The louse was captured with Scotch tape and gently placed under a microscope slide. Using a Canon point & shoot, I imaged the bug through the eyepiece of the (medical microscope) while watching the LCD of the camera.

Because lice survive not by eating hair but by sucking the blood from your scalp. Hair just provides shelter for them.
