Another live performance in England, and another rude crowd that won't STFU and show some respect. Young British people are the rudest people on the planet.
Thank you soo much for uploading this live performance of this masterpiece from one of my favourite singer-songwriters of all time not to mention guitarist!
I find the tuning to be correct. Makes my limrinced heart would say this about the video - Shiver me timbers. Svoom Home Geece. Simpin Birdtserpin. Snafu. A wher a wheh a whir. WWJSmoke? WWWWY. Catch a 47. ULTRA catsup mustard and relish. Why is this the best song? Ohh wait dont tell me... I know.

Terry did a FANTASTIC version last night, in his home town, St Ives, Cambridgeshire, with his mum in the audience. Nattered to him afterwards......genuine musical hero. He played a number of songs from Seed of Memory, a stunningversion of "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" and a version of Rich Kid Blues to make the spine tingle.
@gibbley He could have been. Ever heard of Robert Plant or Ian Gillan? He was asked to front both Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, but he was touring opening for the Stones and couldn't commit to either project. He was actually the man that suggested Robert Plant to Jimmy Page. I hope to God he tours the U.S. again. I will fly ANYWHERE to see him
@gibbley Loooooong story. But he was Jimmy Pages first choice as lead singer of a band he wanted to create back in the 60's. Reid was busy touring with the Stones at the time, so he went with some other guy. Robert something.
Awesome video/song! I thought this video was great, I didn't see any struggling there. This man is one of the greatest singers/musicians from his time!! Thanks for posting this video!!
@crippledmidgets He was drunk, I was there but even like that he can pull this off. Once 2 years later I snuck into a soundcheck at The Borderline and asked to film his show and he led me to the head office and got me a photo pass & ticket for the show and then said,"Can you do ME a favour now?" "Sure." "Can you buy me a drink?" "Of Course." So he got a double Scotch.I had only £7.55 on me and it came out to be £7.50. Luckily I had enough on me; I didn't want to offend when he had been so kind!
you gotta take em to heart fuckkrs his days are old here. you got to hear this song on album version before you starts running your fucking mouth/keyboard. if you dont like it dont listen to it you fucks always thinkin......

OMG, This is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard. This is weird coming from a half black kid who listens to rap music. I wish he would come perform in Chicago.
this was a bad ass song. real talk....love that country soul kinda vibe..i never heard it till the rob zombie flick devils rejects. i wonder what terry was doing when he wrote this. was he one day just driving down a dirt road with heavy shit on his mind? song and vibe is heavy^^
You obviously don't know what you're on about, it's his closing song of hat looks like a low key, dark and sweaty gig, he's playing some unusual rhythms on his crazy low tuned guitar, whilst keeping a really strong melody going and on top of that there's a lot of feeling within the performance and you're complaining it's not as good as the original. That's the kind of thing people who have NO appreciation for the art of performance say.
@ted2sf Excellent comment. Not Terry's finest performance but still a fine rendition of a complex song by a man obviously not in the best nick (at the time)! Mr Reid is a star!!
Good to see you again, Terry one of the purest voices in the biz. I would love to see you live one more time. please come back to the states. Thank You for sharing this video.

WOW, I saw terry on 9/22/2010 at BB kings in NYC . He was incredible. Also he looked and sounded better than this video. He also told some pretty funny stories. I own superlungs, river, seed of memory, rogue waves , and the driver (not so easy to find ,bought it from a dude in sweden) If you dont have terry reid in your music collection get it. This guy made a ton of awesome music. He ended the show with a slightly different version of seed of memory, beautiful though. Keep Rockin Terry!!!!!!
@1180jrock... i was there, flew alone from canada just for that performance. a lucky 29 yr old who stumbled across terrys music decades ago and finally came across it years ago and since has changed my life. Sat with a stranger and mused as we took it all in . Took a cab back to my hotel in New York and realized how little of the truly beautiful world I have seen and it filled me with hope.
I apologize to Mr. SuperMcabral: Sorry, but I am very protective of Mr. Reid's image. Thanks for being polite in your rebuttle. I just want people to focus on Terry's tremendous legacy of great music. I gather you love his music too. All the best.

