nice to see new creative ideas... although you have alot more work to do if you want to work as a creative professional.
Using stills in animation usually gives you a static look, and that's true in this case aswell i'm afraid.
In this case, why not play around with a videocamera and some homemade greenscreen and try out keying in final cut or after effects. Get creative!

wow you can afford Final Cut Pro? That's pretty cool! I'd suggest you buy a used mac and work with Final Cut Express then .. the computer and software would cost you about the same amount as Final Cut Pro :)
