This 'Faux KISS' is just disgusting! I got to meet and hang with KISS a bit when they were on their first tour. I never met a more enthusiastic and focused band. They were all really decent people and I was allowed to take pictures of them and so was one of the first people to have pictures of KISS without their makeup on. Several moves and a lost storage locker later and they're gone. Although I have my memories, if I could, I'd kick Gene and Paul square in the nuts for bastardizing the legend.

I'm sure there was more behind the scenes stuff than Peter and Ace just whole-heartedly agreeing to sell their copyrighted images to Gene. They were either conned into selling them, or legally threatened somehow. Either way, I stick to my "stealing" remark because that's how Gene operates. Anything KISS related is his property, at least he thinks so. Anyone who's left this band has always dissed Gene about his greed (and yes, even Bruce makes a few similar remarks about him every now and then).
What's next? Eric singing Beth? C'mon...stealing Ace and Peter's trademark look from them is rotten enough. But for Gene and Paul to allow the replacements to cover Ace and Peter's tunes as well is downright malicious. This is a mom and dad fight, and they're doing it in front of their "kids", so to speak (i.e. the fans). I can no longer support this farce of a band now called KISS. After 30+ years of being a huge fan, I'm finally done. Gene and Paul have ruined it all for me. A big Sonic Boo.
I like Tommy. I have no problem with Tommy in the Spaceman costume and make-up, but I have to draw the line at him singing Ace's "Shock Me." They could have put in any number of good songs in it's place. I think it's just another Gene/Paul swipe at Ace. @dieterderblau Eric and Tommy are not cashing in on ace and Peter's songs, looks, moves ect... gene and paul have peter and aces makeup, however even though gene and paul have ace's and peters songs copyrighted to KISS since ace and peter wrote them they still have origional rights to them. Ace and peter left KISS which was a shame, it was... however they knew the consequences when they left the band.

The first time I heard either this or another show where he did it, I hated it. The sound quality of the recording was aweful. This one wasn't so bad. Yeah, Tommy actually sounded good. I can't wait to hear his new song on Sonic Boom. I liked Tommy's playing in Back N Blue and Harlow. I just wish KISS would take the makeup off again. If they did, I don't think the fans would care. In the end, it's the music that counts. Twisted Sister is finally taking theirs off. It's time. Anyone else?

I have been a KISS fan my whole life and ill give Ace credit for being great back in the day because he was the man when I was growing up listening to them with my dad, but Tommy is a great addition to the band. Kiss owns rights to all of the songs that were produced by Kiss so they can play whatever they want out of their catalog.Plus when you go to a kiss show you want to hear all of the songs that you heard growing up,dont you? I agree. It isn't worth the emotional investment. But you have to see things from both sides. It much easier for Gene and Paul to trek around the world with Tommy and Eric than it is with Ace and Peter.

The thing that bothers me the most is not Tommy and Eric playing in the band, but the fact that they're using Ace and Peter's makeup. What they should do is come up with a different personae all together, they did it with Eric Carr and Vinnie Vincent so why can't it happen with these two? I dunno, just a thought. But stop rippin on Tommy... Gene and Paul are the ones who fucked up way back with Music From The Elder, I don't blame Ace for leaving

I'm sure there was more behind the scenes stuff than Peter and Ace just whole-heartedly agreeing to sell their copyrighted images to Gene. They were either conned into selling them, or legally threatened somehow. Either way, I stick to my "stealing" remark because that's how Gene operates. Anything KISS related is his property, at least he thinks so. Anyone who's left this band has always dissed Gene about his greed (and yes, even Bruce makes a few similar remarks about him every now and then).

What's next? Eric singing Beth? C'mon...stealing Ace and Peter's trademark look from them is rotten enough. But for Gene and Paul to allow the replacements to cover Ace and Peter's tunes as well is downright malicious. This is a mom and dad fight, and they're doing it in front of their "kids", so to speak (i.e. the fans). I can no longer support this farce of a band now called KISS. I like Tommy. I have no problem with Tommy in the Spaceman costume and make-up, but I have to draw the line at him singing Ace's "Shock Me." They could have put in any number of good songs in it's place. I think it's just another Gene/Paul swipe at Ace. They keep saying this is the "new" KISS and that Ace and Peter are in the past, but it's GENE and PAUL who will not let Ace and Peter go with all the insults they continue to heap on them! The first time I heard either this or another show where he did it, I hated it. The sound quality of the recording was aweful. This one wasn't so bad. Yeah, Tommy actually sounded good. I can't wait to hear his new song on Sonic Boom. I liked Tommy's playing in Back N Blue and Harlow. I just wish KISS would take the makeup off again. If they did, I don't think the fans would care. In the end, it's the music that counts. Twisted Sister is finally taking theirs off. It's time. Anyone else?

I have been a KISS fan my whole life and ill give Ace credit for being great back in the day because he was the man when I was growing up listening to them with my dad, but Tommy is a great addition to the band. I get sick of hearing people throw him under the bus for taking the spot of Ace when Ace became nothing but a drug head in the later years. I know ill probably get negative reviews for this comment but its hard to hear him play and say he isnt great. Tommy is a great addition to the band

Kiss owns rights to all of the songs that were produced by Kiss so they can play whatever they want out of their catalog.Plus when you go to a kiss show you want to hear all of the songs that you heard growing up,dont you? I agree that Bruce was the best guitarist. He is a great talent.
As for Eric and Tommy in the make-up, you have too much time on your hands if you are complaining. Ace and Peter do not work well with Gene and Paul. Also, we all know that Gene likes money. Kiss on tour makes money. Ace and Peter, from what I have read, cannot do long tours anymore. They needed younger people.
