  • thats a real old gibson dam

  • Drop G Rulez :D

  • ''I got meat from my right hand across those strings right on top of the bridge'' LOL

the vid was too slow for me!

  • ...boatload of distortion? maybe he mutes too much then o.o

  • Ok, show us Drop A?

  • @leopower7 Drop A is:

    A

    E

    A

    D

    G

    B

  • @Darklordbrink I know how the tuning is. I was being sarcastic.

  • @leopower7 Ok, I was just trying to help

  • @Darklordbrink Don't feel offended. You are a great person and deserve to win in life.

  • i dunno why people always assume drop d is for heavier types of music, i use it because it opens so many more doors for other chords that normally would be a huge stretch, and it does make your sound fuller too

  • @GibsonMusician Yea I know. Its great to play octave riffs and 9th chords and such. Idk why so many people bash it...

  • Is that an epiphone ora gibson?

  • @Juanaug22 its a gibson

  • Hahaha 'boatload of distortion"!

That's nothing compared to real metal.

    Still good video

  • Gibson Les Paul model?

    Vos? Standard? Please!!!

  • Comparing the sound from both Drop D tuning on your E string and standard 440 tuning....

Drop D tuning the E string eliminates the open E's note by tuning the string two steps lower on an imaginary fret note...

This gives the string a power note charactor and limits the sound...

    Different strokes for different folks...

  • i dont understand how to tune my guitar like this

    can anybody help me?

  • kuribohyellowcard,

just tune to standard, then tune down your

low E, 2 notes, so it is the same note as the D string (the fourth string). subscribe plz. Btw this is a great tutorial!!!

  • simple !

have you got a guitar tuner ???

if so, play the 2nd fret of each string whilst tuning like normal.

that will get youre whole guitar into drop d !!!

  • NOoooooo Please nobody listen to this.

That will put you in D STANDARD tuning, not Drop D!

Drop D only changes the lowest E string. Tune the seventh fret on the lowest string to match your fifth string. Bingo.

  • @williamthomasmi10 Are you sure? D Standard is: D G C F A D. I'm pretty sure he tuned to D A D G B E which is drop D

  • @Darklordbrink Duuuuude... I have no idea why I said what I said. You are completely right, my bad... lol. I musta been fucked up or something.

  • What in the world? Jody sold out! He is such a badass guitar olayer, his blues stuff is really top notch, but he looks totally like a fish out of water with this!

  • beefcake! beefcaaakee!!

  • U ROCK

  • meat from my right hand:L

  • Man, I dont get it...

  • ok here just pluck your "d" string and tune your "e" down until they match. thats all you have to do

  • you can also play open d and 12th fret harmonic on the e and tune down until its the same

  • If you drop D at all, spend $80 on a Hipshot D tuner. You get D tuning a the flip of a lever. I use it all the time on my Tele. It's the only way to do a quick D tune between songs, or during a song playing live.

    hipshotproducts (dot) com

  • Drop tuning is really quick, takes about up to 10 seconds if you're good, if you want you could do it in 4 but riskier (might not be as precise)

  • it doesnt take ten seconds if you have a floyd rose floating trem

  • True, but then I would suggest having two guitars in different tunings :D. I don't think it's good to down tune with the microtuner, maybe I'm wrong though...

  • If you are playing live, and can hear yourself clearly, and also don

t want to annoy people with the tuning down, which is annoying, the Hipshot is the way to go, it D tunes perfectly in less than a second. Not on a Floyde though. You need a Tremol-No™ for that. Trust me, it's the BEST $80 you'll ever spend on your guitar. Get a Hipshot! :)

  • Hehe, you're right about that... didn't think about it. Maybe I'll buy one later, when I need one ;)

  • D-tuna for Floyd Rose.

  • Yes, it's easy to tune the 6th string down to a D, but how to tune it back up again easily?

  • Turn it the other way until it's an E? lol

  • Thanks for the tips.

  • stick to your blues

  • this is obviously a beginner level. so shut it

  • @imit I agree ive been playing for awhile and ive never experimented with drop d. Question i tighten to get to drop d is that right sorry lol im kinda like angus young with the amp calle that thing and such

  • @Juanaug22 you loosen it and tune the low E string to D

  • Why be a dick when he's just putting out a beginner's tutorial?

  • yeah, but i'm embarresed by just how beginner it is

  • So what? There has to be a step one. There are plenty of people out there that have no idea what Drop D means. You have to spell it out for people that are just starting out.

If you're beyond it, why even comment?

  • I was just kidding. it's great, I'm not putting it down.

  • Thank you. I know a few chords but, really have NO clue about drop-d really. Make it simple.
