  • brilliant video

  • some really good stuff here

  • You don't respond at all do you Nfxbeats? I appreciate that you teach us the fundamentals of producing music It has helped me tremendously, but if you can't comply with something that you said before (If you have any questions email me or leave a comment)why include it in the first place?

  • The Pitch still sounds off tune is there any possible way of better doing this, without jumping my keys into high pitch?

  • really informative and interesting

  • check out my beat on my chanell , pretty good !!

  • This man knows what the hell he's talking about_ appreciate the vid, helped out alot

  • ey thanks dawg i learnd alot frum you

  • Thats whats up!! If you want some free kits check me out

  • How do u keep u kicks from drowning out the sound of your synth

  • @acebrother

    Sidechaining is Your Friend!

  • @acebrother either turn the bass on the kick down, or turn the synth up. but that effect is Sidechaining, and sidechaining usually makes song sound professional. i set a kick to modulate the volume down on my synths every time it kicks just so i can get that effect idk why you wouldn't want it.

  • @acebrother

    yeah, got the same problem

  • Do you know how you can hear the tunes in for example live ableton? There is no edison in live.

  • yo check my new beats , if you like them, subscribe to me, peace bro and very good tutorials

  • Umm when i click detect pitch regions nothing happens? Any idea why?

  • Fl Studio Dirty south-Runners Type Beat free flp-------->>/watch?v=klM15PjGFrQ

  • This is great. WarBeats is the man!

  • wou nice thnks

  • As an amateur fl user I thank you, you saved me time and unnecessary complications of transposing every single note hah.

  • very helpful tutorial, i say thanks :D

  • I've seen producers use autotune on 808 kicks. I guess that's pretty much what this is.

  • This was helpful, but man you took forever to explain a simple thing xD

(I do understand that not everybody is coming in with any knowledge at all, lol. Just sayin' :P)

  • lol.... tune EVERYTHING.... hi-hats, baselines, samples etc EVERYTHING!!!....

  • when i do 808 like this than is my bass line to long it wil sound crappy after i press play XD

  • you do not need to tune ur drums , your the idiot ... why would you tune ur 808 unless your gonna use the 16 levels ..

  • @DigitalDevilXL YOUR THE FRIGIN IDIEOT!

WHY DIDNNT YOU FRIGGIN CLIKC THE REPLY BUTTON TO THE TADENTT THINGY!

  • you do not need to tune your drums you idiot ... its only for bass lines...

  • @DigitalDevilXL lol your an idiot

  • hey man your tutorials have made me something else forsure bro thank you. have a listen when you can :D

  • how do i get 808 kicks?

  • Im doing a remix and want to mix an acoustic kik with an 808 and a 909- should I tune all 3 to a note in the key of the song(like the root note of the scale perhaps) or just the electronic kiks and leave the acoustic kik alone?

  • @DJControllerC or maybe dont even use the acoustic kik- just the 909, and 808- Ill have to some tests

  • ur the best

  • simplest way, mixer parametric eq. and warp the soundwave, and just screw with the mixer

  • what is that soft ware

  • what if edison detects two notes....one in the front and one in the end of the sample?

  • this was so verry helpful i knew how to put my kicks on the piano roll but i could never figure out how to get them to play in tune thnx allot man really helpfull

  • Such a little Tool, but so damn Powerful.. searched for a long time for this.. THANKS WARBEATS ! YOU'RE THE BEST !

  • Does anyone know how to make it so when you load a sample kick, and you play it on the piano roll, the sound from the last kick drum played will be cut out right when the next one is played ?

  • GREAT!

    Thanks a lot.

  • GO;;:MAKE~,.`BEATS,.`;ONLINE;:~

  • Thank you soo much!

  • lol, he's right. You are the Bob Ross of music.

  • one of the most useful tutorials! never realized I could change the root note that easily

  • Thanks for all the useful videos! Great stuff!

  • At 6:00 part of the video... isn't that called transposing? Transposing is the best

  • how can i get rid of sort of back ground distortion, it just sort of appears and starts to crackle whenever i put to many layers together?? suggestions would be much appreciated :D

  • @commonco1d Go into Audio Settings and turn up the buffer maybe. If what Guitarjas told you doesn't work.

  • I was thinking he's the Bob Ross, too! He's probably single handedly teaching music to more people than anyone in the history of the world.