I was unaware of this man until Rob Zombie's movie. I consider myself fortunate to have been introduced to such heartfelt artistry. I was watching The Devil's Rejects and sort of nodding off until this marvelous, soul searing music came forth. Thank you Terry. We are shown our own humanity through your music. Thank you Rob Zombie for placing Terry's music where I would find it.
This is whats Music is all about. Half the people commenting this never performed live on Stage, so stfu! This is it! This performance proofs evrything real that Mr. Reid does! its absolutely impossible to put more soul in it than this.
I agree, "lininkelaar", haunting has always been a word I've thought of when I hear this song. 40 years later and the guy still sounds pretty damn good (especially that opening). Amazing and sadly underrated to the masses
I agree, "lininkelaa", haunting has always been a word I've thought of when I hear this song. 40 years later and the guy still sounds pretty damn good (especially that opening). Amazing and sadly underrated to the masses.
thys man plays with his heart i love your songs mann im from brazil and here you are beloved thanks for this music this is the most insane fucking awesomenes music of the world
@projektshun If there ever is a negative comment on this page for this song, it will be from an utmost AMATEUR........ and you could believe THAT!!!!!!!!!!!
@zakkchapmanfan It doesn't matter what key the guitar is tuned! You are still missing the point! The point is the guitar is still out of tune. What part of that didn't you understand? Please get a dictionary next time you post so you can spell your words correctly. I simply stated a fact and if you think it's not out of tune you need to learn pitch. But no, your know it all ass has to start calling me names in your first post. Needless to say the song is great and Terry is awsome as ever.
@bassiclogic lol oh I get the point.. loud and "clear". btw if u missed this pun like you did the last one, i can dumb down my comments for you. Good point though, Terry Reid is awesome he should give you some lessons...
@zakkchapmanfan Didn't miss your silly dumb Pun. I commented on the spelling of Gentalmen, it's Gentlemen. I hardly think a person with 46 years of playing experience that knows how to read music, has studied Theory and pitch who plays by ear as well needs to take lessons at this stage in life. I could be giving lessons if I wanted to. But I wouldn't have the time or patience for young idiot morons as your self, that knows it all. So if you have nothing constructive to add to this post bug out!
@str8toff I totally aGREE man the devils rejects soundtrack turned me on to reid and I love him ........so facinated by his music and this live performance issomething else man ..........u can really feel it .....and i am a guitarist and he is not even a guitarist he is a god ...dude the way he plays is like the guitar is part of him ...never seen anything like it
@MrSplatterhouse Yea, you said it. I play guitar too, but this is different. Somehow, his guitar just envelopes the story flawlessly. He's incredible, and the sloppy 'everyman' persona isn't an act. He's so honest and raw. I'd hate to be his drummer...thankfully, he doesn't need one!
I hope the likes of the Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber and any other disney channel/youtube music spawn see this and realise just how fucking ridiculous and untalented they are compared to Terry and other artists like him (Jake La Botz and David "Honeyboy" Edwards to name but two). Which will hopefully lead to them fucking off or committing suicide, either is fine with me, though I'd prefer option two.
@theknife2006 In this country - what : the UK ? While I thank you for your rememberances of our troop that have fallen in all the wars across the world that you maybe didn't participate in, I think you got your head up ur ass m8 - You do realise that the world is not in the USA dont you ?
54 year old fucking rocker from waaay back. Can still belt out the vocals like a muthafucker! This is a classic example of a man who has lived music and survived the "industry". Not many out there like him any more.
@jaypiko you here this amazing song and that's all you can think to say. his guitar isn't out of tune, it's not in standard tunings. some people like to get a bit adventurous with their songwriting and knuckleheads don't get it!
Found my way here from a Deep Purple vid and a visit to wikipedia....Man what a voice what an amazing song. Here in Oz it's the Anzac day public holiday and this is the song I stumbled onto.... I have two young sons and God, Allah, Buddha whoever.. I pray they never have to go to war!!! Why is it still happening? Peace and love to all.
Oh my god, he still had that incredible voice. Now don't get me wrong about what I'm about to say, because Robert Plant was my absolute idol with Zeppelin. And I still love that stuff more than I can describe. But truly, even I must admit that if you listen to a vocal performance of Robert's from 2006, and compare it to this guy's vocals...there is no comparison. I'm truly impressed...not great guitar playing of course...but that voice. My god!
I'm highly impressed that he can suck so bad on the guitar and still make me get chills. He looks like he was about to keil over from a cocain overdose but his voice and the message behind those lyrics more than makes up for his lack in the other areas.
There's still some good music around nowadays. You might just have to search for it a little harder. You've got to remember that not all the music from the 60s and 70s was this good either. That's why stuff like this is considered gems.
Terry Reid opened for Cream at The Baltimore Civic Center way the Hell back in the late 60's, and was mezmerizing. "Season of the Witch" was haunting. Just TR, an organist and a drummer. Forty years ago and I can remember that night.
So glad I lived through and experienced the music of the 60's and 70's. Nothing like it!
@pyannaguy Hey i respect that but im kinda glad i didn't live back then because all it was, was people on acid, trippin out on magic mushrooms with long hair sitting on grass fields smoking dope. No offense but id rather live in modern times and be drug free and listen to a wider range of music.
Hi, UkMetro, The 60's & 70's have really been typecast and stereotyped, but, honestly, there was big variety in rock sounds and lots of open doors in all aspects of life. The iconic image of the typical hippy is really a cliché.But, I hear you. Don't forget, though, that this (your) era will seem quaint and old-fashioned, too, in time.
He still had a great voice.

