My mother died at 55 and was an alcoholic. She lived as you would say a decadent lifestyle. A year before she died, I asked her if Christ was in her heart. She said she loved Christ, but life was a struggle for her. I saw that day that Christ was in her life. I knew when she died that I will see her in eternity and that Jesus will be with her. According to you, she would be in hell. I know God's word and I believe you may be sincere, but you have missed the Grace that Jesus taught.
If someone comes to Christ because of your message, that's good, but for the ones that are already love Christ, let them know that they do belong to Christ and that He loves them dearly and yes, Jesus wants them to be Holy, but he will not deny us, because we are not there yet.
Paul, I don't know what your agenda is to teach such gloom and doom to people is, but I think you should also care about people. You need to let the ones who don't know things of the Lord that they are saved. Let them know things of the world are not Godly, but don't try to scare them into it. God wants us to come to Him because we love him, not because we are robots and listen to preachers.
Nothing against southern Baptists, but I think Paul and anyone else clamming any denomination should claim to be a follower of Christ and throw out their clubs of Christianity. People should follow Christ and call them self follows of Christ, not Southern Baptist, or any other denomination.
Christ still loves you and wants you forever. Read your Bible and try to live out Christ's words, but know that once you give your self to the Lord, you are His. If Paul is right, there are going to be a lot of hell bound Christians. The Gospel is then meaningless and there is no reason to follow it. Christ loves those who love Him and will be with you during your life to bring you to His understanding.
You know in your heart if you love Christ. You know if you want to be with Jesus for all eternity. If you love Christ, he loves you and will never let you go. You do sin, repent of your sins, but know that Christ loves you and washes your sins clean. Did you sin in the past, today, or right now?
My Father in-law did not come to Christ until his last days of life when he was in his 70's. He claimed to be a catholic, but he was a mean person. Later when he love Christ, he still sinned, but the change in Him was noticeable. I saw Christ in Him. He was not perfect, but he was a child of God and I knew he would be with Christ for all eternity. Repent of your sins, seek the will of the Father, but remember that Christ does love you with all of your shortcomings.
In some cases, you may not even overcome some of your sins, but if you love Christ and call Him Lord, you do belong to Him. Paul brings up that you will be known by your fruits. If that's the case, a lot of preachers, even Paul has some demented fruits. I think that Paul should examine his own life and realize that he has as many sins as a teen-ager that dresses risky, a teen with a foul mouth, or a teen with a drinking problem. Change in humans with the Lord sometimes takes time.
I know that Christ is carrying me and helping me. The Christ Paul portrays is not the Christ of the Bible. Christ loves those who love Hm. He loved us first before we ever loved Him. If you love Christ you know it deep in your heart. You may be ignoring sin, but God in your lifetime knows who you are and will be with you as you live to change your heart.
You can be a homosexual and still be saved and go to heaven. It is true you should put your faith in the Lord and repent of doing drugs or other sins, but Jesus loves you if you love Him, unconditionally. I love the Lord with everything in me, but I do have problems that I have to overcome.
Repenting of your sins is right, but if we are all sinners, we have a lot of repenting to do everyday. A teen or adult who does drugs may be carnal, but they are saved if they confessed with their tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead. Struggling with sin does not mean that you are not saved. You can be addicted to drugs and still be saved.
Those who love Christ know it. Doing everything right and following all the commands immediately is not required. Dressing sensually does not mean that you are not saved. A new Christian may not have the understanding of what they may be doing is not right. But if they love Christ and gave their life to Christ, He will bring understanding to them. It may not be right away, because we are sinners and we will sin continually until the day we die.
He condemns himself. I do agree some people think that they are saved and are not. What I am writing about is those people who are saved because they love Christ, but have struggles or they need to have Christ bring them to more of the understanding that it takes to follow Him.
This guy misses Grace and everyone listening to this message should understand that Christ is also a God of Grace. Paul overlooks that he is a sinner as much as all of his audience and he sins every day just like every teen he is speaking to. Some of his sins he does not even knows he does.
I truly think that any middle-schooler, high-schooler, or college student in America who professes Christ NEEDS to see this- their profession could very well crumble and be exposed for what it really is...thank you, Mr. Washer for doing this and for saying this. I really enjoyed this video and got a lot out of it. God bless you sir.
I know it's wrong to judge the heart, but unfortunately, I saw what happened to Whitney Houston b/c I personallly thought Jesus didn't know Whitney Houston. I found over the years that every time when we are disobeient to the Word of God, Satan has a way to make God's name look bad through people who called themselves christians.
i came to know that the Christianity that i believed in had absolutely no ground with the Bible through this video
Thank you Lord for grace i have been saved through faith and had nothing to do with me but was with your mercy and grace through Jesus Christ my Lord.
This is the best sermon I think I've heard ever and it cleared up a lot of questions in my mind about what really is the criteria against which Christians (pple who say they knw God and pledge to follow Jesus, and at the same time live a life of repentance from sin) should look to in order to examine whether or not they are saved. This has lead me to the conclusion that it's faith in Jesus, living a life of repentance from sin and honoring God by abandoning human nature and doing what God wants.
You say that Paul W is a false prophet (three days ago) the only motivation for condemning him is that you say that he condemning people to hell!
You quote by this opinion was John 3:16, John 3:16 is true but you can't ignore John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
turbulence63. You are the one who is ignorant of theology if you follow Washer a works salvation heretic. Romans 4:5. Romans 4:13-14. Titus 3:5. Ephesians 2:8-9. Matthew 7:21-22 is describing Washer and other lordship idiots who were trusting in themselves instead of the finished work of Christ. John 19:30.
@jacksmack77 You're definitely right Jacksmack77. Matt 7:21 condemns those who rely on their works instead of the cross of Christ. Jesus said that he never knew these who boasted of their many wonderful works. These people before Jesus awaiting entrance into heaven are the ones who relied on their works but unfortunately never became the Children of God by grace. It's really sad, because these people were probably good decent people who were deceived.
@jacksmack77 I knew you wouldn't read anything I sent ....and just let your judgemental heart rule over any area of dicernment that may possibly exist within you.
You more concerned with hammering your fellow brothers on anything you don't like to hear. Rather than move toward the source of what is taught.
You are the subject of my prayers this night. don't reply ...just stay quiet and may God Bless You
Duck4212. I remember the first time I heard this stupid sermon years ago and right as Washer was condemning people to hell, my friend's roommate interrupted with: this guy knows nothing about the grace of God. No believer should take anything Washer says seriously. If he really cared about these people why not quote: John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8-9. Romans 3:23-24. God bless.
@jacksmack77 Tell me where Paul W condemns people to hell? Paul Washer is not condemning anyone, the Bible is! But we don't want to read the truth because the truth always hurts. When the preaching about sin and hell decreases, the meaning of the Cross and God's grace in that Cross also fades. That's how you got saved in the first place, right? The Law is there to slay all hope of salvation, but which only can be found in Christ alone.
