if the woman does solo skating, then yes it is somewhat equally hard, however, Shaw does about 20 seconds of solo skating, thus your comment isn't true. The poise and balance she has for hard lifts does take a certian amount of skill, but its more to do with faith in your partner, its ALOT technically harder for the main (in the case of a celebrity.) Check the week where the challenge was to do a 360 rotation, Shaw just about does 2 turns, and Chris does 7 flawless spins, at a pro level...

haha.... Matt may have been more technical than Chris, however watch any of her performances, and she does about 20-30 seconds of solo skating, she has mastered poise and balance, but lacks the technical ability to skate solo. This lack of understand justifies your minus rating.

Ice hockey and figure skating/dancing on ice are 2 completely different sports. Anyone seen the film 'The Cutting Edge'? a Hockey player With Toe Picks is leathal not in advantage!!!

While the others were learning how to skate, Chris had to learn how to deal with the toe-pick - the others could learn this naturally as they developed skating ability. Chris would've found it very hard to adapt.

To say figure skating and ice hocky are in any way the same is a true dis-service to Chris' true talant on the ice.
