Those extra minutes u shave off are definately not worth the risk. good luck to ya and please move the ladder next time, atleast while u do a video that is going on youtube.
problem with a fixed length sling you're always dealing with different diameter wood so either it's not long enough or it's too long and you're having to shock load it from the added length/drop or you're carrying a bunch of expensive fixed length slings. there's a reason pros use knots. i've chunked huge wood in the pacific northwest on a daily basis for a decade. the ladder gave it away though. better chance of falling off it than falling off the tree in hooks with a steelcore flipper.
again get some tenex slings. this was pretty un pro rigging with the ladder still in the way and droping pieces that big without the appropriate sized lowering lines.
i was referring to cutting corners by using that rigging sling as oppose to an eye sling. Besides, the tenex slings are not expensive at all.

never bite a sling on the tag if you damage the tag you have to throw it away
