Yea the best social program is a job, too bad a job can not be easily found without the aid of government social programs. The ideas of Charles Lollar and his tea party brethern may lower taxes and get rid of social programs however people's paychecks will certainly be lower and many people will lose jobs if social programs and government spending as a whole is lowered.

The point is that they are the sore losers that voted for McCain. They want to carry on the campaign even though Obama won by a huge majority and most people are fed up with failed Bush/Republican policies that squander all of our tax dollars on unpopular wars overseas. Obama may not be perfect, but at least he's better than 4 more years of Bush / McCain policies which served the wealthy and screwed the middle class and poor.

Actually, we weren't all that hot for McCain. And Obama didn't win by a huge majority. 31% is not considered a huge majority. It shows that GOP's stayed home. The Tea Party is about Americans both Democrat, Republican, Libertarian or whatever that are tired of their government overreaching into their lives and wallets and taking their money. Yeah,  it's a shame. If we were to cut military spending by half we could cut taxes and reduce the federal deficit. Under Bush, we had misplaced priorities that put America in the condition it's in. At least the money Obama is spending is helping Americans other than just the military. Military spending can bankrupt a nation as we've seen.

It is my feeling that the people really do want change, and that is why they voted for Obama, his message of change and hope really resonated with we the people. Too bad, we only got a lot more of the same. It is my feeling that real change is only going to come when the people finally abandon the two parties that abandoned them so many years ago.

There's no reason to believe that even if a viable third party came along and was competitive that they would be any different once elected. Power corrupts the corruptible, and most people seeking power are the worst. Nothing will change until Christ Jesus returns and establishes his kingdom on Earth. That will likely happen within the next 10 years.

I and my son were at the tea party & heard Mr. Lollor speak. He was very impressive as was all the speakers. All had great points. Everything he said was true and common sense. I don't think the current administration wants socialism...they want more than that, they want communism. It's sneaking up on us faster than most people think. However funny or sad it may seem, the 500-600 people (Sheriff's official estimate at 3:15 pm) who showed up on a sunny Sunday afternoon to express themselves and become energized have never done this before. This is a spontaneous and growing nationwide movement that comes from the grass roots up, not the top down. What's funny/sad about this is that they got just 300 people at their rally. That number represents just 0.3% of the number of people who voted for Steny Hoyer's last GOP opponent.

In other words, Steny Hoyer probably had a good laugh about them, if he was even informed about them at all.

First and foremost, Steny Hoyer is in a safe district, so I highly doubt he cares. All of the gerrymandering in this state left Calvert and St. Mary's County with ghetto Prince Georges and Ann Arundel Counties in our district, so Steny is guaranteed reelection (add on to the fact that House incumbents win reelection 94% of the time).

Second, Charles Lollor never challenged Steny Hoyer, so I have no idea what you are referencing.

By the way Martin, I was at the Solomon's tea party. There was no encouragement for violence, believe it or not people can be angry and peace full at the same time (contrary to DHS).
