This band is absolute genius, I love their ideas on music, as well as their music, their overall attitude is great, and I get good vibes from them, their music, and everything. Awesome! =)
Just been watching an episode of Roswell (guilty pleasure, we all need them) and they featured Pain the Silence. Where are you guys? I'
've got mates who would love to see you play! I saw you supporting Regular Fries in what,98? I know what you're like haunted me until I found the album and bought it. I sent it to Guy Garvey as a Song for Guy on his 6 Music show cos I never got it out of my head xx
I'm a little embarrassed to say this is the first time I have heard South. I liked this a lot and have started to listen to their other albums. Maybe I am a sign that new people are listening to South.
Yeah "Better Things" is the first single for North America. "Tell Me" and "Wasted" were a close close second...It was definitely not an easy decision to make.
"Wasted" is really very good. But "Better Things" does seem more like single material, especially here in the states...
I think my favorite of the new tracks might be "There Goes Your Life," though. I dunno why. It's just so well done. But I doubt that'll be a single, huh?
"Tell Me" would do nicely as well..but I must say, a lot of the successful songs here in the U.S. are absolute trash. South's a bit too good to be popular.
Right decision on the single. It's the one I play on the air most.
We are hoping to change that with YOU ARE HERE. Not trying to compare, personally, I just know that once I put the record on, I listen to the entire thing straight through.
There isn't a song on that album that isn't astounding. As much as like "You Are Here," I don't enjoy it as much as I do their second album...I work at a radio station and I've had access to South's latest since early this month. Yes, it's good. Occasionally brilliant.
Omg it took me FOREVER to find this fucking song I hear it everyday @ work!!

I've loved South for so long, and I hope this album finally gets them the respect and attention they deserve.

This band is brilliant. Brilliant.
And no one in the states knows who they are...this album isn't as good as "With the Tides," but it's got some really good tracks.

With the Tides is most certainly their most accessible record, Colours in Waves for example may well be the best pop song they'll ever write.

But not AS brilliant.
