i agree with wesleync. i was born in 1987 but hearing what my mom listened to back then sound really cool to me. but then again i was used to it. she listened to alot of big bands and aritsts like mariah carey, whitney houston, elton john, black sabbath, alice cooper, twisted sister, metalica, etc.

A lot of times it has to do with the venue and circumstances before the show. This show took place way out if the middle of nowhere, EVERYONE had to drive to it as there was no transit. Plus there was a snowstorm. Also the venue had such tough security , ie no drinks inside concert area, no cameras ( i snuck mine in and got caught after 2 videos and told to shut it off or leave) I saw her later that year at Edgefest and it was outside full of emo types and they enjoyed it quite a bit and rocked.
@wesleync You can't expect a decent crowd at the venues she plays these days (state fairs, casinos and festivals). I just saw her tonight at a fair show in vancouver. Seniors and obese people had camped out with lawn chairs at the front of the stage but she still kicked ass. I would love to see her headline a club show to people who came to rock.

Yah...Oh Yah! I'm in an all 80's tribute band and we just started covering this song a few weeks ago. We have played it at two shows so far and both times the audience loved it. Joan is an 80's ICON and one hell of a rocker!

For those who made the comments about JJ's substance abuse problems, you are mistaken. Joan Jett follows a "straight edge" lifestyle which shuns alcohol and drug use. Anyways, to expect every live performance to sound the same as a studio recording is unrealistic. The fan who recorded the video most likely caught Joan on a bad night. She is still an awesome performer and a hot lady.
