take everything with a grain of salt, so when the Truth manifests, one will not be 100% inaccurate if that was the case.

I don't know what this is about, but internet 2 is not a hoax. Can anyone really be shocked that government or service providers want to regulate the net. The gov. cause they like to control info, and the service providers so you have a tv like package, with access to a certain amount of sites(in that package), while all other sites will cost extra, simple.

This is not what you think it is. This is a proposed verification network. You join this network to show your customers that you are ligit. Nowhere does it say that you have to register with the "World Internet" whatever in order to sell anything online.

I traced nothing to the UN and I did a good search of that sight. The site you posted was creepy and it took you no where. I wouldnt trust the UN but I think this is a hoax. Monty, this is bs. the IANA, IETF & W3 consortium "own" the Internet. just google these 3 acronyms, or do a search for "world internet authority".
I am not sure what the site you've found is trying to pull - but it sure as hell DOES NOT own the Internet - nor have any authority over it.

Scam. Does anyone remember those companies several years back that were using malware to hijack peoples browser address bar, then calling up companies to convince them if they wanted keywords in there "alternate" dns service for those infected with their "virus" that they had to pay them as well. I think someone is just taking this same idea and trying to act legit with those dumb symbols and names to scare people in handing out their personal and credit info to ROB them.

Incidentally, I've built spiders that can download sites very quickly. As computer programs go, they're very trivial. Beginner programmers can write them. It's nothing to worry about except that, if it gets out of hand, you may have to pay extra for the bandwidth use.

monty i have located some co-conspirators. i went to jesus is savior d0t c0m, and saw a link to "devil music", which of course i immediately clicked. read up some about ozzy, freddy mercury and bon scott. then i saw a big 666 banner, was a hidden link, which of course i immediately clicked. this took me to a whole page of dowloadable midi and mp3 files of devil screams, satanic waltzes, and the like. i am sure these jesus people are connected to the NO WORLD ORDER WINNA people. it's dakine cult.

This is a false web page. There is however a World Intellectual Property Organization that is part of the UN. Thier goal is identifying
intellectual property-based solutions. basicly in simple terms they want to stop the free downloading of copyrighted files. At least this is what the the 2008/2009 budget for WIPO. So although the web page is false I believe WIPO needs to be looked at.

If there was an organization with the power to initiate such laws on a world level they would not call them selves the World Internet police. And the sites overall look is not at like one would expect from a gov. or even secret gov. agency. Conspiracy theories are fun and often valid but this one is a stretch in my opinion

Yeah, I noticed that too. Plus, the "Copyright 1998-2009" thing seems a little weird as well. Also, if you try to click on the circle at the top, it doesn't work like the other bullet points do. Then there's the overall page design, which looks like it was done by an eighth grader. Bottom line, if it looks fake then it probably is.

Okay, look at the info they have above the copyright on the WINNA page. It mentions if plants, aliens, or things use anything on this site, they will be blacklisted. This is clearly fake, as no respectable organization would openly talk about plants and aliens. Also, most "GOV" websites go out of their way to look comfortable and trusting... these series of sites look cold and poorly made. It is fake.

imo, these folks are going to use the brand "World Internet" to provide some sort of certification to the websites they approve. It's nothing more than this. Regarding the download of websites they are very probably datamining for a potential customers' survey. Maybe you'll receive a mail by them offering this (useless) service. Just a guess, anyway.

As you remember,I used to be a pretty big conspiracy guy myself and they do exist but nowhere near the scale of what some believe. I am just so tired of all the conspiracy stuff..there is so many BS conspiracy theories out there that no one can tell the real conspiracy or no longer pay any attention to them(like 9-11,Kennedy etc.). Looks like a hoax. As far as your entire site being downloaded, there are programs that can do this very easily. May have been some just looking for things you had hidden on your site. ie: no links to. Or maybe you had some cool coding they wanted to copy. I wouldn't worry about it.

I dunno . . . I clicked on the third one (pulsating), it basically went to a dead end screen. Then when I tried to back up, I could not. My screen froze and ultimately went back to desktop on its own. Probably a coincidence but I'm not going back to find out. I've had enough viruses, etc., in the past.

For others reading this, I did a quick search on WIL spelled out and ran into a blog by a Jan Chilton - Internet NetNews. Then I did a find because the web page is huge, and I found WIL spelled out in one article.
Based on this article alone, it looks to be real, and WIL apparently trumps US Copywrite laws according to the article. Realestate agents are losing websites using the term "MLS".
