  • SEED Destiny is epic but Astray seems epic too

  • @ZGMF1000ZakuX You must be watching something else because SEED Destiny absolutely sucks.

  • not cool, man, not cool...

    @SMAXZO

  • @ZGMF1000ZakuX Just saying. Either I must be watching some crappy anime with little to no character development, a rushed story and the main character got hijacked by Mr. Plot Armor just to name a few or you must be watching something good and I want to see what you had watched.

  • Whatever... For the record, I really was watching

Gundam SEED Destiny, and I think it's epic.

    Think what you will...

    @SMAXZO

  • Gotta love The Frames. They aren't even gundams and they can still kick ass and be badasses.

  • Anyone know where I can find a download for these songs?

  • did Astray ever get an OVA? if not, They need to, the Astray Frames are so badass!

  • It got a few episodes, so not entirely an OVA. Still, they're worth watching. Giant Robot pilots who like their jobs? Blasphemy!

  • this aint half bad

  • weird theme sing but cool

  • This guys must be in a SRW game with better graphics than W (well, I enjoy it, but I think they deserves better animations than Seed Destiny saga in Z)

  • *shrug* I prefer Shinn slightly. His insanity was fascinating. But hey, to each their own.

I CERTAINLY love how over the top Astray is.

  • Good theme though I'd have perfered it if Carnard Pars had killed Kira, would have prevented Destiny from happening. Meaning no shinn pissing and moaning for 50 episodes.

  • @LegendaryPhantomX And Dullindal would have taken over the earth. Making you juggle balls along with chibi Lord Djibril. :P

  • @aliastheabnormal That certainly would have been more interesting than what we got (essentially SEED's final battle only with the climax becoming anticlimatic).

  • @starqo Oh come on! We all knew how SEED Destiny's last battle would end? Or in my case cheated and looked it up on Wikipedia.

  • The way I see it, SEED Destiny was made as a challenge to the SRW team - an anime with tons of potential but badly executed - and in both SRW Z and K, they showed us exactly what SEED Destiny was capable of.

  • @IchimonjiGiri

A healthy way to see it. I've actually spent a good deal of time looking at exactly what went wrong with Destiny, and my conclusion is that they tried to cram waaaay too much material into too few episodes.

  • This might surprise you, but I've actually done a 180. I now have an appreciation for the character's potential and their individual merit. Not their fault that they got saddled with the wrong plot to showcase them.

... This might have come from the immense amount of help the Strike Freedom's Hi-Mat Burst was to me in ACE R though, so I might be slightly biased.

  • @IchimonjiGiri I was wondering, what exactly did they change in super robot wars Z to the destiny plot?

  • @zetashiki1 Let's see. Shinn is a lot less whiny. Kira gets called out on shooting first and explaining himself later. The ZAFT team gets a lot less character derailment. Kira and Shinn gain equal status as the heroes of SEED Destiny. None of them are for Durandal's Desinty Plan, and all work together to stop it. Generally, the entire plot gets a rework for the better.

  • K on the other hand does the only thing that Z didn't do - Turned Cagali back into her badass Action Girl self. Her first mission is against the Festum from Fafner in the Azure, who are Reality Warpers, while Cagali is in the outmoded Strike Rouge... And she kicks their ass. And it only gets better from there once you can assign her back into the Akatsuki.

  • @IchimonjiGiri so in other words, it does SEED Destiny, but unlike Destiny they actually did it right.

  • whoaa...nice theme....

  • these gundam i never seen before which episode is it?

  • These are part of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray, which is a Manga series that shows the Cosmic Era from the viewpoint of various other factions.

It's claim to fame is having pilots who love their job and aren't murdering sociopaths, and a 150M Giant Katana.

It also attempts to explain away some of the logical failings of SEED, such as Kira's miraculous survival from point blank self destruction.

  • It also attempts to draw the perspective from the powerful mobile suits and focuses on the Mass Production models as well and shows how versatile they can be.

  • both songs are awesome. and as far as shinn goes.......he was a place holder really.

  • @Hatred398: Same here. I loved listening to it while playing Generation of CE a few years back, and it's stuck with me even now. Very good theme.

That said, I'm sorry if this sounds rude but...is it possible to seperate the two tracks?

  • wat ms at 1:27?

