  • ...this time the bosses sued.

  • God like genius.. Wow.. My all time favorite song.. thanks for the post..

    thank you...

  • GOOD FOR YOU IAIN,HOPE ITS GOIN WELL IN YOUR LIFE ALL THE BEST ANDY

  • this is beautiful. First time I ever heard of Paul Weller was hearing above the clouds on radio here. The more you dig the better he gets !

  • I would've Shit, if I was there & he busted this out Live!

  • thank you for this!!!!

  • Great live version. have loved this song since I got the LP back in high school in 84!

  • Superb stuff........!!!

  • Way bigger than the jam, musically speaking of course!

  • By far the best LIVE version on youtube.

    Thank you very much

  • Glorious!! One of the BEST songs of the 80s!! Period.

  • You all know this man murdered more than 100 people?

  • Sorry, do not like. I love Paul Weller in his Jam music but this is just crap. I know I will receive a lot of shit for this but just not my type of music. too jazzy for me.

  • Fat ur a twat!!We all love the jam,but Weller is just weller,a front runner, still to this day,we all want a reunion but that will never happen,so go Paul,ur a legend.

  • @fatsweets The style council were a jazz influenced band. And jazz being an early style of music that the Mods liked , it's fitting really.

  • @originalspykid69 was blues not jazz mods liked

  • This is the bollocks.

  • O.K., this song (this version),blew me away at 18 in 84. It has never left me since. This is why people say Weller is God. He's Brilliant! I became a trumpet player, a self taught pianist, and took guitar lessons all because of Weller. I even went to a professional recording school to learn the Art. My most recent feather in my cap has been as a contributor to the book, The Complete History Of The Style Council. That is the power of Weller!!! Thanks Iain!!!

  • Those chords were meant to played together

  • the man is a lgend

  • Pure love.

  • AMAZING! He's like whiskey...gets better with time!

  • i bet wellar has gotten some nice trim over the years...

  • Come to JazzFest in NOLA is all I have to say. Paul at the Fair Grounds would be E P I C.

  • Style Council reunite please!!!

  • liken it , class

  • This video is so amazing! Steve is killing it on the wah wah guitar! What a great, upbeat, funky song! Thanks Paul, and thanks ateaseweb for posting this!

  • shit Paul is Killing it here ! Awesome version

  • Great band and Paul still looks young, Has 23+ years really passed since this song came out??

  • Time flies, huh?

  • we need people like paul to stand up and speak again .that bitch might die soon but her ways are still here, so paul if u read this help begin the walls down

  • were you stoned when you posted that steelcity red???

  • cradock is fucking brilliant here, guitar is amazing!

  • One of the soundtracks on my life. Weller is a musical God.

  • SCRUMPTIOUS. PURE NECTAR!

  • SOOO COOL ...JUST LUVE HIM X

  • The epitome of 80s brit pop. A man who knew what was going wrong in Thatchers Britain and spoke for the huge number of us who werent part of The Thatcher generation. We didnt all make wads of cash and buy our shitty council houses. He managed to speak for the dissafected in their dead end jobs living on crappy estes with no hope and no future. If you like this try "The bitterest Pill" or "Beat Surrender"

  • Yes, summed up wonderfully. His music spans a huge range of time, all so fresh. I'm glad he includes the best Style Council songs when playing live. And I still remember the brilliant fresh hopeful feeling that his new solo stuff in 1991, finding his feet again, meant.

  • Paul Weller is one of the coolest persons ever to walk this planet....i look foward to seeing him playing when hes 70 and upwards and when i die seeing him as a fresh 33 year old in HEAVEN ...KOSMOS!!

  • he is so cool

  • mutual respect due :)

  • 非常にカッコイイ音楽だ。大好きだ。

  • Weller is like the Tragically Hip. He isn't popular in the U.S and as an American all I can say is why the f*ck not people?????

  • great video, didnt think he still played style council songs.the man is a genius his entire back catologue prooves it.

  • stop fighting pls. make love not drama.

Im stripping down.......you boys watching???? send me a message Wd

  • i'm in the States but I can get on the roof!

  • T

his song has such a positive vibe about it....

  • I bought this 45 in the days when nobody in the gulag of eastoregon would've known a rat's bum from hello.

Where ever you are at Paul, HEY!

  • heard this in a pub in harrow in 1984 where tho who used to play in their early days, still sounds great.

  • It would have been nice if that hand-clapping fool just in front of the camera wasn't there.

  • My guess is that YouTube is quickly turning America on to the prodigious talents of Paul Weller. All it takes is one viewing and the man's voice is in your head for the rest of the day. Another British gift that keeps on giving.

