  • im baffled.... does it have brass as well?

  • @CalmBefore6 Sure does. Brass, winds, mallets, percussion, etc.

  • @hamsteralliance only the kontakt or the komplete 6 bundle? why would i buy the bundle then? :)

  • @CalmBefore6 Because the Komplete bundle has a whole bunch of other things which you might find useful. If you go to the NI site they have a chart showing you what's in each bundle. For instance, Komplete 8 comes with Heavyocity's Evolve Mutations 1 and 2 which are great patches for epic filmscore music.

  • @hamsteralliance all right thanks a lot man! Ill be going with the komplete then. U really helped me a lot with this video and everything! Keep it going!

  • Too bad they are like, 16 gigs. For someone on a budget, thats a LOT of space for 1 harddrive.

  • Check out my video for Komplete 8 Ultimate. It's linked in the video description and as a video response. :)

  • I like this composition.

    me gusta esa composición.

  • .... You'd be surprised at how often that 7-1-5 riff is used..

It's in about six million j-rock songs, perhaps more notably that early 2000s radio hit Until The Day I Die by Story of the Year, etc.

  • lead is the riff from papa roach's last resort

  • Gah! Why can't I make my kontakt 4 orchestral strings sound like this?!!!!?!?!?!

  • This is really good, can't wait till Komplete 7 arrives xD

  • umm,,, can u help me,,?!

fyi. im using fruity loops and cubase,,

do u know how to slide the note or bend with kontakt 4?? just like u bend the guitar string to make the note hi-er,,,

using other plugin, like sytrus/toxic biohazard/sawer/etc i can easily do that in the piano rolls in the fruity loops, but not with kontakt4.

    will apreciate ur help :D

    thx

  • sounds great, it sounds like papa roach....

  • What's better Kontakt 4 or Garritans Personal Orchestra??

  • Very well done...I just purchased Kontakt 4 yesterday...Worth every penny...I love it.

  • can any one tell me the best refx nexus or kontakt i fount nexux better then it can any one suggest best ??

  • what is the name of this genre? Very cool! Like in the movies

  • 参考になります。まじで助かります。VIENNA SPECIAL EDITION買うかKONTAKT 4買うかKOMPLETE 7買うか迷ってる・・

  • can u use this in fl studio?

  • @alecakaswitchez Jup, as a VST plugin ^^

  • @alecakaswitchez No point.

  • @TDMusicSounds i hear u the libery has not installed at all

  • @alecakaswitchez Yeah, its a bit buggy, you can always call support, but I recommend switching to a different DAW like Cubase, much more professorial , and you can get most out of a product like this.

  • @TDMusicSounds yh i might just call or something because i dont even hav cubass or anything else like that thanks 4 the help btw

  • very gooood sound

  • If you have kontakt 4 and want a great replication of ARP's quadra synth and ARP's 1970's analogue sequencer then please go to my channel and play the virtual quadra video-its available from my site for cheap as chips.Massive Kontakt instrument and library.

  • what strings u use ?

  • @DJDangerBeatz The strings shown in the video and video title and video description. :P

  • boa, could you please tell me the notes of the start melody?

you can send me a PN or something... this melody is just great

i know it from somehwere else, but dont know exactly..

    THX a looooot =D

  • @defirmed I don't know what key it's in but just by ear I can tell you the intervals. Let's assume that it's A minor. The melody notes would be A-C-B-C-E-C-B-C (2x) then change the root A to a G and continue the upper melody, then to F, then to E. The bass pedal progression follows the same pattern except the last note returns to G instead of E so it's really an inverted E minor. (Assuming this was in A - minor) Cheers!

  • How could you mix Hip-Hop drums with orchestral sounds? that is unmixeble! great sounds by the way

  • I got east West symphonic Orch. But for HipHop its Not good, because the Reverb is to Strong, even when u put the off

  • Pretty good :)

BUT, East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra is still the best for me :P

  • i started out with a simple keyboard, then Audacity, then FL Studio, and currently Propellerhead Reason 4... i DEFINITELY wanna add Kontakt to this big list and combine em all together to see what i can make of it...

  • terrible and awful strings attack!!! as usual

all string libraries have same problem

with attatck of strings and Sustain

    what a sadness

  • help everytime i try to load sound it says file missing :(

  • @hamsteralliance Sounds great to me - given that this is a demo tune, I don't suppose you'd be willing to provide the midi file? Apologies if you've already been asked this.

  • @bitterbaws I use tracker software, so there isn't any midi file to share. :)

  • @hamsteralliance Renoise i'm guessing? :D

  • @tekkentool Jeskola Buzz. :)

  • @hamsteralliance Even better! i don't nearly use jeskola buzz enough, very powerful but it's quite annoying interface wise compared the genius of renoise's UI.

  • Can you use kontakt 7 with reason 4 or reason 5 ?