  • Gundam ASTRAY Red Frame Mars Jacket

  • i so friggin luv the blue frames theme

  • Everyone from the Astray and other SEED sidestories helped make SEED better and SEED Destiny bearable. Unfortunately they could not heal the mauling Shinn received at the hands of the directing.

Didn't know that the song had its roots in Generation of CE though...

  • Worse yet, Shinn LIVED thru the war. It boggles the mind that anyone likes him. At first he could be cool, but he turns into a psycho puppet at the end. He is basically ALL that was bad about Kamille Bidan and none of the good.

  • Well Athrun was a member of the Kira Club too, he humiliates but doesn't kill.

I just don't like how the final episodes threw all reason out of the nearest airlock and changed the Destiny and Shinn's combat effectiveness according to how long Kira appears for that episode. And when Kira became the main character...

Shinn was likeable and garnered some support during the first 13 episodes, but I think the director played the war orphan card 36 episodes too many.

  • astray is great!!!!!!!!!! =D i luv the manga so uhc takes away the seriousness of the entire seed serious to a more kickback version xD

  • The Red Frame's first form kinda reminds me of Sol Badguy, which makes it even more bad-ass.

  • I have the Red Frame model and I love it now!!Its soooo cooool!

  • Where did you download this?

  • Nice upload. Any chance you can upload the song "Hatred" from Gundam Seed Astray? Its Canard Pars theme..or something like that, I haven't seen much seed outside of the original and destiny(blech).

  • I like the last Red Frame variation. Two Swords is really better than one.

  • I really wish 00 would get the Astray treatment after it's second season. it's really turning out to be no better and it really needs it. Maybe this rumored Unicorn thing that's 00 linked will be just that.

  • Gundam Unicorn is set in Universal Century, so no 00 tie-ins.

  • Astray was such an improvement, it was nice to see a character that's actually a awesome character rather than Kira and Shinn's emo-ness, or Mwu's "ALL ACCORDING TO PLAN" Crap.

Gai was great, too. if you didn't like Gai. that means you don't like MAXIMILLION JENIUS from Macross. Gai's just basically a clone of him.

  • How is that variant of Red Frame you used in the image is called?

  • Gundam Astray Red Frame Mars Jacket

  • Ah, so thats how it looks like in color.

  • *sigh* At last ... found it ... man, I've been searching for Gundam Astray Blue's theme for a long time .. since I've played a game on PS2 called .... Generations or something .. I liked the theme but couldn't find it ... Thanks ^_^

  • I dont think even monetary compensation can make up for the emoness in SEED.

  • SEED Astray, however, features a robot junkie who's always really hyper and enthusiastic, and a mercenary who thinks he's the shit and can beat anyone.

  • In Lowe's case, it's nice to see SOMEONE enthusiastic about their mecha piloting who isn't a psychopath or clone of a psychopath, and in Gai's case its usually quite justified. Besides, SEED Astray also features a 150m Mecha Katana, which absolves SEED completely.

  • I freaking loved the Red Frame Powered in SRT W. I couldn't not use it; I had anticipated its coming so eagerly that I actually saved up enough credits to max upgrade it right when I get the Red Frame. (which meant that all the other Astray Gundams got fully upped right away, since they inherit from it~)

The next playthrough, I selected it as a favourite and upgraded it to max with those, too.

  • What makes them cool, is that they dont side with any one, they fight to survive, they fight because they know its the right thing to do, and none of them is a love sick kill fearing crybaby I often see in SEED and Destiny. Besides Kira is the Ultimate Coordinator, Athrun and Shin are Skilled Soldiers with Training, But Lowe Guele Is just a natural and a Technician but He can blow a good fight

  • @whitewing2 lowe has 8

  • Where did you find this? Do you have the other Astray character theme's as well?

  • Oh no question that Astray is way more awesome than first SEED and Destiny. Good to see someone good and hot-blooded in a world full of emo losers.

  • Yeah Astray is where the rest of the awesomeness is (Hey Mu and Andy are pretty cool characters despite being in normal SEED)

And and where else do you see a character who as opposed to beamspam, prefers A) a mech scale Katana and B) A HUGE one (150 meters in fact)

  • Zengar wants to have a talk with you.

    A friendly one, that is.

  • Bullet and his Shin Ko Ryu Oh send their regards.
