Hence the criminal justice act and the powers it gives to the police and the health and safety fascists making it illegal to gather in any more than a group of 8 (5 if a vehicle is present) anywhere outside of a licensed, health and safety approved and insured venue.

@trehansen Your dates r wrong. I danced at the Hacienda in Manchester in 1987 the clubs were bumping way before that. It was not just popular but absolutely huge long before1989 in Britain. Franky knuckles, Mr Fingers, LNR work it to the Bone etc agreed but we had other artists.. Guy called Gerald and so much more. Definitely began underground in Detroit but we were dancing to it too at the same time and our own artists were releasing stuff too. Also it was a HUGE movement that reunited all.