I agree, "lininkelaar", haunting has always been a word I've thought of when I hear this song. 40 years later and the guy still sounds pretty damn good (especially that opening). Amazing and sadly underrated to the masses

@zakkchapmanfan--- Still out of tune, you tone deaf fuckin mute!
bassiclogic 1 year ago
@bassiclogic so u agree im right about the key but insist its out of tune.. but im tone deaf?? ladies and gentalmen thats "bassic logic" for you.
zakkchapmanfan 1 year ago
@zakkchapmanfan It doesn't matter what key the guitar is tuned! You are still missing the point! The point is the guitar is still out of tune. What part of that didn't you understand? Please get a dictionary next time you post so you can spell your words correctly. I simply stated a fact and if you think it's not out of tune you need to learn pitch. But no, your know it all ass has to start calling me names in your first post. Needless to say the song is great and Terry is awsome as ever.
bassiclogic 1 year ago
@bassiclogic lol oh I get the point.. loud and "clear". btw if u missed this pun like you did the last one, i can dumb down my comments for you. Good point though, Terry Reid is awesome he should give you some lessons...
zakkchapmanfan 1 year ago
@zakkchapmanfan Didn't miss your silly dumb Pun. I commented on the spelling of Gentalmen, it's Gentlemen. I hardly think a person with 46 years of playing experience that knows how to read music, has studied Theory and pitch who plays by ear as well needs to take lessons at this stage in life. I could be giving lessons if I wanted to. But I wouldn't have the time or patience for young idiot morons as your self, that knows it all. So if you have nothing constructive to add to this post bug out!

@str8toff I totally aGREE man the devils rejects soundtrack turned me on to reid and I love him ........so facinated by his music and this live performance issomething else man ..........u can really feel it .....and i am a guitarist and he is not even a guitarist he is a god ...dude the way he plays is like the guitar is part of him ...never seen anything like it
MrSplatterhouse 9 months ago 17
@MrSplatterhouse Yea, you said it. I play guitar too, but this is different. Somehow, his guitar just envelopes the story flawlessly. He's incredible, and the sloppy 'everyman' persona isn't an act. He's so honest and raw. I'd hate to be his drummer...thankfully, he doesn't need one!
milehighmayhem 1 month ago
I hope the likes of the Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber and any other disney channel/youtube music spawn see this and realise just how fucking ridiculous and untalented they are compared to Terry and other artists like him (Jake La Botz and David "Honeyboy" Edwards to name but two). Which will hopefully lead to them fucking off or committing suicide, either is fine with me, though I'd prefer option two.

54 year old fucking rocker from waaay back. Can still belt out the vocals like a muthafucker! This is a classic example of a man who has lived music and survived the "industry". Not many out there like him any more.

Is it just me or is his guitar out of tune?! Fak...
jaypiko 1 year ago
@jaypiko you here this amazing song and that's all you can think to say. his guitar isn't out of tune, it's not in standard tunings. some people like to get a bit adventurous with their songwriting and knuckleheads don't get it!

Found my way here from a Deep Purple vid and a visit to wikipedia....Man what a voice what an amazing song. Here in Oz it's the Anzac day public holiday and this is the song I stumbled onto.... I have two young sons and God, Allah, Buddha whoever.. I pray they never have to go to war!!! Why is it still happening? Peace and love to all.
hitchdahiker 1 year ago 2

@joshualeeify DUuuuuuude, the guitar playing is good, you just know nothing about guitar playing jeeeeez WHAT IS UP WITH THESE SNOTTY KIDS!?
ted2sf 1 year ago
There's still some good music around nowadays. You might just have to search for it a little harder. You've got to remember that not all the music from the 60s and 70s was this good either. That's why stuff like this is considered gems.

Terry Reid opened for Cream at The Baltimore Civic Center way the Hell back in the late 60's, and was mezmerizing. "Season of the Witch" was haunting. Just TR, an organist and a drummer. Forty years ago and I can remember that night.
So glad I lived through and experienced the music of the 60's and 70's. Nothing like it!
pyannaguy 2 years ago 2
@pyannaguy Hey i respect that but im kinda glad i didn't live back then because all it was, was people on acid, trippin out on magic mushrooms with long hair sitting on grass fields smoking dope. No offense but id rather live in modern times and be drug free and listen to a wider range of music.
UkMetro 2 years ago
Hi, UkMetro, The 60's & 70's have really been typecast and stereotyped, but, honestly, there was big variety in rock sounds and lots of open doors in all aspects of life. The iconic image of the typical hippy is really a cliché.But, I hear you. Don't forget, though, that this (your) era will seem quaint and old-fashioned, too, in time.
Good talking with you! ...Peace....