  • @RufisMusic there is no Kontakt 7.

If you mean Komplete 7, then no, because it is a collection of VST's which are plug ins.

Reason is not compatible with plug ins, only "ReFIlls" sold specifically as expansions.

  • @neblixsaber yeah, i meant Komplete 7... And thanks :)

  • How do you record using kontakt 4 ?? It'd be great if you could answer, thanks!

  • this program is hugee!. the sampler is like 500mb and the libaray is like 36 gigs!

  • I am having trouble finding info on NI's DAW, whats it like ? At the moment I use Reaper and FLStudio but would prefer a contained environment.

  • @trulynot They work on both! I have tested them in both Reaper and FL studio. I use FL studio most of the time. They are also stand alone programs.

  • @Lindahl Ok, thanks :)

  • @trulynot You're having difficulty finding information on it because there is no such thing!

You might be thinking of NI's Kore, but that's not a DAW. It's self contained in that it can be used standalone as a means of using synths and stuff in a live setting, and it has lots of interesting routing options and stuff, as well as a hardware controller custom designed for it. However, if you want to record with it, you'll still need to use it as a plugin within a DAW.

  • @jimbobbolooki Ahh, yes. Thanks, just found that out recently. I downloaded the Free Kore player and also Reaper, got both up and running . Sounds fantastic, I think I may buy Komplete elements.

  • does this work with logic pro 9?

  • @MrUlysses69 yes it does

  • @MrUlysses69 Yes

  • wow that sounds amazing. well done to NI and well done to you too for figuring what the hell all those twiddly things do :P

  • The chord progression is so textbook

  • @octilliondollars as is with most music out there...

  • @octilliondollars True, but the point of the video is to demonstrate what the library actually sounds like.

  • auw snap! sick beat!

  • does this work with ableton while ableton is running?

  • does this work with FL STUDIO XXL PRODUCER EDITION.. get back asap.. thanks !

  • @ThisIzBHX Yes.

  • @hamsteralliance can you upload a video of how to load it up in FL etc.. much appreciated.. thanks

  • @hamsteralliance Ableton suite 8?

  • @ThisIzBHX yes super yes!

  • @ThisIzBHX Yes.

  • @ThisIzBHX Theres better programs the Kontakt for Orchestral

EWQL Goliath, Gypsy, Ministry of Rock

    VSL

If you're gonna buy it not hack it get the ones I mentioned!

  • @ThisIzBHX Theres better programs the Kontakt for Orchestral

EWQL Goliath, Gypsy, Ministry of Rock

    VSL

If you're gonna buy it not hack it get the ones I mentioned! They work in fl yes before you ask!

  • @ThisIzBHX yes all ni plugins work with fl studio

  • just a question, can i use the kontakt 4 (with the kontakt 4 library) as a plug-in in garageband? i only use the jam pack plug-ins and they're not too good.

please reply. i'm not really that good in music technology hehe. you can listen to my composition, it's entitled "Levitas" (new age style). thank you :)

  • @dreuxschwartz There is an Audio Unit version of Kontakt, which is the type of plugin Garageband supports. :)

  • Sounds like last resort (papa roach) lol sounds awesome though.

  • @killyourself2862 Yes, the only thing that changes is the bass line.

  • @mokuchley You can run Native Instruments stuff as standalone applications.

  • @hamsteralliance But can you record as standalone? cause I can't find a way to do it, I have adobe audition 3 and im able to use kontakt as a plugin but I can't get adobe audition 3 to respond to my usb controller

  • can i use Kontakt with reason? if not, what about protools?

  • @HenrydeBeli You can use Kontakt in any program that supports VST, AU or RTAS. Protools supports those. The last time I used Reason, it didn't. :)

  • @hamsteralliance Thanks for the tip Ham! Is it possible to get more instruments for reason? I need pianos strings and instrument sounds I need to go beond synths!

  • @HenrydeBeli There are sound packs for Reason. I believe they are referred to as Refills.

  • @HenrydeBeli Reason does not support any additional instuments, so anything you get thats an addition to what comes with the reason library will just be presets of the native reason instruments.

  • Could you upload a midi of this?

    Awesome :)

  • @X820NL I don't have one. :O I use Tracker software, so there's no midi export.

    P.S. Mortal Kombat 9 looks amazing. :P

  • @hamsteralliance Haha, doesn't it? :)

Well, thanks for the heads up man.

  • I love Native Instruments

  • i use chris hein horns

  • nice

  • wow, this it´s super nice, amazing, i´m going to buy it

  • How much more realistic can you make the instruments sound? I want to get VSL.

  • @tweekin001 It depends on how you use the instruments. If you avoid things that will sound fake, such as repetitions or solos, they can be very convincing. This example intentionally has both.