@jacksmack77 you obviously don't know anything of Theology do you.
There are more ignorant Christians in this western North American continent that are totally sound to the assumption that Christianity conforms to this world.
Read Psalm 5:4 and Proverbs 6:16 ....and then study some good systematic Theology, because you'll need it to understand those passages, and you may find that you could be one that Christ speaks of in Matt.7:21.
@jacksmack77 Also all you judgemental Christians should study Romans 14:1-13 and you will also find that you may also be the one that this scripture speaks of that only eats vegetables.
What he said is true...but he did not take it far enough. "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the the Holy Ghost." Act 2:38.
JOHN 3:3 You must be born again of the water and the Spirit to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.(water= baptized in JESUS name Spirit:receving the HOLY GHOST, with the evidence of speaking in other tounges.) HIS SPIRIT gives you the power you need to fight the good fight.
This is exactly what I needed to hear. I allowed myself to be decieved because I didn't want to do what I knew was right; I constantly felt convicted, but I wanted it easy and made accuses. My eyes are opened and I am focus on God, building my faith, and being the best Christian I can. #blessed and blessing
...Ok...so PAUL, a true believer, a disciple of Christ, admits that there is still wickedness within him that he struggles with. The KEY is, do you EMBRACE your sin or do you, when God brings it to your attention, agree with God that it is sin and turn away from it? God is not a legalistic God, and God is not a "Southern Baptist"....I agree with some of the things he's saying but please, people....take what this preacher says and weigh it against the Word of the Living God.
@kcline6969: Weigh what you say against the Word. 1 John 3:6 "No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him." What is being emphasized is simply this; Are we serious Slaves of Christ or pretenders; people who want a Savior without a Lord? Listen to it again. Matthew is clear (Matt 7:22-23; many will do religion and perish. Hate your sin; hate your life; you will save your life. The Way is NARROW, HARD, and FEW FIND IT (Matt 7:14)
Jim, read my words carefully. Christians do not have a license to sin. But listening to this sermon, I couldn't help but wonder where this preacher's sense of salvation comes from. Is it from HIS "good deeds"? HIS ability to fight sin and conquer it? When he told the audience to stop clapping...becuase he was talking to "them", shouldn't he have included HIMSELF in that admonishment? Did you not look at the verse I gave? PAUL struggled with sin as a BELIEVER...
@kcline6969: It seems you're missing all the crucial points. First you seem to confuse justification and sanctification. Paul points rightly to the truth that faith without works is dead. Saving faith ALWAYS leads to works that prove justification true. Second it's irrelevant whether or not Paul includes himself in a statement. The ONLY issue is whether or not his teaching is biblical. The verse you gave is a comfort for those who are at war with their sin and still stumble along the way...
@jimadams71 ...Every single believer is at war with their sin, so are you, so is this preacher who posted this video. We have an old and new nature. Bottom line, I had a problem with this preacher's constant referrels to "southern baptists" as if that organization is "the way". That term is not found in the bible and is divisive and exclusive to a man made organization. I don't like that he didn't include himself as one who stumbles in sin. Seems arrogant and pious.
@kcline6969: Many Christians think it arrogant and pious when something challenging is said. Paul believes you are saved by grace alone. It's not a justification question... it's sanctification. The reason the church looks so much like the world is that they are not pursuing holiness. They're content to have Jesus as Savior but not Lord... the problem there is you get neither without both. I'm not southern baptist either, but I'm more concerned with whether or not his challenge applies to me.
@jimadams71...I understand and agree. The bottom line of the point I'm trying to make is this: When the time comes to give account to God, and if He wants to know why you should be allowed to enter into heaven...The only answer that one can give is dependence upon Christ for salvation. Our righteousness is as filthy rags before God. Faith in Christ alone saves. Works come as a result of being saved. I understand about the church...and not pursuing holiness, and agree 100%.
@kcline6969: Paul is speaking to them about their contentment with being just like the world. I'm very familiar with Paul Washer's teachings and the evidence in the church of the truth of what he is saying. As I said initially, listen again. This time challenge yourself to evaluate the validity of the message based on ALL of scripture. Paul's message (here and elsewhere) is biblical, through and through. Martin Luther said..."We are saved by faith alone, but not by a faith that is alone"
@jimadams71 I didn't say anything unbiblical, btw, and stand behind what I've said. I agree with the statement you made here. Good works come as a result of being saved, not in order to stay saved...that is the point I'm trying to make. True believers can rebel at times, they can ignore God's spirit, they can quench God's spirit...That is not a desirable place to be, but it is a place a true Christian can be at times.
@jimadams71..."These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life." 1Jn5:13. Your saved through FAITH alone. Good works come as a result of being saved, not to "stay saved". Look at the story of the progal son, that is how God deals with us. We have a new and old nature that wars against each other. To think to an extreme on either of our points is misunderstanding what God says.
Ok....I have a couple of issues. First, why the constant referral to being a true "Southern Baptist"? Where is THAT found in the bible? Also,he is saying that if you are a "true" believer, there is "no wickedness" in you....and you shouldn't see that reflected in a true believer's life. But the bible says that we will continue to struggle against sin after being saved. "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." Ro.7:15...
A Great message! This reminds me John the Baptiste, Elisha, Elijah , Isaiah, Jeremiah... All those great men of God who did not seek to please people, but delivered the message of God without fear of what could happen to them.
There are any number of instances in the Bible of people who had been born again (converted, cleansed, made whole, healed) but then turned against God, tempted back into the life of the world. They were genuinely born again and then they were genuinely fallen. These individuals certainly were not "saved", but they were born again. Being born again is not the same as being 'saved'; we will not know if we are saved until the very end of our days. Please don't confuse the two terms.
@chuckiescreamer says "None of us know whether or not we're 'saved' until Judgment Day" How sad to live in such a state of unknowing. What a burden God never meant for you to carry. "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life." 1 John 5:13.
@chuckiescreamer ...... Notice it does not say that that "by your works you may know".....it says "to you who believe". Works are NOT given to EARN or KEEP our salvation. Good works come as a RESULT of being saved.
Jesus says 'those who endure to the end will be saved.' Paul says 'run the race to win' and 'work out your salvation with fear and trembling'. Any preacher who talks about the rebirth process as being "saved" is misinterpreting salvation. None of us know whether or not we're 'saved' until Judgment Day, otherwise God might as well start looking for another job. Being born again does not mean we're saved; it means God's spirit is with us, and so our chances of 'enduring to the end' are better.
Wow!!!!! I have never heard a message like this!!! This man is a man of God! Many people will criticize him and say he's crazy. This man said the truth no matter what people thought or believed in. All he cared was about relating the message of God to the people. This is the true definition of a man of God! I suggest that if anyone has something negative to say about this man of God...... to reserve it to yourself because OMGGG!!! I am changing my life with God. Thank you!
