i saw phantom regiment's 2007 dci show entitled "Spartacus" and wanted to know the origin of the music it was based off of. found this. It's incredible
Hollywood composers owe so much to this guy... and no composer, with the possible exception of Bartok, ever understood "pagan urgency" the way Aram Katchaturian did... listen to "Sabre Dance" or "Dance of the Gaditanae." Sensual and glorious.
@TheWickedNorth I think you would appreciate the Phantom Regiment Drum And Bugle Corp's 2008 show Spartacus. They included this piece and Phantom Regiment has a long history of classical music. This is to get you started: watch?v=3D578wnF_kM

The "wall of death" killing machine was very real and far more mechanically complex than in the film.

This remarkable soundtrack is legendary & did feature at the very ending of Caligula/ as the titles rolled.

The music is not from a movie. Khacharurian has written the ballet "Spartacus" between 1950 and 1954

Is this from Spartacus or from Caligula. Have both movies the same version of this music?

Best Film Ever Made. People dismiss it because these events really happened and offend most people.
