ur processor is the problem dude, the FX series is the best when it comes to source games (at the time' they kicked the asses of the Radeon 9500,9600, and 9800pro cards.
Actually it was the other way arround. Do some research on why.
Had a 9600 myself and had an opportunity to compare it to FX5500. 9600 was better. It was only when the 6xxx series came out from nVidia that they started to crush ATI. Untill the HD38xx came out.
I run crossfire on this card 1366x768+ Q 6600 on a 32" when playing codwaw, fsx maxed out no trouble.
Good little card to have maybe better than the gtx because it's cheeper. some people will say, well way out dated. well it works good that's what matters.
hi, i got a pc of ebay with random parts stuck in it, its got a e4500intel, hd3870, 2gig ram ddr3 and a gigabyte mother, what can i do 2 improve it as i get under 20fps on crysis :(
Hi. Are you running it on high/very high settings? If possible, try OC-ing your CPU to at least 2.8Ghz. Or if you don't want to do that try putting some settings on medium, like shaders.
just goes to show that ati is still a generation behind nvidia, they cant even compare to the 9800 gtx or 9800 gx2. since amd bought ati both have been going down the toilet.... even though my cpu is amd lol
yeah i guess youve never heard of the gtx280 and gtx260 which was released a couple days ago, look up the benchmarks with that and 4870 ati gets slaughtered again. and the 4870 and 4850 are ati's counters to the nvidia 9xxx series. thats why nvidia is a generation ahead.
yea.. Hope these can run Farcry2 (probably a awesome game)... Ive got two of these in crossfire Overclocked, Intel Q6660 2.4 Ghz overclocket to 3.51 and 4 GiG ram.
I would hate to receive the cards he has handled. He apparently has never taken a clasee on ESD..electrostatic discharge. Can ruin electronics in the blink of an eye!
Ive got a sapphire hd3870 wich works fine but theres no way you can play games with the ram clocked to 2700mhz, tried 2600mhz and it works fine in 3dmark06 but oblivion craches after just a few seconds. No problem clocking the gpu to 860mhz thou, got 10500 3dmark in 06 at 1680-1050 and 11500 at 1440-900 with a phenom 9500 oced to 2,56ghz and gpu on 860mhz. And btw ATi is still weak in AA but works great with AF and higher resolution.
i was not talking about the x2 dumbass, i was talking about the 3870, not the x2 version. yes, the x2 is the best out now, but wait for the 9800 gtx, and btw, the phenom processors blow.
the phenom processors are the most advanced processors there is at the moment, u can clock each core individually. for example; u can hace 1 core @ 2.6GHz, 2 cores can be @ 3,0GHz, and the last one @ 2.4 GHz. thats a really smart way to save some power, and none of the Intel cpu:s can clock the cores individually..
are you sure? ive got a phenom 9500 and ive oced all the cores to 2.56ghz wich works great but if you truly can clock the cores induvidually could you show me a guide or something that shows how to do this?
Someone needs to use FSX as a benchmark. It is a really taxing game! I have just one 8800GT and it will run 30FPS w/ all the settings at medium in the middle of small cities...FSX all settings at max, autogen at max and in New York. This might be a great card, but it wasn't out last summer when I bought my 8800. Hopefully reliablity is good, b/c I have been burned by a 9800 Pro.
I love the video to :) and i know what you mean, 2 years ago my connection was 128/58 ... really sucked! now its 2048/512, really nice. Not the fastest but its enough for me ;) you should ask your mom or dad to pay some ekstra bucks to get a faster connection,
enough to play crysis on a 22 inch screen... My average FPS with 8xAA and Turned everything to best appearence... it all gows to a 45FPS average on a 1600 x wud i forgot.. really beat 8800 for gud.. huehue
radeons arent so great as they was few years ago.you remember great 9600s pro xt those series were great but 3xxx and 2xxx are unreliable. they arent so fast as gf8xxx series so if you want great feel of gaming much more fps and quality i will recomend only gf series and intel procesors
8800GT is faster, yes we all know that, but HOW faster? Well not noticeable difference at all. You can just throw in a HD3850 and won't notice a thing while playing games like Bioshock and for the price.......CMON you can't beat it so stop arguing.
I'm still amazed with the CARDS :( I have a 8800GTS :( but it's still good. I just don't get ATI cards, becuase I also use linux and ATI has bad drivers for linux.