VSL proper is indeed far superior as it has way more articulations and velocity levels. :)

  • @hamsteralliance Thank you, hamsteralliance.

What did you mean by "VSL proper"?

  • @tweekin001 The orchestral sounds in Kontakt 4 are from VSL, but they've been cut down quite a bit.

  • @hamsteralliance Could adding a decent amount of reverb to the solo violin make a big difference? How're the saxophones, BTW?

  • @tweekin001 Perhaps. I left everything in this demo on the default reverb settings. There's a convolution reverb built-in that loads with the orchestral samples.

The sax is alright, nothing magical. I use it in my track, "Corona". If you want a real killer sax sound, get "Mr.Sax" from Sample Modeling. Works with Kontakt 4 and is absolutely beautiful.

  • @hamsteralliance Whoa, I just listened to some samples of Mr. Sax! Supposedly it's powered by Kontakt 2. Is it just one saxophone? I'd like to be able to use a very realistic sounding alto sax VST that can pull off the likes of John Zorn (particularly within the Spy vs. Spy. album).

There're no dry settings for the instruments? :( I like the idea of having the ability to completely dominate the room's sound you can achieve.

  • @tweekin001 They have various saxes, check their site.

Also, the reverb in the Kontakt 4 stuff is convolution - you can change it to whatever you want or disable it. All of the sounds are perfectly dry and were recorded in an anechoic chamber; they just load up a reverb preset by default.

  • well the beat is def hip hop influenced.. just about anything timed right can fit the beat.. even country if u want to.

  • dude, thats great..but i'm always asking myself, what kind of music is that? o.O

I love this kinda music, but don't know how to call it, can u all please help me o.O

    THX a lot

  • @defirmed Symphonic Electronic? Haha. I don't focus on genre much, I just like making stuff, so I don't know of a name for this. It's just mah style! :)

  • @hamsteralliance yeah i thoughrt so, but there are lots of songs like this on the internet...this HAS to be a genre, I just wanted to know how its called xD

  • Suena un poco bastante de mentira.

  • Are the drums included in the library? If not, where did you add them from? This is pretty close to the music I'm trying to write out.

Also, can I just assign tracks to midi channels from Midis I already made?

(lol I know it sounds like i'm talking to tech support but you sound like you know what you're doing)

  • @MustaineV The drums do indeed come with Kontakt 4. They're part of the, "Urban Beats" pack.

As for midi assignments, yup, it can be used that way. :)

  • @hamsteralliance Thanks man!

  • I am not sure if I am impressed or not. The strings do not sound real enough. Hollywood strings sounded more real but still convinced by either.

  • @charlesprinceofswing It's a budget string library, for sure. You get what you pay for. If you're looking for the best string library out there, it's probably still Vienna Symphonic. Search for, 'vienna solo strings' on youtube to find a demo of it. That user also has demos of the other instruments. :)

  • @hamsteralliance That's really kind of you to take the time to answer me I will check it out for sure. Thank you

  • @charlesprinceofswing EWQL Orchestral, Hollywood strings, Vienna Symphonic.

They're are real sounding as recorded instruments go.

  • hey. i dont really know what im doing. how do you load the instruments into logic express???? so that you can just grab em and record like you would with any other pre-installed instrument.

  • @BullzEye14 Search on Youtube for, "The Long Way Kontakt" - the first result will be a video about using Kontakt 3 in Logic 8. I assume the process would be similar for Kontakt 4 in Logic Express. :)

  • i'm thinking about getting this

  • the strings sound great! can't wait to get it ima go in

  • was this suppose to be hip hop? if so the drums way too low

  • They're hip hop drums, but the track isn't hip hop. I don't focus on genres when making music. :)

  • Chea, I respect that!

  • I'm not sure if you have any experience with Fruity Loops, but that is what i have now and i'm looking to upgrade to something Professional.

Is this pretty much like it, where it's a step sequencer with piano roll to edit the samples and everything like that?

  • Kontakt 4 is merely a plugin, so by itself it's not much good for sequencing. I don't think it has a piano roll in it.

FL Studio is plenty professional; don't convince yourself that it's not; your software is what you make of it. I use a freeware sequencer called Buzz Tracker for everything I do. :)

  • @hamsteralliance i agree i say use whatever you like the best, dont go around saying "oh u aint real cause u use fl studio!"

  • what is best one if i wanna make some hardstyle and hardcore??

  • The Native Instruments Massive synth would be worth getting. Also the Voxengo VST effects; Elephant, Varisaturator, Boogex (free), GlissEQ, Crunchessor and LF Max Punch. Those will help you achieve some really heavy distortion and get the most impact out of your synths and drums.

  • Woah! Tons of gigabytes! This one has nice sounds, but... my kurzweil pc3x has about 40 MB (!) of samples in flash memory and still it has the power to sound very similar!

