Wow. Beautiful. I'm making a playlist of all the techniques we drill in class, so I can just refer to it with my buddies whenever we train. And this is EXACTLY what we just went over. I also understand the comment was from over a year ago, but with the second armbar, I actually find it a lot TIGHTER with the ankles crossed, as opposed to keeping the legs straight. Thanks again, guys.
hmm looks easier than it is, great transition from full guard though. I also noticed that you used your foot on the outside of is hip to move yourself around... never been taught that but it seems like it would work. must give it a try. Thanks for the new vid!!!
you should of posted this earlier cause i wrestled my friend and i got slammed rampage style 3 times. never knew this. next time i'm gonna catch him with an armbar. thanks.
You made a total rookie comment because it is perfectly acceptable to cross your feet on the other side of your opponents head during an armbar. In fact, a lot of the guys at 10th Planet prefer to cross the legs under the farside arm. The time that you're referring to NEVER cross your feet is when you have your opponent's back.
If you're going to make negative comments, please be correct.
Point taken, the 10th planet guys do cross feet. BUT that's only from the spider web position and when the person gettin armbared is locking up to try and prevent the submission.
Well take what works for you and stick with it. I've been doing this for just a little while and have made a conscious effort to minimize my "rookie" mistakes.
Ain't that what we all strive to do. LOL. I've only been grappling for 5 years and trust me its been a journey because I started out doing catch. It wasn't until I stumbled across the Subs101 vids that BJJ became my dominant grappling background
i dont get how the first armbar worked. because ur head was on his right side, but u had his left arm....i think i understand it but can u clarify plz?
@theneenjah No- I originally was attacking his right arm, but he quickly pulls it out. Therefore I have to transition to the triangle. There's actually another video that focuses on that transition, as this one primarily focuses on the triangle back to another armbar.
agreed, i find it's safer because it put all force on the lower back of the neck and gives them alot less chance of slipping the leg off by pushing on that knee with the free arm
@BBoyFunky It doesn't matter if you cross your feet if they're on the side of his head, he won't be able to do anything about it and it doesn't put you in any bad spots.
you should make an armbar to triangle to opmoplata back to an armbar vid, i aactually had a guy work his way out of all of those until i put him in the last armbard
Iv'e had this done on me. Worked really well because i was focusing on defending my other arm and the guy just switched so fast i never saw it coming.

Your friend slams you rampage style during sparring?
BodybuildingTom 2 years ago
You can also grab the leg to help keep them off balance so they cant slam you.
