many american or foreign choirs been singing this piece, is it because the UST chorale sang this in a foreign country (which it seems they did, I suppose)?
@Blavat666 So sorry for you, dude. Not because people hate you now but because you don't have what it takes to be a human who knows how to appreciate art. If you think they are primitive then pity you. What you are actually doing is uncivilized. Go look at yourself. Can you accomplish these things yourself? Of course not. You are nothing next to them. Another thing, you are telling us that this group's performance is over-acting. Hate to say this but you are the one over-acting. Hahaha!! :P

This song was written in 1890, but in a different filipino language you can find details if you try the search "Mariposa bella [Paruparong bukid] , this is a version of the original recorded in the 60's
July 1995 when the UST Singers won the "Choir of the World" Grand Prize at Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod in UK - it is the Oldest Existing Choral Competition in the World. Incidentally, that year was the same year that the late Luciano Pavarotti (Tenor) calebrated his homecoming to Llangollen where he first sang professionally as a chorister from his father's Men's Choir that competed in the same competition 50 years ago.
Here is where the UST Singers met Luciano Pavarotti, and he actually told to the choir that they are great champions. You can actually see the video of that here in Youtube, just search: UST Singers with Luciano Pavarotti.
I've heard other choirs interpret this song but nothing beats this interpretation. Simply the best and I always enjoy listening to this performance.