One thing I was wondering, in FL... if you accidentally LEFT click meaning to change the root note instead of RIGHT click, are you just screwed? In about a year of using FL I have not figured out how to restore that to normal.

  • @tzankich Misc->reset (down above the keyboard)

  • @tzankich go to the misc tab and hit reset at the bottom

  • @fruitypebbles904 Thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • the kicks arent in the right notes. the A on the keyboard produces a E pitch (in case u didnt notice..)

  • Comment removed

  • When you tune the sound, is it possible to see the notes on the ''keyboard''? cuz i don't know my notes on piano so idk how i can tune it if i don't know where are the note i need to move.. C5 to B2 ''exemple'' in the channel settings.

  • @ICEBTTW usually when i want to see the notes,i open the piano roll and to the top left right above the keys you will see abc ,click that and the notes are shown. hope it works.

  • Comment removed

  • good lookn, bro...

  • hey why it detects nothing on mine? i selected a kick(westcoast style) and followed the steps but nothing happened

  • it doesn't work with my sample

  • On my speakers, it sounds like the original 808 sample you showed us is pitched at a G#, so if you just click on the INS tab in the Sampler and right click on a G# above the keyboard it will move the orange square over the G#. By doing this it tells the keyboard what the sample is originally pitched at so it can transpose accordingly and play the pitches actually represented by the notes in the piano roll.

  • you are my hero!

  • i have try'd this on a loop but that isnt working or is it only on 1 based sample?

  • @ChanoPlace "tune your KICKS" need i say more?:S

  • It sounds better without the 808 kicks entirely.

  • good tutorials but there too much of eeeh's and ehhhm's when you speaking it nerves.

  • excuse me but where can i get those 808 kicks?

  • @routestribealda hey he has those 808 kicks on his website warbeats.com and they're free! As well as other vst plug ins. Hope this helps. Stay blessed.

  • @MilitantBeats thanks a lot that really helps out bro

  • 2.32 the kick, where can i get it? its probably very usefull for me to have,

  • @Kardinalloffi shall i send you a similar one?

  • @feelingtranced yes please, but i already have these; VT_BD_2 and SD5204_bd, these were already in my fruityloops

  • You should not call this tuning your kicks. It's not. All you are doing is determining what it's already tuned to! and then changing the root key on the sampler so it tracks in tune on the keyboard. Tuning a kick is something different.

  • How do you transfer FL files from 1 computer to another without losing the data from the plug-ins. When I try to save my FL files to transfer, all that plays back are sounds that came with the original program.

  • @votefordante did you add the plugins with your flp

  • @votefordante u should put the flp along with everything you'll need such as Vst's and soundfonts in a zip folder

  • is there a way to avoid the bass from the kicks bleeding into each other? because that's the only problem i have right now.

  • nice tutorial! only problem now is to realise when something is out of tune because i didnt hear it at first... when you showed the fixed version, thats when i realised it. but thats too late :)

  • Fl studio is awesome

you need to download good vst or kits

then fl studio works its magic

  • great tutorial as always... 1 question, i tried this on a few samples but a few of them didnt show any info on the pitch, does tht mean there fine or? thx for ya time

  • Dis rly helped thx a lot!!! If u have free time u should check out my beats on my page! Btw I'm a big fab n a member of warbeats :)

  • Is there a way of making the kicks more staccato or more--uuuh...not staccato...Basically, I want to be able to control how the kick sounds. If I want a more big sounding kick, then i'd want to make it less staccato--I hope you can figure out what I mean. It's not reverb, just that the sound gradually peters out rather than stopping abruptly. Thanks for any help you can give...

  • Great tutorial, thanks.

    I got a question though:

DO you guys happen to know whether FL supports Velocity automation option? I have been searching REALLY long for this, haven't found it...

I need it for my orchestral instruments (no volume automation)

My orchestral instruments use multiple samples per velocity change per note (don't know if I said it correctly, hope you understand)

Thanks in advance, and keep up the great work

  • Ive been making tracks for yrs and never really thought to do this. thank u

  • thaaaaaanksss man im producing trance and i dont know abut the samples, is a good result do it with the hi-hats and snare?

  • sorry for putting here my coment; how i stretch an acapella witout change the pitch?

