  • Rob Williams Guitar Demo by 'ibanezrule' lol

  • superb playing dude. the tones are to die for. my brother had his prs repaired a while ago, rob made an incredible job.

  • @washburnwi66 thanks alot!

Rob is really good at what he does!

  • great playing

  • thanks!

  • so does he build his own guitars, or does he spec them up the way you want it? i dunno...help!

  • he does both!

if you want a custom guitar you just tell him what you want!

  • Awesome playing mate!

Im thinking of trading in some of my guitars for a rob williams, how would you rate these as custom guitars?

  • I think they are the best guitars available, you really have to play one to see how you feel. I have played them all and now own RW exclusivley. Mind-blowing.

  • Hey pal,

Ive made contact with rob, hopefully he will get back to me soon!

  • great, I'm sure he will, I speak to him most days so i will mention your interest if you want me too? please let me know.

    Scott

  • That would be great, my name is Lee McDonald, Ive had an initial mail from him and I sent some specs over for him to ponder ;-)

I'll be catching up with him at LIMS to try some of his demo models.

  • Just spoke to him and told him about you. Take care. Scott

  • Yeah.

I picked up my line 6, and i was like "Wow this is thick!", i've got exams in an hour :(

I was looking at the Mick Thompson series guitars, and i was thinking of getting the

MTM2, for my birthday or buy it by saving up!

  • Scott, i've got my Ibanez :).

    Bit out of tune.

But if i bring it, will you tune it into D?

Or at least Back in tune, the guitar on a whole is amazing, nice pickups, neck etc..

Just needs in tune as its a bit flat :(

  • Will do, just remember to bring your bolt-keys that came with it!

  • Yeah, i was playing it just.

    The whole guitar is beatiful,

The neck is my favourite, i'm probably going to keep getting guitars in the RG series once i get a job. aha.

  • nice to hear you love it!

  • Scott the truth I need this audio, where I can obtain it free if you can give me a link or a web page

    Thank you

  • Excuse my question is of whom it is the song that you touch and as it is called the song and where I can obtain the track of the above mentioned song

    Thank you very much

  • The song was a backing track supllied by a friend. If you google 'Blues backing tracks' it will take you to the site were you can buy it. There are audio examples on the site so that you can find the one you want. hope this helps and sorry I needed a translation.

  • como se llama ese tema y de quien es? donde se puede c onseguir ese backing tracks

  • Sorry I don't understand. Sorry.

  • Scott! I'm stuck in between these two guitars!

The RG350DX I talked to you about and this RG350MDX I really like the maple neck. What do you think?

    See you next Saturday Mate!

  • both really nice mate!

for me I would be going for the MAPLE!!

    Just my choice!

  • Thanks alot Scott!.

Time to go and hassle my Mom for 4 Hours Straight!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey Scott, Sam here.

Looking for a Ibanez around £300-£400 for Christmas.

Got any ideas? And also i like the RG series. Just to let you know.

    Anyway see you Saturday mate.

  • Hi Sam, Ibanez make some great guitars in that price range, I would go for a nice RG - you can't go wrong with one of those really

  • Yeah sure i will Scott.

Just a quick burn on i-tunes will do it for me.

  • BTW, I'm on my Dads account,

    at the moment =[.

    Really annoying >:[

  • Hi, Scott yeah i'm fine, will you have a look at some tabs for Saturday for me, the song is Holy Diver by Killswitch Engage, bit of a Dio cover.

    See Ya Saturday Mate.

  • yep, will do, can you bring the track on cd?

  • Hey Scott, its Sam here from guitar lessons, coool video.

  • Hi Sam, how's it going?

    Thanks a lot!!!

  • Great as allways!

    How long have you practice?

  • Thanks, I have been playing over 20 years.

  • hey rushhanger, sorry but i hit 'remove' instead of 'reply' so I deleted your message by mistake.

    Thanks for your kind words

  • Other than this guitar I have and Alembic Orion which is a phenomenal guitar.I've not played any guitar that comes close to it in terms of sound, build quality and overall playability.