Paul, may God continue to bless you so you may continue to be a blessing to those who are being saved. Please come and visit us in Australia @ Hill Song church, every generation needs preachers like you!!!! "we are so blessed in Jesus Christ "
Thank you Bro.Paul for that honest message. I was truly challenge, and will act upon it because I need to go to heaven! With over 90,000 views, I just hope over 90,000 people have changed their lives for real.
Is it fair to compare pseudo-Christian America to barbaric third world countries? If people in jails are fed, or are taken care of by the state, then the command to visit in prison is not the same here? The question I wonder is whether it is easier to die or to live for Christ? If you die it's over and you are in heaven. If you live you can backslide, at some point in life, and end up in hell. I'd rather a bullet to the brain.
When listening to Paul Washer, what he is saying is that you can not play games with God so you better walk straight. People who don't get it will also have a problem of that basic premise.
He sort of talk like a young Jimmy Swagert I hope he doesn't end up like him. I see God as a loving God and I guess that is because I know he does love me and I feel it more than I know it. If not for a power greater than myself I would have died drunk years ago and even with the pain I am in as a old man I still feel that and know that. The pain is the measure of the things I have done to myself and it is my responsibility. It is also a reminder of the path I was on and I am thankful for it.
@BanelingBust --- i'm sorry that this reply took so long, but that's exactly what the passage that Paul Washer is preaching says...and it's made clear by the way that Jesus concludes his preaching ministry in Mt 25...and it's reiterated in His parting msg to the 7 churches of Asia in Revelation. Pulling lamp stands is not a metaphor for a salvation that can't be lost.
i like this msg--with this caveat. he accurately preaches that the Word never teaches a sinner's prayer...but then he says that salvation is through "faith alone." if u believe that, i dare u to word search "faith alone". he also says that God will not let the saved stray--but the Apostle Paul knew that even he could stray into being "disqualified." 1 Cor 9:27. i love this bro's courage, but if ur going to take a chance, u might as well go all in and preach the whole truth.
@Jordwil82 Paul doesn't think that most people are going to burn in Hell. He knows that most will, because the bible says this. Paul has spent his life conforming himself to the image of Christ and then you step in and reject Christ as Lord and deny the message that Paul is preaching. It's time that you compared yourself to the scripture and submitted to every jot and tiddle of Christ.
This man speaks nothing but the truth, that's a good thing. He has also made some mistakes in his presentation of himself.
My opinion is that he made way too many accusation about the people of America and the world we live in, which leads me to believe this man knows very little about the people of America and the world. I would suggest to him, it might be a good idea, to let the bible collect some dust for a while and take a trip to the local bar or dance club and have a chat with the peop
Christians make just as many mistakes as anyone else, that's why we don't throw stones at people
Ask yourselves what is a relationship and really investigate how a relationship is suppose to work. You know and your father knows it's about sharing trusting and learning to understand better.
I have a lot to say about this man talking to the youth. He is too comfortable acting like a judge himself. I think it's a lack of common sense, that would bring him around to go ahead and tell people he thinks most people are going to burn in hell. Isn't justice about keeping things fair in this world. Maybe one day most people that die end up in hell, but the next day most will go to heaven, I like to be a positive thinker. On this subject i must tell you during my life with my truth I'v
This verse is perfect when disputing modern Christians, those that claim a prayer will save them.
BTW A PRAYER IS WORKS.
26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”
DO YOU SEE THIS? God signed a CONTRACT, called the Ten commandments, that you MUST OBEY because His foundation stands firm, sealed with his inscription.
@MrWarp94 Hebrews 10:26-27 (New International Version) 26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
@MrWarp94 If you think what paul washer is saying is un-biblical then you need to do a study on wickedness, repentance, obedience, and listen. Yeah, that's right, a bible study on the word LISTEN.
You'll find that those on the SIDE OF TRUTH, LISTEN to Jesus. In other words, they OBEY Jesus, they have REPENTED of their own desires and are LISTENING, OBEYING and FOLLOWING their LORD, JESUS CHRIST.
We as Christians need to wakeup and realize that we will have to stand before God and give an account of how we have lived our lives. God will look only at our fruit.
Acts 2:38 is so much preached here. Repent & be baptized everone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, & he shall received the gift of the Holy Ghost.
He is talking about salvation only though Jesus Christ but that there needs to be fruits following that transformed life. The world will know them by their fruit. We need to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. As the scripture is made real to us through the Holy Spirit we will become more like Jesus and less like the world. I AM NOT A SOUTHERN BAPTIST. I Am a EVANGELICAL PENTECOSTAL CHRISTIAN who believe that the church has fallen.
He is not teaching salvation through works. He is saying that if you are saved, your life will change and be proof of your salvation. Jesus said you will know them by their fruit. Salvation is not about saying a prayer and continuing to live as the world does. It's about a life change.
@bemr79: You're right that salvation is not merely about saying a sinners prayer.
However, there are instances (I've witnessed) when members of a congregation will spend their time evaluating the presence and merits of a fellow believers work, creating a hideous strain of legalism that thwarts the very work they're seeking to affirm. Call it "one-upmanship." Paul states that "the only thing that counts is a faith active in love." Knowing that you're loved is a great motivator.
Washer is a very emphatic speaker. I've listened to many speakers like him. I wonder, if they didn't connect with their audience emotionally, would they have any means to connect at all?
@ChristineDiana- Thats a nice 5 minuits that i agree with. He spends the next 40 minuits saying that if you dont have works you dont have faith. He preaches that you can work your way into salvation, he prides himself on his works. I belive what he is saying is un biblical. John 3:16-21/ Romans 10:8-13/ 1Timothy 1:16/ 1 Timothy 4:10/ Hebrews 11:6/ 1 John 3:23-24/ 1 John 5:9-13.
@HolyMisfit He preaches that you can work your way into salvation, he prides himself on his works. I belive what he is saying is un-biblical. John 3:16-21/ Romans 10:8-13/ 1Timothy 1:16/ 1 Timothy 4:10/ Hebrews 11:6/ 1 John 3:23-24/ 1 John 5:9-13.
He clearly stated several times that "one is only saved by grace alone through faith alone." What he is also saying is that by our fruit men will know we are saved. James 1:22-25, 2:14-20, "You see that a man is justified (proven to be saved) by his works and not by faith alone" James 2:24.
Thanks for uploading this wonderful video. This is so helpful :) to GOD be all the Glory! please I want to have a copy of this please? how will I get one? thanks and GOD bless.. :)
Great sermon. What makes me angry is when people pick this sermon apart, saying its a false gospel message. Their lame excuse is usally salvation being a free gift therefore mentioning repentance is heresy. This is only one of 100s of his messages, he speaks from a wealth of experiance which happens to be 3rd world countries. This may explain where most of the negetive feedback comes from.
I always love the pure TRUTH that pastor washer delivers...he does consistently fail to follow 1peter 3:15 & Titus 3:2 .. Gentleness and kindness is also fruit of the spirit right?
This Word from God and this teaching..made me more humble before God..!Thank you Jesus for opening my heart and thank you Pastor Paul Washer!God bless you always!
