I must have jumped there a dozen or more times. It was incredible! Don't know how it is now but we never had any trouble with the cops.

I grew up right down the road from Box Canyon.

If I had any inkling the cops were waiting for me up by Cadencia, I would just walk down to the La Costa golf course or up to Cadencia park.

This is way sick! So judging from the comments..it's illegal to jump there? This is bullShit!! There is nowhere to cliff dive in CA! New Mexico and Acapulco seem to be the closest places. Too bad, I'm only like 25 mins away from this area. I'd love to go

for a prohibited, not well known spot this place has proven pretty fatal. according to article 1 there have been 5 deaths since '75. its a shame, but thats the way it is. maybe one day theyll invest the money to make it safer.

got arrested last month. escorted out of canyon and delivered to police at trailhead. $75 fine turned into $445 with mandatory court fees. dont go there unless you are prepared to lose 500 bucks and possibly get seriously injured or killed.

its an incredible place but definitely not worth it. homeowners and cops are fedup and prosecute on first offense.

there is also another waterfall upstream about 100 yards. this area should be a park. use zillow birds eye view to see falls.

id say the most important element is not making too much noise. the sound travels right up to where the unfriendly condo owners are. check aerial photos to find access trail. there is a steep trail that climbs out of the falls area to the north west, it ends up near el fuerte drive.

What up, this is John. This is my video from last summer. I was thinking about heading back there soon. Hayutinj, when you say your friends where arrested. Where they just sited for tresspassing or did they actually spend time in jail. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth a return trip. I ussaully take the El Fuerte route. It's a 20-25 min. hike. If you could give me more details on how they got busted I'd appreciate it.

whats the quickest way to get to el fuerte drive, I've been to Box Canyon a few times from cadencia park but it requires a lot of hiking, and a few of my friends just got arrested. Does anyone know this route?

ive jumped it. its funny you hike down the trail to get there and it ends where u jump, and youre like holy shit u jump from here ?? its 67ft we measured it one day. the other side called suicide is over 100

i remember jumpin this place as a kid and tweaking my neck just jumping feet 1st!! and the story of the guy who in the 70's died from the 105' by getting beheaded in a tree...every hear the story of the vw bus supposibly in the pool?good times...

the vw or whatever is in there. when u jump and if u go deep enough when u hit the water, ur foot will touch it down there. its a car. nott sure the type though

jumped the 65 footer shown in the video, never hit bottom

the real hairball jump is the 105 foot running jump from the oposite side of the quarry

you can hike in from the east or west of the water fall.east from cadencia park and from the west its 2 streets west of the cadencia la costa ave stop light. carefull of the poison oak from the west it grows rampid through there
