How long did it take for M-Audio to repair? How much did it set you back?

Lets open it up. Wow. Look! There are a bunch of silicon chips in there. Now put the lid back on it, send it away to be fixed, wast some money, then do what everybody else does. Go by a new one. In the old days, I repaired audio equipment for a living, then came the silicone chip. Little chips were O.K. Big chips are when repair possibilities went out of the window, pretty much. LOL.

I did try replacing a couple of the caps in the power section and a couple of "puffy" ones in the audio path. I have sold and and purchased a MOTU 2408MK3 that I am having upgraded by Black Lion Audio because they rock my world!

just FYI, I have 2 of these badboys. They are great. However one of them went bad and stopped working. I opened it up and found that some of the "power"capacitors had gone bad. After some research, it turns out this is quite common and are easy to replace. So I just replaced the bad capacitors and it has been working flawlessly for the past 3 yrs.