to those who try to deny the necessity of a changed life for Christians, it's true, it's not the changed life that saves us. But the evidence of our salvation is the changed life. True salvation changes us. We can't help but be changed by His salvation. The two can't be separated. Salvation automatically produces change.
We're saved by Who we know (Jesus), not by what we do, but Who we know will change what we do! If we are truly following Jesus, it will show in a changed life. We don't change our lives - Jesus changes us as we follow Him. Or would you deny that Jesus has the power to change lives? What kind of picture do you show the world about God when you call yourself a christian but live as though Jesus has no power to save you from your sin? He does not save us IN our sin, He saves us from it!
i am conyinually amazed that when a christian comes out and tells the truth and calls a spade or calls sin for what it is SIN people say that they are judging you have to come out from the rest and be seperate
Amazing how many have totally missed the point. To which Mr. Washer was referring to in the scripture. It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle, then for man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
This man's teachings made me open my eyes, he's really speaking the truth like the Word of God is. All glory to God! Jesus is so merciful and loving that no man can really understand the depts of it.
I am really amazed that there is a christian, that is really thinking about and reading the scriptures (respect). There is however something Mr. Washer is confused with, which is; Jesus (pbuh) talks about a PROPHET and its fruits and not about the people Mr. Washer is speaking to.
This man is a fool he claims scripture, yet he clearly contradicts it, he says you cant get into hevan unless you do works, but jesus cleared you of your sins, make up your mind Mr. washer
@MrWarp94 He never says "you cant get into hevan unless you do works," he's saying your works will be a sign of true faith in Jesus (which the Scripture clearly teaches in James 2).
@mcsteward im alittle late on this but, James is refering to Dead Faith, and i agree he is kinda saying that, but he says the only way to salvation is with works, and that is a lie
@MrWarp94 Actually, he says the opposite at 14:59 (the only way to salvation is through Jesus) & 15:30 (our works are like filthy rags). What part of the video are you talking about?
so lo0kitzmeng if you have faith you are allowed to be an asshole, you will be saved anyway...why do you need the promise of eternal live to be good in this one? WHat if there is anything after death?.
Try to be good now, through what you do not through your narcissistic "faith"
your telling me salvation which we did nothing to deserve and cannot be be earned by doing any good works can be undone by doing works? this doesn't make sense...where in the bible does it say that our wrong doing will lose or salvation but in the bible in clearly saids it's through faith we are saved not by works!!!
@lo0kitzmeng I don't think he's saying your salvation can be "undone" by wrong works...I think he's asking people to examine whether or not they ever had salvation in the first place.
He's saying that a lot of people have been deceived and currently think they have salvation from Jesus, but they do not and never have (not that they have lost it or are in danger of losing it).
i just prayed for you coonoocoo .i want that you meet jesus for real and accept him as a lord in you'r heart /life. All you have to do is to come before him sincerely .make a step ,HE will make 2 be bless (sorry my english)
I'm saved and live for the Lord, what bugs me about preachers like those is, they'll speak against abortion and sexual immorality and rightfully so, but why not speak against racism within the body of Christ, y'know, like those practiced by our good "southern baptist"?
Absolutley Amazing!! Since becomming a Christian I try to monitor my music, television, clothes, books, games, computer, even the way I speak (not easy when your a new Christian) I really try but in the western world we are bombarded with Satans influence, feels like its everywhere I turn, its not easy to block it all out, I hope it gets easier and I pray I get stronger.
WOW!! I HAVE BEEN CALLING MYSELF A CHRISTIAN FOR OVER 20 YEARS, BUT LIVING LIKE THE WORLD. I WANT TO START LIVING THE WAY A TRUE CHRISTIAN SHOULD LIVE; LIKE JESUS LIVED. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME; PLEASE. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL. ... ROBERT M. RUIZ
Listen to what this man have said... Listen closely to the words he has spoken.. For god is not always love.. He is also hate .. He hates because there is love.. You may not enter the Gate of Heaven if you are not known .. Not known from the holy son of god.. The gate to heaven .. Jesus.. He is the gate to the holy father .. You do not need to know him for him to know you.. You need to have him know you for you to know yourself.. Let Jesus .. God .. Everyone in your heart.. Open your heart open.
@casidaryan Jesus claimed to be God. He was worshipped as God and was recognized by early Jewish believers as being God. I suggest out of concern for you, that you read the following scriptures and write up to understand: carm dot org/jesus-two-natures
@casidaryan Jesus said he was the Son of God. To the Jews this was blasphemy because it meant Jesus was claiming to be ONE with God. They recognized this and the Pharisees and Saducees (the Jewish Teachers of the day) hated Him for it and wanted Him crucified because of His claims. Jesus also claimed to be the Son of Man, which in cultural comtext meant He was THE waited for Messiah of the Jews. This was a Messianic Title attributed to Him and claimed by Him as in the Book of Daniel.
@casidaryan read your bible, Jesus never said that He was a child of God; rather He said that He is (the) Son of God. And after His claim of that title the Jews often picked up stones to stone Him because of blasphemy; their accusation was that He being a man claimed that God was His father ( making Himself equal with God)
Thank you Jesus for helping me to see that I have been deceived listening to too many watered down gospel messages. I agree that these altar calls are giving people a false hope.
this is one of the most beautiful things if not THE, I have ever heard. I am catholic by upbringing but i understand you Paul. god bless you. you brought me tears of joy. thank you god for bringing me to see this gospel. i denied god after an accident when i needed him and his son the most. i so do hope i have the strength to live in his teachings.
@agmany Because too many people abuse or mimic it for it to be trustworthy by many. Tongues are only to be used when 1) it's needful due to the environment, where the Spirit will give you what to say to people of another language even though you don't understand it, and 2) as a sign done before a congregation that provides interpretation. Other than that, it's not scriptural, and therefore, a counterfeit.
I've listened to hours of Paul Washer messages on the subject of true salvation, God's wrath, sin and the cross and what is truly "shocking" is that he did not even use the word "grace" ONE TIME. Not once. The word is used over 120 times in the NT alone. By grace are we saved, through faith, Ephesians tells us.
I am always wary of someone who claims to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and feels they must begin their message on the defensive about their own reputation...
@TheMileaway GRACE IS WONDERFUL, BUT TOO MANY FENCE SITTIN SO CALLED CHRISTIANS, ARE AS LUKEWARM AS CAN BE, SMUG IN THEIR SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS, WHEN THEY ARE FILTHY INSIDE! GET REAL OR GET LOST! HE COMES FOR A WHITE RIGHTEOUS BRIDE! CHOOSE TODAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE!
@TheMileaway Not so. Listen again. 16 minutes into the sermon... "apart from the grace of God revealed in Jesus Christ our Lord, the only thing left for you is the wrath, the fierce anger of God, because of your rebellion and your sin." Paul is simply preaching "Law" and "Gospel." The Law condemns us in our sin. The Gospel proclaims Christ alone who by His death, delivers us from the wrath of God.
Don't think you can enter Heaven through your OWN works.
The hatred of sin and the desire to follow Jesus can only come from the Holy Spirit within you. God gave His son because we CAN'T restrain ourselves, only Jesus' has the power to justify you.
Romans 10:9 That if you say with your mouth "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your soul that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him will be saved

