Buy extended warranty. I had same problem 2 years after purchased. Part is power related and entire panel required. Good Luck, hope your does not do what mine did.
but these tv's today are not the quality like they were in the old days. I remember one customer recently brought in a zenith tv to our shop for repair.
His zenith was 23 years old and this was the first time it had needed repair !!
My Samsung TV does it too. I called the 1800 number and the only help they can provide is if they send a technician down, and that is always expensive. I can't get the TV replace either. It's past the warranty and it doesn't help that no one knows what the problem is.
Search Samsung repair on youtube , it seems this problem can sometimes be related to failed capacitors on the power supply board of the tv.The upside of this being if this is the problem it is fairly cheap to fix however you need to be fairly good at soldering and pretty careful handling the power supply board (as you can get nasty/potentially lethal shocks from them). Then again if it failed in the first place what was the reason for it doing so and will it happen again?
Already got it fixed by a local TV repair company. They ended up replacing the parts you said. Cost me 300 bucks. Whatever... it works now, that's all I care about... what I paid to get it fixed is in the past.
I have all the same problems. There are numerous reports of power supply failures and main board failures. Sharp insists when I called them that this is an isolated problem but if you do a quick search you will find a lot of angry people posting about this. It was in the shop for 5 months and I was told it was unrepairable. $2000 for a TV that dies in just over a year. Anyone interested in a class action lawsuit?
thats what happen to mine

62U if I remember right. I eventually just got it replaced by Best Buy for a new one, but the new one had a dead pixel. Oh, well, at least it worked.