As for Konig, he stopped playing guitar and now and so asked me if I was interested in any of his guitars.

I like the Rob Williams sound of it because it is different from what I have already. In the mid and high register the guitar is fine but I do find it a bit unbalanced lower down the frequency range.

  • Strange that you find it unbalanced, I have never heard one that is. Any mods to the guitar? If not you really need to speak to Rob because there may be something he can do.

  • I would love to see a video of the Alembic, any chance you could post one?

I spoke to Rob today (as I do most days) and he is concerned about your guitar and very happy to help with the guitar.

Check out the responce from the man himself below.

  • Haha. Have you ever seen the list of modules and amps Carlos Santana is using on stage? Straight into a line6 POD? Amazing.

  • Thanks again.

  • Impressive sound. I just bought a PRS Johnny Hiland, but your sound is so much more powerful.

  • I recon an Orange Cabinet or Top.

    Ciao.

  • Incredible soulful playing man. Nice flow of tones too. You can play on and on like that. What is the difference between the Williams and a PRS for instance? What is your choice of amp and do you use also a sustain module or some kind of pedal?

Keep on posting these nice vids! Tnx.

  • Thank you so much.

The difference between a Rob Williams and a PRS (or any other brand I have ever played) is absolutely massive. The tone is so deep and defined, it puts every single guitar I have ever played to shame and makes them sound cheap. Rob hand builds ever step of the way to ensure a quality that really has to be played to be believed. I'm straight into a line6 POD here and that's it! In MY OPINION he builds the best guitars available and has no peers. I love them.

  • Beautiful tone sounds a bit like Guthrie Govan? Very well done!!

  • It's the guitar I reckon, it's incredible. Thanks.

  • Hi Just wanted to let you know I bought a Rob williams customised CSM guitar this afternoon from a Rob Williams first guitar endorsee and fusion guitarist Konig. It is the actual guitar reviewed in the Guitar Buyer magazine Nov 2003.

I've not had a chance to play it since I brought it home after buying it this afternoon from Konig himself, but I loved the sound when I went to try it out.

  • You have just got hold of one of the finest guitars on this planet. i have NEVER played a guitar that comes close and I have owned them ALL.

You have done well out of the deal but I have to ask why on earth did Konig sell it?

What does he use in place of it?

  • Konig, he stopped playing guitar now and asked me if I was interested in any of his guitars.

I went straight for the Rob Williams because it is a bit different from what I have already. On first impression with new strings, the mid and high registers are fine clear and crisp but I think it's a bit muffled with less clarity lower down the frequency range. I normally use an Alembic Orion which is a phenomenal guitar. I've not played any guitar that comes close to it in any way at all.

  • Hi, I'm Rob Williams, I built that guitar and haven't seen it for years. I'm sure it's due for a setup / service. Happy to help if you need it.

  • Hi Rob. I do feel it needs some setting up, but maybe I should get a feel for it for a while so that when I get ready for a service/setup I can base it on what I have experienced with it.

I think the last time I spoke to you about a guitar you were just moving from Brum to wales. Are you still based there as it would be a trek to get the guitar there for you to look at.

All the best and thanks for the offer.

If I were thinking of doing something like an upgrade, I would really like an ebony fingerboard and possibly a brass nut alter the coil tapping options on the pull up tone knob.

    Cheers

  • Do you think he has any more endorsements available?

  • You would need to speak to Rob about that.

  • Alrite thanks

  • Nice vid,ive been thinking of getting one of these guitars, can you do some more clips for us? cheers Mick..

  • Cheers, there are 10 videos of me playing Rob williams guitars on YouTube.

  • Hi scott awesome playing. love the sound and the guitar is superb i think it is your best guitar you have ever had.

  • Excellent, up to your usual standard Scott. Just needed a pint of Pedigree on the side rather than the bottle of American crap. *:0)

  • Thanks pip100, that 'bottle' was supplied for me by johnboy10....I WILL drink anything!!!!

  • Should be newcastle brown for that lush racket!

  • newcastle brown? this guitar is more vintage champagne don't you think!