People should follow Christ and call them self follows of Christ, not Southern Baptist, or any other denomination.
zebramynd 3 hours ago
Christ still loves you and wants you forever. Read your Bible and try to live out Christ's words, but know that once you give your self to the Lord, you are His. If Paul is right, there are going to be a lot of hell bound Christians. The Gospel is then meaningless and there is no reason to follow it. Christ loves those who love Him and will be with you during your life to bring you to His understanding.
zebramynd 3 hours ago
You know in your heart if you love Christ. You know if you want to be with Jesus for all eternity. If you love Christ, he loves you and will never let you go. You do sin, repent of your sins, but know that Christ loves you and washes your sins clean. Did you sin in the past, today, or right now?
zebramynd 3 hours ago
My Father in-law did not come to Christ until his last days of life when he was in his 70's. He claimed to be a catholic, but he was a mean person. Later when he love Christ, he still sinned, but the change in Him was noticeable. I saw Christ in Him. He was not perfect, but he was a child of God and I knew he would be with Christ for all eternity. Repent of your sins, seek the will of the Father, but remember that Christ does love you with all of your shortcomings.
zebramynd 3 hours ago
In some cases, you may not even overcome some of your sins, but if you love Christ and call Him Lord, you do belong to Him. Paul brings up that you will be known by your fruits. If that's the case, a lot of preachers, even Paul has some demented fruits. I think that Paul should examine his own life and realize that he has as many sins as a teen-ager that dresses risky, a teen with a foul mouth, or a teen with a drinking problem. Change in humans with the Lord sometimes takes time.
zebramynd 3 hours ago
I know that Christ is carrying me and helping me. The Christ Paul portrays is not the Christ of the Bible. Christ loves those who love Hm. He loved us first before we ever loved Him. If you love Christ you know it deep in your heart. You may be ignoring sin, but God in your lifetime knows who you are and will be with you as you live to change your heart.
zebramynd 3 hours ago
You can be a homosexual and still be saved and go to heaven. It is true you should put your faith in the Lord and repent of doing drugs or other sins, but Jesus loves you if you love Him, unconditionally. I love the Lord with everything in me, but I do have problems that I have to overcome.
zebramynd 3 hours ago
Repenting of your sins is right, but if we are all sinners, we have a lot of repenting to do everyday. A teen or adult who does drugs may be carnal, but they are saved if they confessed with their tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead. Struggling with sin does not mean that you are not saved. You can be addicted to drugs and still be saved.
zebramynd 3 hours ago
Those who love Christ know it. Doing everything right and following all the commands immediately is not required. Dressing sensually does not mean that you are not saved. A new Christian may not have the understanding of what they may be doing is not right. But if they love Christ and gave their life to Christ, He will bring understanding to them. It may not be right away, because we are sinners and we will sin continually until the day we die.
zebramynd 3 hours ago
He condemns himself. I do agree some people think that they are saved and are not. What I am writing about is those people who are saved because they love Christ, but have struggles or they need to have Christ bring them to more of the understanding that it takes to follow Him.
zebramynd 3 hours ago
This guy misses Grace and everyone listening to this message should understand that Christ is also a God of Grace. Paul overlooks that he is a sinner as much as all of his audience and he sins every day just like every teen he is speaking to. Some of his sins he does not even knows he does.

