  • Dear Representative Moron - How unfair. Do you have ANY idea how difficult it is to out-yell Howard Dean???? You have to be a champion "hog-caller" to do it! The people attending that "town haller" should have been given blue ribbons- not asked to leave!

Howard Dean-The scream heard around the world "YEAAGHHHH!"

  • My friend on the West Coast went to a townhall and ALL the supporters were BUSSED-IN, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The anti-government rhetoric seen in some of these rallies ("The Tree of Liberty Must Be Watered....", etc.) is very similar to Timothy McVeigh's view of the world. By the way, people buy guns at gun shows in Virginia and then take them to New York to kill people. We had an election recently, and Obama was in part elected on a promise and plan to reform health care. Get used to it.

  • The typical anti-health care reform person is quite comfortable with single payer socialist plans like Medicare and the Veterans Administration, but fear letting others have access to such care. Apparently they think that the Insurance Companies do not hire actuaries or ration care or deny/discontinue coverage. They believe in Death Panels, the Death Book, Obama was born in Kenya, and in some cases, the world is 6,00 years old. God bless America.

  • Make that 6,000 years old. Though 600 is equally preposterous.

  • Here's an anti big government sentiment from that idiot Thomas Jefferson: A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government. and-- I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

  • Yes, Thomas Jefferson was a wise man. But remember -- our Founding Fathers were educated East Coast elitists (the kind of people Republicans profess to hate) who owned property and sought to deny the vote to people who did not own property, to women, and to slaves. So maybe historical change means something.

  • Um, I think you have that wrong...it's the liberals who hate the educated East Coast elitists, not the republicans...unless he is Obama.

  • Please Go read a history book. your the elitist.

They were true men, died for your freedom. Leave America please?

  • Here's another quote from that moron Albert Camus:

The welfare of the people in particular has always been the alibi of tyrants.

Over half of the folks polled (any poll, just pick one) are against this bill. But the big O is going topush it though anyway. Why? PowerControlPowerControlPowerControl

  • Medicare is bankrupt and the VA hospitals are a joke. I wouldn't send my cat there, let alone one of our revered vets (I have been to many all over the country). We need health insurance reform. It would solve a lot of our problems. We need food to live, and grocery stores make profits! how dare they! Some people eat lobster and some eat tuna! No fair!

  • Medicare is not bankrupt, and the problems with the VA are due in part to the Bush Administration's anti-Veteran, anti-Veteran's funding policies, which Obama and Congress are only now able to start to fix. Private, for profit outside contractors got better gear and funding and care than our soldiers did in Iraq. Thank Rumsfeld and Cheney for that.

  • Jim Morons District (where I live) is very liberal. Jim Moron is one of the most liberal congressman. So I'm no surprised to see the bleachers filled with liberals with pre-made signs. Most of these people work for the government. So to them, big government is job security. Not to diminish Moron's supporter turn out completely, but in a district where 4 out of 5 cars have an Obama bumper sticker, what do you expect.

  • So true! There was some gal standing in front of me who turned around and said if I thought the govt was so bad at doing things, that I should walk home and not take the 'govt provided streets'! What kind of idiotic logic is that? I paid for them damn streets, sister.

  • You have a problem with Democracy? A liberal was elected by a liberal district. That is called Democracy. More people voted for Obama than voted for McCain. That is also Democracy. By the way, Firefighters, Police, Soldiers, Coast Guard - they work for the government too. But calling him "Jim Moron" is quite clever, I admit.

  • Really? they work for the government? Gosh I didn't know that! I'm just a big ol' dumb hick cause I don't agree with you. Oh yeah, I'm a racist too.

  • Didn't say you were racist. But people who hate government often want to be rescued when a disaster or flood or fire hits, want the roads paved, and the army to fight, and the traffic signals to work, and don't want to trust the meat and drug companies to insure that their meat and drugs are inspected safe, and want states like Alaska to get far more Federal aid than they pay in taxes.

  • Yep, that's what I'm forced to pay 45% of my income for them to do. But in fact, all of this should be disintermediated: take the non-productive government middle man out of it, let people compete and make a profit, then you will have this done efficiently and with quality, more of the money will go where it needs to, instead of in the hands of special interest groups, waste and fraud. There are millions of people who could work and don't,don't pay taxes, but are somehow "owed" these services.

