Yes! I can't believe I never thought to do this! Our family eats watermelon so fast when they come into season. I always just cut up the watermelon into pieces and put them into a big bowl in the fridge, but it always take me FOREVER to cut off the rinds. Wow, I feel like a total idiot now. You are stupid! You clean a watermelon by putting it in your sink and running water all over it for 5 minutes. This removes any dirt and associated bacteria that can harm you. Once you've done this, then you can place it on a clean counter top and cut it lengthwise to remove the meat. This video is why yankees should be required to be tested before they fxxxing open their mouths.

this is SO wrong, you just lost approx 20% of the watermelon, watermelons are cut into slices with the peel on and you eat it directly till you throw away the peel. No wastage...the peel can be given to animals (I think)..why do we need to waste so much????

I clean my watermelon's by putting it in the toilet and flushing. 2 Flush's should do the trick. BUT if it's really dirty 3 will make is shine! Don't forget to buff it too! You can do this with a rag on a stick.