You quote by this opinion was John 3:16, John 3:16 is true but you can't ignore John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

God bless.
jacksmack77 1 month ago
@jacksmack77 Tell me where Paul W condemns people to hell? Paul Washer is not condemning anyone, the Bible is! But we don't want to read the truth because the truth always hurts. When the preaching about sin and hell decreases, the meaning of the Cross and God's grace in that Cross also fades. That's how you got saved in the first place, right? The Law is there to slay all hope of salvation, but which only can be found in Christ alone.
Gothxha 1 month ago
@jacksmack77 you obviously don't know anything of Theology do you.
There are more ignorant Christians in this western North American continent that are totally sound to the assumption that Christianity conforms to this world.
Read Psalm 5:4 and Proverbs 6:16 ....and then study some good systematic Theology, because you'll need it to understand those passages, and you may find that you could be one that Christ speaks of in Matt.7:21.

...Ok...so PAUL, a true believer, a disciple of Christ, admits that there is still wickedness within him that he struggles with. The KEY is, do you EMBRACE your sin or do you, when God brings it to your attention, agree with God that it is sin and turn away from it? God is not a legalistic God, and God is not a "Southern Baptist"....I agree with some of the things he's saying but please, people....take what this preacher says and weigh it against the Word of the Living God.
kcline6969 2 months ago
@kcline6969: Weigh what you say against the Word. 1 John 3:6 "No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him." What is being emphasized is simply this; Are we serious Slaves of Christ or pretenders; people who want a Savior without a Lord? Listen to it again. Matthew is clear (Matt 7:22-23; many will do religion and perish. Hate your sin; hate your life; you will save your life. The Way is NARROW, HARD, and FEW FIND IT (Matt 7:14)
jimadams71 2 months ago
@jimadams71
PAUL struggled with sin as a BELIEVER...
kcline6969 2 months ago
@kcline6969: It seems you're missing all the crucial points. First you seem to confuse justification and sanctification. Paul points rightly to the truth that faith without works is dead. Saving faith ALWAYS leads to works that prove justification true. Second it's irrelevant whether or not Paul includes himself in a statement. The ONLY issue is whether or not his teaching is biblical. The verse you gave is a comfort for those who are at war with their sin and still stumble along the way...
jimadams71 2 months ago
@jimadams71 ...Every single believer is at war with their sin, so are you, so is this preacher who posted this video. We have an old and new nature. Bottom line, I had a problem with this preacher's constant referrels to "southern baptists" as if that organization is "the way". That term is not found in the bible and is divisive and exclusive to a man made organization. I don't like that he didn't include himself as one who stumbles in sin. Seems arrogant and pious.
kcline6969 2 months ago
@kcline6969: Many Christians think it arrogant and pious when something challenging is said. Paul believes you are saved by grace alone. It's not a justification question... it's sanctification. The reason the church looks so much like the world is that they are not pursuing holiness. They're content to have Jesus as Savior but not Lord... the problem there is you get neither without both. I'm not southern baptist either, but I'm more concerned with whether or not his challenge applies to me.
jimadams71 2 months ago
@jimadams71...I understand and agree. The bottom line of the point I'm trying to make is this: When the time comes to give account to God, and if He wants to know why you should be allowed to enter into heaven...The only answer that one can give is dependence upon Christ for salvation. Our righteousness is as filthy rags before God. Faith in Christ alone saves. Works come as a result of being saved. I understand about the church...and not pursuing holiness, and agree 100%.
kcline6969 2 months ago
@kcline6969: Paul is speaking to them about their contentment with being just like the world. I'm very familiar with Paul Washer's teachings and the evidence in the church of the truth of what he is saying. As I said initially, listen again. This time challenge yourself to evaluate the validity of the message based on ALL of scripture. Paul's message (here and elsewhere) is biblical, through and through. Martin Luther said..."We are saved by faith alone, but not by a faith that is alone"
jimadams71 2 months ago
@jimadams71 I didn't say anything unbiblical, btw, and stand behind what I've said. I agree with the statement you made here. Good works come as a result of being saved, not in order to stay saved...that is the point I'm trying to make. True believers can rebel at times, they can ignore God's spirit, they can quench God's spirit...That is not a desirable place to be, but it is a place a true Christian can be at times.
kcline6969 2 months ago
@jimadams71..."These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life." 1Jn5:13. Your saved through FAITH alone. Good works come as a result of being saved, not to "stay saved". Look at the story of the progal son, that is how God deals with us. We have a new and old nature that wars against each other. To think to an extreme on either of our points is misunderstanding what God says.
kcline6969 2 months ago
Ok....I have a couple of issues. First, why the constant referral to being a true "Southern Baptist"? Where is THAT found in the bible? Also,he is saying that if you are a "true" believer, there is "no wickedness" in you....and you shouldn't see that reflected in a true believer's life. But the bible says that we will continue to struggle against sin after being saved. "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." Ro.7:15...