  • The government can't get me a fishing license without messing it up. And they are going to run healthcare? How about no representation w/o taxation--you no pay taxees, you no votee (unless you are disabled)

  • I was at the townhall meeting. The supporters of the so called health care bill were bussed in (I saw the buses there about 3.5-4 hours before the start. Almost w/o exception they were carrying pre-made signs (astroturf). While I waited in line for 2 hours, union members were flowing into another door to the school. SO set up, give me a break. Maybe that's why we "anti-s" were so pissed and vocal.

  • There were premade signs, but most of us just picked them up on the way in. I had my own handmade sign, but it wasn't so great, so I just used a premade one. It wasn't union members going into the other door--there were several lines, all made up of a variety of people. All your attempts are to discount our conviction and passion on this issue, but the majority supports the plan. I know it sucks to be in your position, but please try to handle your disappointment with more grace and dignity!

  • Where haven't they been bussed in. Weren't they bussed in at MacHaskill, Cardin, and Obama's town halls? That really shows the strength of your supporters when you have to bus them in, hand them preprinted signs, and maybe even pay them something to show up (did you all hear about hiring supporters on Craiglist? Is that true? How sad).

  • Very sad. see my reply on another video

  • A general observation from the night -- There was a very large effort to ensure that those who were able to attend the meeting were constituents of Moran's district. They checked addresses, etc. and turned away those who did not live in his district. Some did manage to get in later in the evening after the tables came down. It was the most contentious atmosphere I've ever been in. Many very passionate, concerned people attended from both sides. (Posted by Observer Staff Writer, Leslie Perales)

  • I see the O-Bots have bused in their stooges to yell over the concerns of the people. Wow Obama and stooges have really united our country. Wonderful leadership and so much for openness and transparency.

  • Concerns of the people? The vast majority of us, the pro-healthcare reformers are people too. It was the antis that shouted over everything--even the opening prayer! They wouldn't let anyone speak without interrupting several times a minute. They were the most rude and disrespectful people I have ever seen. People I saw who were undecided were appalled by the antis' behavior, so much that they came over to our side by the end.

  • I can see the bussed in pro-Obamacare people are shouting and waving their taxpayer printed signs. Typical Obama tripe of canned, orchestrated protesters who wave signs and shout as loud as the people they accuse of shouting. The administration attempted to drown out righteous dissent & insulate Moran & Dean to spread their usual dribble which Americans are finding out the truth. Hey, stupid Democrats, we actually read the bill.

  • We were not bussed in. I didn't even see any buses in the parking lot. Everyone I talked to came on their own accord.

  • And the signs were not paid for from tax dollars. The lies and misinformation the anti-reformers spread are astonishing, and with no compunction or sense of responsibility to be truthful. Clearly, these are not people to be trusted. Have they no shame?

  • To FFierce,

Just wondering - Which part of the House Bill did you like? You sound like a drone that goes with the flow, with very little facts to demonstrate your belief.

  • I like the parts where everyone would be covered, where preventative care will be emphasized, where Medicare will continue to be accessible to seniors, where it will be paid for by a tax on wealthy Americans. There are things I don't like too, but overall, I think it's an improvement. (Calling me names only reflects poorly on you, by the way.)

  • I was at this townhall meeting. There was only a handful of anti-healthcare reform people. They were very vocal relative to their numbers. The anti-reformers were mean-spirited and irrational, and evinced pure bad faith, shouting things such as "Liar, liar," over and over. If they can't hear reasonable arguments (clearly they couldn't), then reasonable people need not consider their rantings relevant to how we as a country approach healthcare reform.

  • Sanctimonious condescending and self righteous.Typical. Here some lies (I hope you can hear this over your smugness) Unemp will not go above 8%, I will not tax under 75K,You will be able to keep your healthcare, every problem we have is Bush's fault, I'm pulling out of the middle east.

  • Pls educate yourself and read the bill.Talk to your drs&maybe you will find that we are not crazy nor stupid. With our national debt at 99.8% of DNP we are thisclose to bankruptcy. And now we should accept bureaucrats running our healthcare& not taking it themselves from a pres who smokes & an surgeon general who is obese. Our docs are going broke because of outrageous malpractice ins. and getting 20 cents on the dollar treating medicare patients. Who wants to be a dr anymore. Think and analyze.
