  • whoa, that bari looks like me but with a goatee...

  • @osterianio That's Gabe Caretto. He's the director of the American River Chorus based out of the California Delta chapter of the FWD. He also just won the FWD Championship with Artistic License.

  • Tim freakin waurick ladies and gentlemen!

  • This arrangement is downright epic. My quartet sang it at our annual show and a swear we received more applause than the guest quartet.

Brought the house down. I'd like to think it was our amazing voices, but deep down, I know it's the arrangement that has that built-in steady build up to the end that makes it ridiculously satisfying.

  • What a post!!! You could hear Tim in 3 counties!!!! :o)

  • @NICKALEXPROD He sure can scream loud indeed.

  • Tim.... Makes me smile... <3

  • anyone have the music for this? or know the arranger?

  • @drewjbonner

It was arranged by Bobby Gray Jr. =)

Not sure about the music. Do you transcribe?

  • @MTGlipp Yeah I could, I just don't want to take the time to do it. And it wouldn't be perfect

  • @MTGlipp this is arranged by tom gentry. I have the sheet music.

  • @jcirmsa

    really?

haha the barbershoptags website is an outright liar =P

  • @MTGlipp Yeah! Google "Tom Gentry Arrangements" and click on the first one if you want to purchase a *legal* copy of it.

  • @jcirmsa the tag they sing is arranged by Bobby Gray but the actually chart is done by Gentry

  • @jcirmsa Where could I get the sheet music from, this arrangment is amazing!

  • This is the song my big sis always used to sing to me when I was sad and crying. my whole family are singers, all the men are barbershop... it's just beautiful

  • tim tim tim tim tim tim tim.... Good lord he can sing

  • Brilliant! I remember these guys had a website many years ago, where I got their Smile mp3 and made my own rendition of the great ending in Adobe Audition. The guy who advised me about that program doesn't seem to be in this video, I think he was the baritone. Great video! Great song!

  • @b33p do you still have the mp3?

  • @atteheikkinen I don't have Smile in my email anymore, just some others.

  • I sang with Mike back in high school and college, when he was first starting out. Amazing then, amazing now.

  • Did anyone time that last note he held?

  • @mr89firebird it was 20 seconds, but I've heard him hold a G for 50+ seconds!

  • He killed the last note. just killed it. amazing job.

  • more tenor LOL love u timi

  • @PrimaDonnaBass I don't think anything will ever top Crossroad's contest winning "Lucky Old Sun."

  • Not saying I don't love this rendition of "Smile." Tim is the man. I wish Late Show was still together. They were awesome!

  • Hey do you have the sheet music or do you where I can get the sheet music for this song

  • @zacfraser HAHA well you can get it from the tenons website. sheet music and all four parts on a cd

  • Is this the same arrangement New Traditions covered? If so, does anyone know the arranger?

  • this is SO AWESOME!

great quartet plus ninja fill-in tenor = phenonmenal barbershop!

btw i don't think late show are still together, which is real sad, what a quartet!

  • crazy, this quartet have an awesome sound. awesome song as well.

definately a performance i wish i could have seen live

  • What is the current rate to purchase Tim Waurick for a fill in on tenor?

  • That lead is epic.

  • I can't tell if it is the goosebumps or the lump in my throat. This performance may top "Lucky Old Sun" as the best live song of 2009! (Sorry Crossroads, this was a night to remember.)

  • they do all look slightly like the members of VS, well...very slightly

  • lol you're actually right except jonny usually (at least on youtube) isn't sporting any facial hair

  • we can dream =P

  • We did this song for Jazz choir, andwe compared..

    totally kidding..

    did NOT compare.

  • I love the look on the Lead's face at 1:59... It says it all. Great post, great tag. They rocked it!

  • Who is the arranger of this particular song?

  • Tom Gentry did this version. Great song, written by Charlie Chaplin.

  • tag.

  • GABE!!!! Congrats man!

  • Hey, Tim, when are ya gonna do a MultiTrack of one of your Sweet Adeline-range learning tracks from your TimTracks Website, such as "Puttin' On the Ritz" or, better yet, the "Smile Medley"!?

You could bill yourself here as the One-Man Sweet Adeline Quartet!

  • You won't believe the chill that just ran up my spine when I heard that last chord. Though I think the post kind of covered every one else up, but that happens when you have a post that high, lol.

Tim truly is one of the greatest!

  • As the guest tenor, Tim's attire is appropriate, IMO.

  • Looks like Tim missed the memo to wear striped ties

  • Nah, he's just a rebel.

  • Jordan Litz is Freakin' AWESOME!! future champ definitely!!

  • Is there actually a quartet in which Tim didn't fill in for the tenor? :) Great stuff man! He's the best in the history of... ever! :)

  • lol at the lead lookin at the bari after he took that breath before the last chord! LOL!

  • I noticed that as well but took it as a "Wow, can you believe this!"

  • ooh i just noticed if you look at the lead, he also takes a breath before the last chord.

  • for some reason that lead reminds me of the evil police guy from terminator...

  • About 35 years ago, I saw the movie "Smile," and now I think of that crazy film and Nat King Cole every time I hear this song.

Thanks for uploading this, Tim. Late Show's performance is absolutely fantastic!

Some of your chords literally made my speakers ring and shake a little bit. You guys are awsome. I love your interpretation of this song!

  • I agree on that post. The crowd couldn't contain it's amazement during the tag haha.

  • That was just awesome !!

  • I sure feel left out:)

  • Hmmmm.... They sorta look like VS from a slightly altered reality.

  • 1:12 on.... You sure made this song your bitch :D

  • so that's what the whole song sounds like! nice

  • nice, dudes!

  • As usual, great post timmy!

  • nice job guys! : )

  • Wow..Thats one heck of a post, as always though.
