@Leperchan15 maybe they thought a spatula would distract the audience away from the humor. Some would be too disgusted by the fact that its a cooking itensil to be able to think of the funny side. Thats just a guess.

@emmajd1: Maybe, upon reflection, someone in the creative crew came up with a better idea than using a spatula. Using a shoe-horn is really "out there". And face it, a shoe-horn is not just "out-there", and demented. It's shape is more functional for fishing coiled, pseudo-cylindrical, stinky segments out of a toilet early in the morning, as quickly as possible. I suspect that the character Agnes ended up preferring the shoe-horn to the spatula.