  • @SmokeyTheOso download them there are lots of links and sites all over for sound packs and stuff, but i have a new song up on my page check it out :) thanks leave some feedback

  • This could really help in that Deep Tech House kick =D .. Thanks

  • Just signed up on warbeats, thanks for the work you've been putting in. I really appreciate it as a producer who's just starting. Keep up the good work.

  • Wow it seems so simple... but it's something I would have never known about unless I watched this...

  • Hello,

I Have Recently Started A FL Studio Tutorial Website That Helps people find fl studio tutorials from all over youtube without having to sift through all the crap thats already on here. I have put a couple of your videos on there because well to b honest you are one of the best around, anyway i noticed today that there is a copyright thing at the bottom of your videos and wondered basically if it was alright for me to use them or did you want me to take them down?

    Thanks for your time.

  • Sometimes Edison can't detect the pitch of kicks. Also, it almost never manages to detect the pitch of snares, claps, hi hats, etc. etc. Is there an alternate method of figuring out the pitch of percussion?

  • Cool music ;)

  • I am sure you were askedt this before but what program do you use to record the screen? Is it CAMSTUDIO? Thanks in advance.

  • wow... hardstyle was waaaaay ahead of you =) but very good tho

  • nfx, all your tuts are awesome.

Your the Bob Ross of music and fl studio!

    Thanks for sharing your expertise.

  • @jkolt89 LOL! Comparing NFX to Bob Ross is bang on!! They're both very informative, easy to understand and their voices are strangely relaxing to listen to. :o)

  • This will be a very useful technique, for kicks as well as when sampling new sounds.... Take care of all this in the beginning and thoroughly set up your new sample instrument and you're good to go and you wont have to worry about it next time you want to use that sample. Great vid, Thanx NFX :o)

  • im gonna call you king tut haha

  • see the mixer, see the playlist and see what you can get today for the same price, i don't have money for people who made fetishism party ,

  • nice tip guy also a tuner is a good choice for more vinyl type kicks and acoustic kicks i like using the cakewalk tuner its also polyphonic important with stereo kicks

  • A LOT OF LOVE FOR THE WARBEATS!!

  • Not really related to this particular video, but in your Scales tutorial, you used Chord House. I can't enter the site you told. Could you please tell me where else i can use chord house from?

P.S. Awesome tutorial. Ive learned many things from your videos. Very easy to understand. Keep up the good work.

  • Respect dude. This stuff is pretty simple right enough, but I spent a night watchin your tuts and every one has a little gem in it - whether it's a plugin I've never used, a production technique I didn't know how to implement in FL or just some mouse shortcut... Thanks for puttin in the time bro.

  • I own a site called karmazorianbeats where I sell hiphop beats online, and I have to say that these tutorials have helped me with my beats 10 fold. Thanks alot. You ever need anything give me a shout.

  • I can't access the warbeats website. Please help.

  • One of the other ways that i would have tuned the bass drum is Ctrl+up (once or twice) in the piano roll to check the current scale of the bass drum and fine tune it and reverse the process by Ctrl+down. But your method is far better.

    Kudos 2 u

  • Good work NFX, Count me as your ardent fan

  • yes man this 9.1 update is fake;to send a wave from edison to the playlist press shift c,in the browser, the F5 and F6 functions are allready here, you can sand waves from the browser to plugins by pressing enter, and why put harmless as a demo in fl,when you can download it in IL website..and this fucking guru who lies and talk to the kids like a whore to take them money? if i see him on the street i will slap his mother fuckin mouth

  • boobass and fl keys ! the best plugz of all time, image line 4 ever!!

  • Great tutorial! Nice edison feature I wasnt even aware of. Thank you very much for sharing!

  • just thought i'd throw this in there. an a minor scale is a c scale with a different starting note. a c scale is all the white notes on a piano.

  • nice......

  • yo, you could answer to your mails nfx :S

  • Nice Tutorial. Check My Videos for some cool instrumentals, beats produced by me =)

  • @DJEscaOCP1 .. LOL! hard to believe this technique existed before your made your tutorial isnt it? Just kidding... I never saw your tutorials but keep doing your thing and respect for sharing them with the world.

  • @nfxbeats Nice response to esca. Dude came off like a turd and you kept it civil.

    Nice work again.
