Sick build, but your downfall is the cpu cooler even though I know you replaced it. Great track also. Thanks for the video bro. How do you like your case?
he i have a question....in the 600t it specifies 1x USB 3.0, but it doesn't say if it's a header, or a cable that you thread though the rear. I have a USB 3.0 supporting board but no header, just the rear IO ports, and hate having left over front panel connectors that i have to hide and leave an useless port on the front panel.
Why do I always see people install the motherboard and everything inside the case first? Does nobody assemble it outside and test everything first before moving it inside the case anymore?
Then I removed the grill on top. You will notice holes for two 120mm fans.
The fans go on top and you use the long screws to attach it to the radiator.
I have the fans pulling the air at the moment.
Also, your MB/OS will have no control over the CPU fan speed; you will have to click the button on the Corsair block to setting one or two...unless you want your computer to sound like a airplane.
@frugis No, but the Z68 chip-set has a cool inlet feature called intel rapid storage technology. They use it on enterprise servers and now we have it on a consumer MB. All you need to do is plug it in the the correct sata port (i think blue in color) then you turn it on. It will use the RAID feature to fill up the SSD with the most used data (aka cache) Is about 80% as fast as having a SSD only solution. Works very well.
@frugis I also have Corsair Force, but it's v.3, not GT. It works perfectly fine for me, so yours ought to be good. Appropriate PSU. You have a 1tb HDD, so you won't have any storage issues. I recommend you just put the OS and some games/programs you use often on your ssd and make sure to leave about 15-20gb free space. The rest goes on the HDD ofc.
I would like to take a poll on how many people actually use an anti static strap. I don't know of anybody. The last time my friends or I used one was back in 96.
nice dud, in a few weeks i wil get my gaming pc :D. i have an old laptop on which i can only play old games, getting an 1300 euro gaming rig now :D! with a nice 24 inch monitor cant wait! wish i could get ur case 2! i was planning on getting it buy due to the price im getting a white 500r Take care !
@ksidornseif How would you gather that from my comment? If you check my original comment I was insulting the looks of the (iPod white, me too!) Corsair case. I don't see how you could equate a sleek Antec Three Hundred case (my current case) to an Alienware. My Antec happens to be the Illusion model with blue led's, but would have preferred without.
I have the same motherboard and processor and I think its safe to say that they are the best out there. In quality, price, and performance. Also that case is amazing as well. Best one I have seen yet.
@amfshultz I built about 3000-5000 computers. Mostly servers and workstations. Its really difficult to damage computer parts if you handle them well but I do use my sun micro systems bracelet if I notice excessive static.
@MarkSkrams Yes, this case was made with the H100 in mind. You mount it in the inside of the case but the fans go on the top (under the screen/vent) What Im not sure if there is room for a Push/Pull fan setup.
Good show, that's the easy bit done, the real fun comes when you switch the thing on and start configuring the bios and all the other bits so it all works correctly. lol
@HeavyWinds Doesn't it have a usb 3.0 pass through cable that routes to the back of the case because that's how I thought that's how this case was designed?
@mpalen19 it has USB 3.0 pass through, im gonna get something like this USB 3.0 card from newegg PN# N82E16815124101, has a slot that can power the top port and an extra 3 ports for the back. This is case extremely nice, cant wait to start my build after christmas
@mpalen19 would be nice, just leave the towers looks intact but add a second USB 3.0 port up top. a USB 3.0 header on a motherboard powers 2 ports, so if they put a header plug it would be wasting 1 port up top. I imagine they figured most boards at the time they released the case didnt have a header on the board. check out what this guy did in this video at around 6:45, although I dont really like it. watch?v=iFUO_RwTDg8

@HeavyWinds Yea just that that is a 240 radiator. They are great for just the CPU but I am looking to do a custom loop with the CPU and GPU (And eventually more). To effectively cool both I need a larger rad.
@MattCat8 Im a HardOCP fan. They really like all of the H series coolers. Only problem with a few is noise, to us games...that is a non issue. I guess the downside to a H100 is price around 110 bucks.

@doluseb Thanks. I have a GTX 570 in it at the moment. Runs almost everything very well at 2560x1600. I had the 5870 from a older build. Great card but it did not have CUDA i needed for Adobe products.
@3HACKRZ I guess more room to work with; but i can see your point if I did it the other way. I just like to have the most amount of room to plug in all the wires and screw down the MB.
