@kanylchloride aye it was me first Utoob vid ... it was so much fun that I couldn't stop. I've illustrated quitev a few now and still haven't had enough, infact i even made more channels for other styles of music.
Val and Rolf were my favs to make tho cos there were not so many of them posted when I first started.
@molliemollie17 We did the same at my mum's funeral but played *I do Like to be Beside the Seaside* at the end cos it was me mum's favourite song and her happiest times were on the coast.
love this man ....it reminds me of my child hood with my parents and sister waiting for The Val Doonican show ...my parents loved it and so did we ...and still do xx
This reminds me of my childhood, sitting on my late daddy's lap watching the Val Doonican show. This was my favourite of all his songs! Well put together video, loved watching it, many thanks!
I love this song It reminds me of my nan singing this while I was growing up and she wanted it played at her funeral which her request was granted and we couldn't stop quietly laughing at while it was playing plus it reminds me of my Irish roots plus one day we all will go off with a bang someday wont we lol RIP nan thanks ricky for letting me know you accidentally deleted my last message mate m8 no worrys
I was excited to find this. My mom really loves this song, and we couldn't find it anywhere...until now. She will be so excited when I am able to share this with her!
Thank you so much for posting this. I often hum the tune but could only every remember the bit about getting 9pence out of Paddy Mcginty's goat. This brings back happy childhood memories.
i learned a couple of verses of this in primary school then when i got to college, i researched the song and made a book, i found a couple of verse that are not in this song...do ppl just make them up and add them as they like?
Val Doonigan's LP "Val Doonigan rocks...but gently" got to No.1 in the LP charts in 1968 - knocking the Beatles Sergeant Pepper from its long reign at no. 1 (30 weeks or so)...so there!

My Uncle Came Up With A Verse
On The West Coast Of Ireland One Morning There Was Seen
As Plain As A Pikestaff, A German Submarine
The Coastguard Maloney Fell Over In A Fit
When Up Came Paddy McGintys Goat For Him To Do His Bit
He Dived In The Water As Frisky As A Whale
He Swam Round The U Boat And Wagged His Little Tail
He Upped With His Horns Right In The Bally Lot
And Knocked The Hunt To Heligoland Did Paddy McGintys Goat!
