Dudedude or dooDoo John Lennon (die cuz)of bullets shot from a gun held by an asshole who thought he was a fictional kid in a book written before he was born.
Who could imagine a small phrase stirred fans wild six months after Lennon said "We're bigger than Jesus". Well apparently this made the KKK get involved in this and other people. The Beatles were aimed by gunfire during their tours.
If people listened to the context of words rather than just the words, the emotion behind the words rather than just the words then they would understand WHAT! is actually being said rather than hold a lazy secondhand hearsay perception. A bunch of inbred cross burners in the south might be forgiven their inability to analyse what Lennon said but educated people should know better. Lennon was an honest man at heart & that signature would have been him having a wry laugh at fools expense.
John also changed his signature in the later years from around 1970 or so, leading up to his death. You can google it and you'll see what I mean. You can also acess pictures of the copy of Double Fantasy that he signed for Mark David Chapman the night of his murder. I Didn't think you could, but you can! It's interesting to see something as valuable as this autographed album, probably one of his last, if not his last signing.
The signature in the magazine is not a fake. I'm a big Beatles fan, along with many others who will know that this signature is genuine....for two reasons. One being that you can google Lennon's signature on other Beatles memorbilia or letters to fans, and the signature is EXACTLY the same...the other being that it would be so typical of dear Johnny to make a pun on something...just after apolgizing for it. LOL!!!
John didn't do anything wrong. His words didn't bother anyone outside of the fanatical south. Was the world upset with John's words that appeared months before in Europe? No. Only freaks ie conservative jerks, the KKK, and assorted morons who didn't deserve the magic that was The Beatles anyway. By the way judging from the tone of this and other current US media I'm sad to say things haven't changed much. It reflects badly not on John Lennon but on the media and the US.
Interesting to see a Hofner Violin Bass on the table next to the other stuff, surly that didn't go up for sale in the US? as Paul has NEVER put any of the 3 he owns/owned up for sale, Never!
@MidnightMinstrel I was wondering the same thing! I am also intrigued at what the percentage is at on tangible artifacts when dealing with antiques and historical collectables these days. I would take a guess that it is a very high number!
im the 2nd person who dislike...
