We went from the plough to another pub however we had to walk through the grave yard on the way in the dark... My dad pointed out there had been a funeral friday because we could see the heep on mud by the stone... and as he said that i looked up and saw a man all in black looking over the stone above ground level.. we then got in the car and searched it up on google and we found out about the black abbot, i described him perfectly without knowing anything about him. prooves im not lying!
I saw this the other day. What a great advert for the place. After having never heard of Prestbury, I googled it, found the right one (not in Cheshire), and am now determined to spend a few days there.
Thanks so much for these clips,Ghostwatching....i really do enjoy looking at the old English villages, and listening to the ghost stories. At 1:53,the village still has s the red old telephone booth, that always reminds me of Dr Who. Hope they never remove those, there so iconic of the UK.
I live literally 2 miles from here and have investigated the village many times. The most unsettling area for me is the churchyard and the whole village has a totally different vibe at night than it has in the daytime.
@Breathlless Ok. I was sat on a bench in the churchyard one night at about 1 in the morning, which is right outside the church, just soaking up the vibe of the place, when i heard a noise from behind me inside the church. I turned round and saw a very faint luminous light coming from inside the church which had been in total darkness when i arrived. As i listened further i heard the noise again and this time it carried on. I realised it sounded like chanting and the hairs began to stand up on t

Then gradually the noise became inaudible and disappeared and the strange light from inside the church disappeared as well. I should explain the light shone through the high stained-glass windows of the church. Needless to say i then left rather promptly to face a sleepless night at home....This is just one of many experiences i've had in Prestbury. It truly is a very un
@Nigelcf That is really fascinating! Now I really, really want to go to Prestbury and see if I can experience something myself. But if anything like what you described would happen to me, I would probably never become myself again. I must say you are really brave!
@daydreamer1991white Thanks :) If you come to Prestbury you must come in the middle of the night, as its a very busy place during the day because its very close to the town of Cheltenham. I am fascinated by ghosts and have been since my uncle and granddad used to tell me stories when i was a boy. I believe where i live now is haunted but i'm not frightened, just intrigued.
@VampyrMentality I think it's actually called Great British Ghosts. I heard her mention it in another clip, and also at 4.33, it's written "Next - more Great British Ghosts" in the upper left corner. :)

Fascinating! I wonder if there is any special reason why Prestbury would be haunted by so many spirits?
Love reading all these comments/experiences too!
