  • @snowconesolid - cool!

  • kool mannng... pretty smart...

  • Evrybody thinks that a robot is a machine that looks like a man, but a robot can also be only a arm.

This is a great scetsh, but not a robot.

  • @theXXskater - true say - its just to inspire people dude ;)

  • @apostolis633 Did you even read the title of this vid?:p

  • song !?

  • @sebonskio selfmade-remix of "do the hustle"

  • Song?

  • how are you drawing in the beginning? freehand tool on an opened image file? it looks like a vector tool? or are you using small line segments? that seems tough..

  • @InnovationalFilms - there is a tool to draw lines or curves. i xplain this in my other clip "the basic tools" - watch?v=1NREaJLMpaI

  • @andrefritz yea just noticed you were using the arc and line tools. For a second it didnt look like those tools because of how nice the shapes were that you made, sorry to bother, thank you!

  • @InnovationalFilms - no problem - happy when i can help. take care.

  • that"s what i call a drawer

  • @ziadzee54 - :)

  • how do you shamfer exactly? do i need to get the pro version?

  • @ConnorXV ... i dont think you need the pro-version to chamfer. there are different ways to do it (e.g. with the push-pull-tool or by activating and moving/rotating elements). if i understand your question corectly ... send me a pm and ask more precise if you like

  • where can i find this song/remix???

  • @dinosaur4141 - ugh.. i made it years ago. dont think you find it on the web... feel free to extract it from the video ;)

  • VERY GOOD VIDEO

  • i have 2 things to say about this video. 1. this is a walktrough, not a tutorial. 2. this is NOT google sketchup.

  • @007speedcuber - it is google sketchup... 6.0 ...

and: i added a tutorial "the basic tools"

  • what template is this?

  • what were the options that you clicked when you made the left side of the body?

  • @dingoshingo - make a "component" (check your right-mouse-button-menu) and copy it. after that changes appear in all the copies of this "component" ... in the german version you hit "G" to create a component. i hope this helps.

  • This video, got me interested in SketchUp. This way is one of my favorite ways to create shapes with...

  • Such classic music :3

  • 14 people are jealous they cant do it

  • oh... i meant a real robot

  • great job mate

  • @MrSeb9898 - thank you

  • 14 people are robots :D

  • wow

  • what version of sketchup os this? i cant do that scale thing in mine!

  • @GuyPerson911 - i use sketchup 6 ... but i think the shortcut "s" for skaling is the same in later versions, isnt it?

  • Good jobs.

  • yeah very simmple in my ass

  • anybody an idea what this song is? It's on the tip of my tongue, but I just can't remember.

Great robot btw. not at all ugly, it's quit aesthetical pleasing, even if it's just a simple robot made with simple tools.

  • @kittyminty aaah... "do the hustle" offcourse. So never mind my question ^^ .

  • @kittyminty - bingo! ;)

  • @andrefritz which remix is it though, theres so many its hard to find

  • @savagecabage - i made the remix years ago

  • how the hell is that ugly?!? WTF i thought it looked pretty kick ass and even if the person that made it says its simple, it takes skill to keep patient. People these days have VERY SHORT ATTENTION SPANS. D:

  • @MrPondiz - congratulations.

    first ugly comment here. ;)

  • @andrefritz is kinda, but judging it for aesthetics is hardly the point, it'd be great with sketchyphysics nodes, better with a physical device to manipulate it... far as i know, only joystick is supported besides mouse n stuff. an 8 axis device would be a good start.

  • @felderup - the model in the clip is more like a sketch. to make it "work" it has to be constructed much more complicated... actually it was just a quick test ;)

  • @andrefritz yes... which is what i was saying.

  • @MrPondiz can you do better?

  • ugly

  • interesting, now i know how to make my mech, i wasn't sure about the right technique to do it,

    thank you

  • simple my ass

  • @NarukamiTenjin - hehe. c´mon. scale and move - and some patience

  • how do you scale?

  • @Daodoc - hit "s"

  • omg expert =]

  • @punastudxem - haha. oehm.. no?

  • haha amazing.!

  • how do i draw pm me plz

  • wow, absolutely brilliant :D

  • No idea you r going for a robot. ...

  • robots freak me out O.O

  • can you make films on sketchup?

  • @MrNayl0r - i you can export the cam-positions into a kind of film, but not at all...

  • O_O WTF??!!! COMO HAHGO PARA QUE ME APAREZCA ESTA HOJA PARA MODELAR?? 0:07

  • @LoquendomichaelxD ... sry, es possible tu hables ingles? no comprende mucho espanjol, knomseng ;)

  • wyc cant i make it too 2 dimesions? is it some settings? please help

  • Nice....

  • THE MUST FUN 3d soft EVER

  • i want to do this but when i want to download google sketch up i need to sign up and its about company stuff. is there a diffrent way to download it?

  • @wanabeast ... i think you have to leave your e-mailadress or something. that was different before. dont think there s another way, sorry...

