That symbol existed WAY before Hitler adopted the symbol for the Nazi Regieme; in Asian countries, the symbol, called a swastika, represents peace or good fortune.

The only reason I know this is because one of the dungeons in the Japanese version of the original Legend of Zelda was shaped like a swastika; it caused quite a bit of controversy when the game was released in the US, and Nintendo ended up changing that dungeon's layout for the North American version of the game.

A number of cultures and religions have used the swastika long before Hitler used it, the first time in the neolithic (about 8500 BC). I love it when i see people using swastikas (not in the hatefull way), 'cause it means they wont let nazism ruin their symbol. Most people think of Hitler etc when they see the swastika, but they shouldn't.