Please don't confuse the two terms.
chuckiescreamer 3 months ago
@chuckiescreamer says "None of us know whether or not we're 'saved' until Judgment Day" How sad to live in such a state of unknowing. What a burden God never meant for you to carry. "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life." 1 John 5:13.
kcline6969 2 months ago
@chuckiescreamer ...... Notice it does not say that that "by your works you may know".....it says "to you who believe". Works are NOT given to EARN or KEEP our salvation. Good works come as a RESULT of being saved.
kcline6969 2 months ago
Jesus says 'those who endure to the end will be saved.' Paul says 'run the race to win' and 'work out your salvation with fear and trembling'. Any preacher who talks about the rebirth process as being "saved" is misinterpreting salvation. None of us know whether or not we're 'saved' until Judgment Day, otherwise God might as well start looking for another job. Being born again does not mean we're saved; it means God's spirit is with us, and so our chances of 'enduring to the end' are better.

It's about a life change.
bemr79 8 months ago

The correct response to this video would be to denounce Christianity.

He clearly stated several times that "one is only saved by grace alone through faith alone." What he is also saying is that by our fruit men will know we are saved. James 1:22-25, 2:14-20, "You see that a man is justified (proven to be saved) by his works and not by faith alone" James 2:24.

This may explain where most of the negetive feedback comes from.

to those who try to deny the necessity of a changed life for Christians, it's true, it's not the changed life that saves us.

