  • OMG What a SHINE :O

  • So basically, you used a lot of energy taking it off, and putting it back on...why not leave it how it was? WTF!

  • did they repaint it to make it lighter so then can carry more cargo?

  • @dionsanchez24 no...lol

  • Chromate free makes moar corrosion even it is evironmentally friendly and that clear coat makes moar weight how did you said it is less weight in PAINT!? CLEAR COAT MAKES PAINT THICK AND MOAR PAINT WEIGHT!!!

  • I'm sorry, did the aircraft arrive and leave with the exact same livery? Seems like it to me, what was the point in that respray?

  • @HMSDaring1 They'd put some stuff on it which removed the paint ; 1:06

  • @afcaj0od yes its called paint softner

  • How does using chromate free paint reduce CO2 emissions? Sounds like more environmental psycho babble to me. Chromate free means more corrosion and shorter airframe life.

  • @Garcansdad once they see a obvious corrosion maybe they remove the paint at the corroded part then they paint over the corrode and removed paint

  • who recognized from under the gates, night - morning - night- morning

  • @Camoflaged3 me

  • 13.5 gallons less or basically 162 pounds less than before. for all those non pilots out there on a 747 that wont save them anything in terms of being able to take more cargo but i guess it makes sense if the plane was scheduled to be repainted anyway

  • whats the name of the song

  • i hope they recycle the masking tapes...

  • as far as I know the paint can weigh 1-2 tonnes, so 15% could count up to 150-300kg. That for every flight can add up to a lot of extra fuel

  • environmentally friendly? why even try

    its a fucking Boeing 747

  • @elbertproductions don't put the cusses on a 747

  • @WillowCric It's beautiful don't say that

  • Herpa does this a million times a year. No big deal. LOL.

  • Beautiful Same but Cool

  • Leuke vid. Maar waarom niet in 16/9?

  • @janjaapbats saves on paint

  • that would be a pretty dull job...

  • Other name for this video:

Tutorial: How to paint a airplane

  • 15% less paint = 35 kg IMO a lot of fuss about virtualy nothing. Why not let all passengers take a good shit before embarking.

  • @sonnylatchstring 35kg might not seem like a lot but that's not just one flight. A little less weight over a hundred flights saves you a pretty substantial amount of jet fuel. And as for the passengers, this one's a freight 747. No fuselage windows and they did paint "CARGO" on it.

  • @sonnylatchstring imagine it to fly for 15 years with klm. with one flight a day. and now it weights 35kg less. added up it saves a lot of fuel.

  • @sonnylatchstring I get your point, but think about it from the company's perspective..the save 1 or 2 days in doing it this way, which means lots of $!

  • @sonnylatchstring Over the lifetime of an aircraft that probably amounts to a reasonable fuel savings.

  • @sonnylatchstring hahahaha made my day XD

  • @sonnylatchstring yeah, that be one hell of an announcement to hear over the P.A. system........

  • @sonnylatchstring are the letters saying 'cargo' not big enough?

  • @Boeing1995ER meaning you believe they only paint cargo planes this "light" & "environmentally" way?

  • wats the song nem

  • what song was used?

  • KLM just shows Us! that Hard Work! Pays Off!!

  • cool

    where was done at?

  • cool

  • greattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • 2 guys are from star alliance

  • Go KLM !

  • 100 against 1 pal

  • @TeamKjell HAHAHA SO TRUE

  • klm is zo mooi

  • Love KLM's brilliant blue at 3:29

  • Gewoon TOF !!

  • Interesting video, but the music sucks.

  • Mooie film, zie ook eens hoe dat gaat, impressing very much

  • Dutch intelligence at it's finest! KLM royal Dutch airlines ja!

  • great vid.

  • New KLM Cargo

  • if u guys look at the big gate at the bottom it looks like it took them 3 and half days to make the paint

  • why are the rivet lines showing at 2:00?

And what does it mean by reduce co2? Does it mean the aircraft emits less co2 or the old paint emits co2?

  • @averredude101 The new paint design has 15% less paint in weight. The aircraft will weigh less as a result and can fly without giving out so much fuel

  • why does every airline seem to use a yellow coat before applying the color scheme?

  • @8justin88 I believe its a primer

  • @8justin88 It's a paste chemical that helps to clean off any left over bits of the old paint of. Extra paint means extra weight and extra fuel. Increasing costs. So they apply the yellow coat to cut down on extra paint and extra weight, in turn decreasing operating costs.

  • @16MattC ok. that makes sense. thanks

  • how manny dag go in to thise?

  • Nice vid!

(I thik KLM do that to save some weight for more cargo transfer :D ) Just a joke

  • What is the song??

  • Finally a video on youtube where we see how a KLM aircraft is painted! Nice - Geweldig!!!

  • Are our KLM tile contests going to be environment friendly too? :) I hope I make it :)

  • @rahulras I thought they use it for all kind of aircrafts, so I bet yes

  • Zonder Martinair logootje??

  • @MrKLMFokker Dat logootje word er later als sticker opgeplakt dacht ik! ;)

  • What was wrong with how it looked in the beginning?! :P

  • @dantorp11 i think they are just repainting it because it will make 15% less paint weight, and "environmentally friendly" too

  • @8justin88 Probably not.. U should know how mutch it costs to paint such plane. And not only that, u have to count workhours of employees to..