  • Whoa man! Nice strings and stuff! That was cello at the beginning right? Then im guessing viola or violin kicked in after that cymbal sound thingy... lol. The pizzicato sounds real good along with the piano.

This is Kontakt 4 correct? It comes in the pack called Native Instruments Komplete 6, but where do you find/buy that? What other instruments are there in this/it's for FL studio 9 right?

Sorry for all the questions.... lol just seems like an interesting product.

  • 1. cello: yes.

    2. other instruments: yup.

    3. Kontakt 4: yessir.

    4. Komplete 6: I got it on Amazon. You can also buy it direct or at a music store like Guitar Center.

    5. Other instruments: It would be best to check out the Native Instruments site, because there are a lot of instruments in Kontakt 4 and Komplete 6.

    6. FL studio = it's not specifically for it, but it'll work in it as a VST.

    :)

  • Great piece, I love it!

Is the drum sound also from Kontakt 4?

  • Yeah. Kontakt 4 comes with some "urban" drum packs.

  • can anyone please let me know how to use multiple tracks in kontact 4.

  • nice tune... the sounds are all from kontakt 4? what sequencer did you use for that? 5/5 *****

  • Jeskola Buzz Tracker. It's freeware. I use it for all of my tracks.

If you wanna hear some further tests with Kontakt 4's strings and piano, check out my latest, "Nihilist" - there's a vid for it on my channel. :)

  • that sounds great!!! 5 stars

  • Good sound!

    Nice job on the construction!

  • edirol orchestra is not bad either

  • @theguitarlol but this is 1000x better than edirol. when i get this, bye bye edirol

  • Native Instrument zi Best !!!! What would I do without it !!! hahahahaha !!!

  • Great demo sequence here.

Have you figured out how to use legato w/ the orchestral instruments?

  • As in activating slides between notes? Nope. The few times I attempted to do so, it wasn't glaringly obvious as a keyswitch or anything, so I assumed it wasn't an available feature. I'll look through the documentation eventually. :)

  • thank you very much, I was wondering, how good do those Kontakt vsti s sound, now I know :)

  • How exactly do you use the sounds in composing music? so far I have this package and fruity loops. Is there some way to connect ANY composing program with this so you can make music? if not, how are you doing it? Thanks if you answer

  • I load it as a vst plugin. Should work in FL it has vst support.

  • hi, lovin this orchestrated version...amazin...!!!...what is the name of the vst(s) ur using???...can the same plugin be used in fl studio 9???...

plz tell me the names of as many as you can...

espically the strings and the piano VST???

    thx...great version 5/5 *****

  • The vst is called kontakt. The piano and string sounds come with it.

  • a substantial update. ordered mine last week.

looking forward to putting it to work.

  • Ok. I read the system requirements and it says there: "1 GB free disk space / 48 GB for complete installation required." What does that mean? At the moment I don't have that much hard disk space available. This might be a really stupid question, but...

  • It comes with a ton of samples. The 1 GB would only allow you to install the software but not the sounds that come with it. I guess that's for people who want to hand-pick their sounds or store the them on another drive.

If you want to install all of the samples you're going to need 48 GB of space.

  • yep

  • Does Kontakt 4 require lot from your PC? I have a few years old laptop (pretty good one) which I've used for some simple music making, is it going to run this effortlessly?

  • It should run fine. I've used NI stuff on my prior PCs just fine.

NI stuff is not without it's issues though. Even on a high end PC there are still some dropped notes and stuck notes. I think it has to do with the disk streaming.

As long as your HDD is a decent speed and you've got a 1 or 2 GB of ram though it should work. You can balance how much of each it uses in the settings.

  • do you get the full version of Kontakt 4 when you bought Komplete 6? cuz im confuse with the price they put like the Kontakt 4 is $379 and Komplete 6 is $499.

  • Yeah, it's the full version. Komplete is definitely a better deal than getting just one of the plugins by itself.

  • thank you very much for answering back, now I'mma bout to go buy the Komplete 6

  • Yup thats great marketing! but you do get the full version

  • what do you mean by the melody ripping something off? does kontakt 4 have an automatic melody feature

  • No, I meant the notes and chord progression I chose reminded me of something else. :)

  • yeah, "my december" by linkin park. i hear the similarity too

  • this shit is crazy

  • great performance!

  • I can hear what you were talking about about the "fakeness". I think it sounds more like it is in the sustain rather than the attack.

  • Oh shit nice.

    Kontakt 4 FTW

  • More like this, please!

  • Kinda reminds me of the music from those old Hayao Miyazaki movies.

  • Lol the riff reminds me of the guitar riff in Last resort by Papa Roach.

And no I'm not into Papa Roach...

  • AHA! That's exactly it. I knew it was something, I just couldn't figure out what it was. :P

  • Actually sounds like a cross between that and Requiem for a Dream

  • it does wow...