This video has also changed my life. At first I didn't want to listen to Paul, but God told me to finish watching the video.
God granted me repentance shortly after watching Paul. I'm forever indebted to this man. Thank you Paul and God Bless you paul.

i am conyinually amazed that when a christian comes out and tells the truth and calls a spade or calls sin for what it is SIN people say that they are judging you have to come out from the rest and be seperate

good point, that Satan acknowledges that Jesus is Lord.
starsiegeplayer 10 months ago

This man is a fool he claims scripture, yet he clearly contradicts it, he says you cant get into hevan unless you do works, but jesus cleared you of your sins, make up your mind Mr. washer
MrWarp94 10 months ago
@MrWarp94 He never says "you cant get into hevan unless you do works," he's saying your works will be a sign of true faith in Jesus (which the Scripture clearly teaches in James 2).
mcsteward 10 months ago
@mcsteward im alittle late on this but, James is refering to Dead Faith, and i agree he is kinda saying that, but he says the only way to salvation is with works, and that is a lie
MrWarp94 8 months ago
@MrWarp94 Actually, he says the opposite at 14:59 (the only way to salvation is through Jesus) & 15:30 (our works are like filthy rags). What part of the video are you talking about?

so lo0kitzmeng if you have faith you are allowed to be an asshole, you will be saved anyway...why do you need the promise of eternal live to be good in this one? WHat if there is anything after death?.
Try to be good now, through what you do not through your narcissistic "faith"
aarebalos 10 months ago
@aarebalos Why should I "try to be good now?" If there's no God, no judgment, no "eternal life," why be good?

your telling me salvation which we did nothing to deserve and cannot be be earned by doing any good works can be undone by doing works? this doesn't make sense...where in the bible does it say that our wrong doing will lose or salvation but in the bible in clearly saids it's through faith we are saved not by works!!!
lo0kitzmeng 10 months ago
@lo0kitzmeng I don't think he's saying your salvation can be "undone" by wrong works...I think he's asking people to examine whether or not they ever had salvation in the first place.
He's saying that a lot of people have been deceived and currently think they have salvation from Jesus, but they do not and never have (not that they have lost it or are in danger of losing it).

I'm saved and live for the Lord, what bugs me about preachers like those is, they'll speak against abortion and sexual immorality and rightfully so, but why not speak against racism within the body of Christ, y'know, like those practiced by our good "southern baptist"?

Are those southern baptist that Washer brags about part of the KKK, should we count them as "brothers in Christ", c'mon, lets make excuses for them.

Open your heart open.

casidaryan 11 months ago
@casidaryan Jesus claimed to be God. He was worshipped as God and was recognized by early Jewish believers as being God. I suggest out of concern for you, that you read the following scriptures and write up to understand: carm dot org/jesus-two-natures
Hebrews927 11 months ago
@casidaryan Jesus said he was the Son of God. To the Jews this was blasphemy because it meant Jesus was claiming to be ONE with God. They recognized this and the Pharisees and Saducees (the Jewish Teachers of the day) hated Him for it and wanted Him crucified because of His claims. Jesus also claimed to be the Son of Man, which in cultural comtext meant He was THE waited for Messiah of the Jews. This was a Messianic Title attributed to Him and claimed by Him as in the Book of Daniel.
Hebrews927 11 months ago
@casidaryan read your bible, Jesus never said that He was a child of God; rather He said that He is (the) Son of God. And after His claim of that title the Jews often picked up stones to stone Him because of blasphemy; their accusation was that He being a man claimed that God was His father ( making Himself equal with God)

It's a good message but I don't understand why he doesn't believe in speaking in tongues.
agmany 1 year ago
@agmany Because too many people abuse or mimic it for it to be trustworthy by many. Tongues are only to be used when 1) it's needful due to the environment, where the Spirit will give you what to say to people of another language even though you don't understand it, and 2) as a sign done before a congregation that provides interpretation. Other than that, it's not scriptural, and therefore, a counterfeit.

TheMileaway 1 year ago
I've listened to hours of Paul Washer messages on the subject of true salvation, God's wrath, sin and the cross and what is truly "shocking" is that he did not even use the word "grace" ONE TIME. Not once. The word is used over 120 times in the NT alone. By grace are we saved, through faith, Ephesians tells us.
I am always wary of someone who claims to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and feels they must begin their message on the defensive about their own reputation...
TheMileaway 1 year ago
@TheMileaway GRACE IS WONDERFUL, BUT TOO MANY FENCE SITTIN SO CALLED CHRISTIANS, ARE AS LUKEWARM AS CAN BE, SMUG IN THEIR SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS, WHEN THEY ARE FILTHY INSIDE! GET REAL OR GET LOST! HE COMES FOR A WHITE RIGHTEOUS BRIDE! CHOOSE TODAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE!
plalelal 1 year ago
@TheMileaway Not so. Listen again. 16 minutes into the sermon... "apart from the grace of God revealed in Jesus Christ our Lord, the only thing left for you is the wrath, the fierce anger of God, because of your rebellion and your sin." Paul is simply preaching "Law" and "Gospel." The Law condemns us in our sin. The Gospel proclaims Christ alone who by His death, delivers us from the wrath of God.
JacksonFamily7 1 year ago
Don't think you can enter Heaven through your OWN works.
The hatred of sin and the desire to follow Jesus can only come from the Holy Spirit within you. God gave His son because we CAN'T restrain ourselves, only Jesus' has the power to justify you.
Romans 10:9 That if you say with your mouth "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your soul that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him will be saved
