  • Hey, I have a canon hfm31, and I use a DOF adapter on it. Will magnets flip the image on my camera. Thanks. Grat video.

  • What lens do you use on the sony z1u? By the way, very nice review.

  • fuck tweets

  • Does the sr 11 have manual shutter and iris settings? Thnks for the tip too as i mgiht buy a jag.

  • magnets and hdd. brilliant.

  • I'm learning about cameras and lenses and this videos helped a lot - thanks

  • heyy man does the Sony HDR-SR11 does it blur at all when in night vision please get back too me thanks

  • @matty2timer It doesn't blur, but the night vision on the SR11 isn't great.

  • Great job! I really like the look of the sony, but is it possible for the sr11 to do 24p instead of the 60i?

  • @LethargicBannanazZ This camera does not do 24p. Just 30p

  • @DasKapital Darn! I heard sony does software updates for 24p is that true

  • @LethargicBannanazZ That wouldn't make any sense. If you record in 30, you can switch to 24 in post, yet it still won't look as good as recording in 24 directly from the camera. Sounds like it would be more of a hardware update.

  • @DasKapital sorry thats what i meant.

  • hello would the magnet hack work with a hv 20 or 30 ?

  • 25 grados

  • I have an SR11 and Jag35 and lens for sale on eBay right now: item# 320644153358.

I hope you don't mind me posting that here.

  • Hi i have a question about this adapter... the lense i have (canon 50mm EF f/1.4) has autofocus does the adapter give me the ability to use the autofcus or only manual?

  • may I ask what video format you used to get such good quality when uploading to youtube?... and what rendering program you used too?

  • just fyi, the magnet flip definitely works, but there is a slight problem. The image is flipped, but the problem is that the image is still mirrored. That means that all the text on your screen will be the wrong way and also that if you pan the camera to the right, the image will also be moving to the right, but mirrored...

Not the worst problem, but definitely takes a lot of getting used to and hard to film pans.

  • Can someone please explain to me this whole reverse image thing on LCD's? Whats up with that? I have a camcorder and it shows it fine. Is that a problem with modern HD cam's or something?

  • @CubeLuda This is happening because the Jag35 lens adapter reproduces the image in reverse, similar to the way the lens in your eyes flips the image so that the image is upside down, but the brain then converts it for you. The reverse image does not happen with the camcorder itself.

  • @sushimaster89

Ohhh! Makes sense now. I was getting worried with all these videos showing the thing in reverse. Thanks for the info :)

  • can i put this adapter on my sony HDR-CX100?

  • the tripod head is bigger than the camera :O

  • lmao the ending is the best part hahaha

  • vignette much.

  • Hi tguilmette! Can you please tell me what video export settings you used, and in what program, to upload sharp quality videos on Youtube in 360p? My 360p and 480p videos come out blurry on Youtube. Please help! Thanks!

  • wow vignette much?! and crikey that crom abb is baddd

  • Thank you so much. Does this work with canon hv20?

  • @AnnexF no

  • did he just come out of the closet at the end ? :P

  • what lens is on the sony hdr hc3? i have that camcorder and what lens do you recommended ?

  • I think Jag has issues with focus, you get much unnecessary blur.. what do u think.

  • Comment removed

  • That sony hdr-sr11 is really nice! But in the footage you shot there is vignette with extremely much chromatic abberation. That really blows. But the trick is pretty cool!

  • That ending was fantastic man, Great video.

  • Thanks for the information. I just bought the jag35 and Im using the sony hdr xr 500v. Im waiting for the jag35 to get delivered. You did some amazing work with it.

  • This flip method also works on Sony HDR-CX550V, with mine I had to use a stronger magnet, the one on my blackberry case wasn't strong enough.

  • Hi,

For the video with the HDR-SR11, have you only used the cam and the adapter ? Some need a Nikon 50mm too. Can you also tell me which cam is the b est between the Sony HDR-SR11 and the hg20 for the shooting of an independant full lenght film ?

    Thanks a lot

  • Wow. I don't understand what this guy says to break authorization laws, but they could at least do us a favor and upload a version with subtitles, so we at least know what he is saying.

  • Why do people put these music tracks on their vids anyway? They do absolutely nothing for the subject matter, silence is far preferable to music (usually only awful noise anyway) and commentary of even the worst type is preferable to silence.

We watch vids to see the video, not to listen to your choice of music.