  • paul is a genius his styles of music keep changing!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah, its youtube letting everyone here know who paul weller is. we don't leave our computers, and since he hasn't been coming here since 1977, we don't know who he is.

  • He was/is a brilliant musician. a nº1 performer. He allways puts special energy to his lyrics.(very outspoken!!) Amazing guitar player.

But man, what it gets me is his voice!!

    His cool.

  • If could have been quicker but the NBC station in Boise was feeding from UTAH then and promptly "lost" such gems. I cannot to this day forgive for whatever lost audio and much of the video of Tom Snyder "Tomorrow" with the Clash yet Wendy O. Williams was unhindered on SNL...grrr, TV cable and microwaves!

  • Woah that wah wah geetar is so siiiick!!!

However, it's a pity that America never got to embrace the prodigious talent of Sir Paul Weller (somebody give this bloke a knighthood!!!)

  • He refused the Knighthood!!

    His reasons were:

"It would have been a bit hypocritical for me to accept that, I don't really agree with it. I don't like the royal family, I don't like the establishment, I don't like the civil service. So, it would be utterly pointless me accepting it."

    Love you.

  • Well now I like him twice as much. I always wondered why more musicians don't refuse it.

  • Probably says a lot more about them their their own words do.

Weller just seems a lot more honest than that rent-a gob Bono who's main hobby is preaching about starving Africans and making us feel guilty for not donating our measely wages to them before he buggers off home in his Maserati.

If it matters so much to him, surely he can afford a few bob himself......

  • Well said!

  • wellers great and 22 Dreams is out on JUNE 2

  • The guitarist is Steve Craddock who is also the leaded guitarist with Ocean Colour scene. The bassist is Damon Minchella formally the bassist of Ocean Colour Scene. Craddock is awesome as is the mighty modfather.

  • best changing moods ever!

  • Thats great shame about the quality!

  • the guitar player is as cool as ive ever seen

  • I cant believe i'm watchin two old school mates play with Weller - AMAZING!!!!!!!!

  • well 1 is his cousin you moron.

  • Steve Cradock (one d) is not Wellers cousin despite his Mothers maiden name.

  • OMG I was at that gig.. stood right at the front..

  • fucking ave it

  • seeing this footage is the highlight of my rock evening.now i can let my daughter have the computer back.well played paul.well played.

  • Well done paul

"my ever changing moods * style council"

    from:radio70s

  • as much an anthem as town called malice, you are a true legend mr weller

  • I only got to see this show but it was amazing! One of the best nights of my life....Luv ya Paul!!!

  • what other classic TSC did he play that night?

  • Too bad about the loud-mouth Scots who were in attendance...they ruined ALL THREE NIGHTS for me. I was happy to see them kicked out on the third night. Thanks for posting!

  • Scots just know how to enjoy themselves. Weller has said many times that the best gigs he's done have been in Scotland because of the atmosphere.

I'm glad they ruined it for you - Tosser.

  • Telling a female fan to f**k off, screaming "Wella Wella" constantly and getting into a fight is "enjoying themselves" then I guess. Takes a tosser to know one I guess.

  • One of his best numbers..

  • hes chelsea, but i dont think a real football fan. not like lot of us who love music but love football too. Hail the Celts! Glasgowv Celtic Football Club W R THE MODS

  • Thanks for the great memories! Paul is one Cool Cat!

  • Top song from paul weller.Come on you reds. (Forest)

  • He's from Woking, Surrey and doesn't like football, neither a Yid nor Chelsea!

  • He's Chelsea ya MUG!!

ps. I saw him play football in 1977, and surprisingly, he wasn't that shit either, ha ha ha

  • I like your style Pikey, but Weller is Chelsea, always has been innit :-)

  • yid cunt

  • One of Wellers finest tunes... Wow takes me back...

Up the Weller... Up the Mods... Up the Spurs

  • The Style Council were the ichiban band of the 80's!!!

    Best song besides Shout!

  • ii dnt lyk diis song =] HAHA granii mo0siikk

  • Three of the most memorable nights of my life !!!

  • Thanks soo much for posting..I was one of the many unlucky twits that couldn't get in! At least I got to see him on Conan O'brien!

  • I'm speechless. Probably the most underappreciated song of the 80's.

  • Fabulous! Thanks for sharing. Now I can groove at home, like I was groovin' there on Tuesday night. This dude is IT!!

  • Elvis was in the building!!

  • paul weller week in nyc was just amazing, it was historic,i got memories to last a life time

  • Making do with youtube - lottery numbers wouldn't come up- it being "the (next) best thing". Top tune and choice for NY. Water into wine sublime.Big as the big apple thanks for the posting. Beautiful.

  • Amazing! You lucky git.