  • @wanabeast go to download.com and search sketchup its still free, 100% safe and you don't have to login or leave an email address, hope this helps

  • Awesome!!! Man I'm uploading a vid of a dunking donut shop I'm making, Im subscribing man

  • @The2Coolest2 - cool. your donuthops roxx!

  • Whata fuck has you been smoking? =P

  • how do you create the elements?

  • check the right-mousebutton-menu or hit "G" to create an element (actually its called komponent)

  • is this google sketchup 7?

  • so nice ...thanx

  • @kamalhasnainee - u r welcome. thank you for watching.

  • i love music!

  • is there any button to turn collision on. i need to meke some adjustment but i dont want the chain to break. it took me 3h to get ti together like it is but now need ti change a bit

  • i an into a big prob. i made a group. i made copy of it. thne those 2 i made into 1 group. but now i need to get 1 of em out of the group but i cant. can someone help me???

  • @marko9900 - enter the group and cut out the part you want to remove (strg+X). leave the group and paste it (strg+V) - hope that helps.

  • @andrefritz ok onc ei find the strg button i can do it. And also im makeing a huge cog, but i can t get it match with the chain. is ther eany special trick to it??? I tryed to put the chain in the shape of a circle but i always get oval.

  • @marko9900 strg = ctrl - depends on your keyboard. sorry man - there is no english word "cog" ... so i can not help you with your further questions because i dont understand what exactly you try to do there...

  • @andrefritz cogwheel

  • @andrefritz A cog is basically a gear..

  • @marko9900 - uploaded a cogwheel for you - hope that helps...

  • Song Name please!

  • @euroalby - remix of "the hustle"

  • To do these in Autodesk Maya you've to spend one hour, if you are a starter as I'm!

  • Nicely done! With I had some craetivety to just make something out of my head

  • start with some sketchups ;)

  • Very nice short tutorial for somebody who wants to get into Sketch Up for the first time

    Thanks for the video!

  • @hassanmaster1 True.

  • this isn't much of a tutorial.. if it was a tutorial he shud be speaking with hes own voice and explain every singel step.. wich wud make a video of about 10-15 minutes, that's a real tutorial... but besides from that i thought this was really cool, just a sham ethat beginners cant learn so much from it =/

  • read the discription please. there is an additional tutorial explaining everything. no worries... ;)

  • thats cool

  • Quick question: When you say "create elements", what exactly do you mean? I assumed that the parts you shaped were the elements..

  • @AururaB maybe the right description is "component". by clicking some activated paths with the right mousebutton u find the option to create a component (or hit G on your keyboard.

components can be used more often. u drag and drop them from your libary into your szcene. thats all.

i copied and flipped the components (arms, legs, etc). so i can make changes (e.g. on one arm) and they will appear on both sides of the model.

    hope that helps.

  • It does - thank you very much for your reply!

  • Amazing!

  • Very cool.

  • How do you scale?

  • hit "s"

  • thanks

  • wow thnx...i could apply these in making gun models as well =D

  • how can you copy things like the arm and the legs?????

  • push strg and a tiny "+" appears on your mouse. push strg another time, to switch off the copy-mode again, knomseng?

check out my other tutorial "the basic tools". i explain everything there.

  • I love this technique! Thank you!

  • happy when you are ;)

  • 1:52?

How do you invert the objects? :(

About andrefritz's comment, what is the best program for games? =)

    Thank you ^^

    5*

  • you can flip objects along the red, blue and green line. check out the right-mouse-menu for this mirror-function.

  • wow

    awesome

  • how do you minimize and maximize objects

  • no idea what u r talking about dude? ...

  • maybe he's talkin' bout the scale tool

  • how do u get the scale tool to move it to the middle? i cant do it.

  • hold down the strg-key while you scale ;)

  • can u make like characters for a game with this program. or just houses?

  • u can shape them in sketchup but u will need blender or 3dmax or other 3d-software to work it out.

for games you work with low-poly... so maybe sketchup is not the best tool for this at all.

  • How do you get the white background to sketch on?

I'm stuck in the 3D view.

  • choose the topview and draw a square dude ;)

  • Sorry dude,

    but this is awesome :D

  • cool

  • tnx, very usefull!

  • u r welcome

  • isnt this song "Do The Hustle"?

  • it is ;)

  • whats this song??

  • I think it may be "Do The Hustle"?

  • this is a great tutorial. dont listen to idiots who say otherwise.

  • what template is that?

  • Doesn't matter what template its in. SU will do what he's showing you. He's using tools not measurements. Point is, draw the shapes using the tools Andre's showing you and try it out

He's using the arc tool to draw shapes, selecting them, then scaling them holding the alt key or he uses a pc so maybe the option key to do a uniform scale...he copies the whole finished part, flips it then turns the result into a component and possibly a group too in order to move separate parts easily...MtD

  • hehe - yes sir!

hope u r good - thx for answering this one.

  • clever, i like

  • some more so blur. bleh