  • There is no Audio :(

  • if WMG were not so anal this video might have helped me a lot

can't hear shit, thanks Warner Media Group

  • Dude thank u so much this worked on my sony cx500v too and the neodymium magnet just stays on but i had to do it on a different location by the screen. what a huge money and time saver. u are the man!!!!! now i don't need to crack the camera open and put in a switch myself. warranty saved!

  • Instead of using magnets or recording in an upside down orientation, I just open the plastic covering in between the LCD screen and the body of my Sony SR10 and the flip switch is there. This switch can even be relocated/situated outside the plastic covering making switching between normal orientation and flipped one an easy task. I think many camcorders work on the same idea. I don't use mirrors to flip images on my Sony VX2100E too after I've discovered this flip switch. Try it.

  • hahahaha, that little camera on those vinten sticks, I'd love to turn up to work with that!

  • THERE IS NO AUDIO NOW. Please change the music or whatever so we can hear the important part! Thanks :)

  • HAHAHAHA! I loved the end! Great review on the Jag35. So far, I think it's the best one.

  • IGUALITO A LA brujita Veron de la seleccion Argentina

  • audio please..

  • where is the audio :(

  • does it work on Panasonic HDC-SD9 ?

  • The amount of trouble that little camera caused was nerve racking for me. You still using it?

  • no I sold my camera and going to buy panasonic hvx-200

  • @Thiefylord hi, sdr11 sony no good?

  • It's a shame that you

tube were picky about the audio, have you the original video without the copyrighted part? I have the HDR-SR11, and would like to see the potential others have found with this camera. Is there any reason you'd want to flip the display whilst recording?

  • Thank you for posting your review about the Jag35 pro and also the great idea/trick with the magnet! I can't wait to try it out on my Sony HDR-HC3. BTW, beautiful camera work!

  • Tguilmette, great job! I have learned a lot!

  • Magnets?!?! Brilliant!

  • does the magnettrick work on a canon hv30?

  • I bought one pf these and it isnt anywhere as quiet as you say it is.

  • Comment removed

  • really cool ending haha, it looks very nice.

  • hey man, do u think it would work for the canon hfs10

  • tengo exactamente la misma duda.

  • yes

  • Yes, it will.

  • yup it does...! You can even buy a HFs10 with the Jag35Pro bundle for like 1'900...

  • whats the song at the end?

  • Do you know how to get movies from HDR SR11 into the mac? And could you please explain how?

  • just take your time and in 5 minutes you will have a perfectly flipped screen ready for your DOF adapter. I figured this out from pure desperation. I had made the observation that when the magnet was there and you start to close the LCD that the image flipped the right way. The only downfall of this is that your LCD and viewfinder stay on at the same time. O well more batteries. I think it is worth it. Good Luck !

  • That will take care of the up side down flip. Now there is a small area that a piece of the plastic that covered the arm used to slide down when shutting the LCD and activating the viewfinder , well stick a toothpick down there and it will hit the little switch and now your horizontal problem is gone. I know it sounds scary but it is very easy, j

  • The best way to go is to take off the protective plastic pieces that covers the LCD arm "three screws when LCD is opened up" there are two different pieces that will need to come off then you need to very carefully lift up the locking clips on top and bottom and that whole piece that surrounds the armature will come off. Now that the whole under structure is exposed you can get a small fridge magnet and pop it between the LCD and the body.

  • the flip trick seems to work with the canon gl2 as well.

  • where did you buy it? and how much?

  • Does anyone know if this flip trick works with the panasonic HDC-HS300?

  • Is there any risk of the magnets potentially damaging the hard drive of the camcorder?

  • Yes, only a few cameras can use the flip hack (i.e. HDR-SR11, Hv30 etc.)

  • That's a terribly GOOD question !

  • @JediFarce

The magnet is not strong enough to damage a Hard Drive media, and besides, the HD is on opposite side of the camera.

  • @JediFarce nope. There are magnets IN a hard drive, you need a really big magnet to damage anything.

  • damn well dont I feel dumb for spending $2500 on a letus heh

  • Doesn't look like it has the limitation of the letus with vignetting? Hey Tom, would this work on a Sony ex1? What kind of adaptors would I need to get to make the JAG35 Pro on a Sony ex1, also what kind of rail system would I need to get. Third, is this a much better alternative than getting the letus extreme?

  • hey, I have the jag35 pro and its a great adapter but I consider it to be a cheap 35mm adapter for those with consumer cameras, Since u already own an ex1 I would go the extra mile and get a letus. But yes the jag 35 pro can be purchased to work with your camera.
