I did my first 100 yesterday. I didn't find it much different to doing the 70-85 mile rides I did before. I live in a fairly flat area so it is not too difficult when it comes to hills. I am not the fastest of cyclists but I can keep going all day so as long as I set off early enough in the day then the 100 is achievable. I need to be doing this with panniers and in any weather for my tour in August with traffic in some towns.
I have to say, I'm doing my first century next month, my longest ride before that having been 50 miles, I'm not intimidated by it. Just looking forward to a scenic pedal. I'll get back in touch if it kicks my ass haha. Oh yes, and I commute daily.
