  • Love this film. It is so funny on so many different levels. It helps if you are mashed....but it's still funny.

  • this film gave pinback their name :)

  • Wow check out the state-of-the-art ice-cube tray computer console!

    CLASSICS NEVER DIE!

  • The actor at the beginning was a young Dan Ackroyd I'm certain.

  • For all of you who are questioning this movie, its a PARODY of sci-fi of the time, such as Star Trek and 2001: A Space Odyssey. And a brilliant paody at that. The cheesey SFX are a parody too, as are the mundane problems all overy the ship - communication problems, boredom, lousy food, fights between the crew. Things that could REALLY happen on a deep space mission with four men in a small ship. Not the idealized world of Star Trek.

  • One of my favorite all time films.

  • Dan O' Bannon wrote ALIEN! Came up with those ideas of a xenomorph creature and face hugger...and chest buster and a man as the hero not Ripley!

    HR GIGER Designed it.

Besides this being John Carpenters first film, Special effects were partyly created by Ronn Cobb. His 1st film. He designed the Space ships (Nastromo, Narsisis) in ALIEN & some interior shots of ALIENS. His work can be seen in Heavy Metal. The Magazines & Movies.

  • I want to eat this movie.

  • WOW check out the state-of-the-art tape drives!

  • Such a depressing friggin' movie. I have a hard time watching it sober.

  • Thank you....thank you thank you........

  • They look like a southern rock band, certainly.

  • Erm, why do they blow up planets? And why would anyone put an AI into a bomb!?!?

  • @blenderpanzi That's what's so funny about it. The movie gets it's humor from the poorly thought out tech of the future, like the intelligent bomb.

  • @blenderpanzi For comedic effect?

  • saw this at a SF convention in 1982.

  • thanks, man!.....i couldn't get this movie until now:)..

  • Thanks for uploading I've wanted to see this for ages

  • It's the first Full-Length Feature Directorial from John Carpenter. Way to go Carpenter!

  • Finally this movie got uploaded ... eventhough i avoid watching Sci-Fi movies, but i dunno why for some reason i wanna badly check this out.

  • squarhead, thanx for posting this! If you can get past the fact it was made 30+ years ago, not a bad film at all....I wonder if this was ripped off by that BBC series Red Dwarf? Cheers!
