Yeah guys i'm now 35 but when this hit the screens in the UK it really upset me & i'm a guy..... lol. 1996 July - & there was no build up to it, it just happend & ended up shakin the Nation of 'Home & Away' lovers! @seanvilla710 There was a build up to. They leaked out information that shane was going to die on the show. Then he had the bike accident and disappeared for a while and people thought that was it until he reappeared and the fact he was gonna die by blood poisoning was leaked too. I remember me and my friends hearing about it and thinking it was a terrible way to kill off such a great character. Then it happened just like they said. They are not always wrong!

I remember watching this when I was like 7...Shane and Angel were like my all-time favourite soap characters back then. I cried soooooo much when this happened, the world wasn't as spoilerific so I was in total shock lol. Shane and Angel were such a great soap couple, Home and Away ahs never lived up to the way it was in the mid-90s, with it's cyclones, bushfires, Alf's surf shop, freaky cults and Irene's blue eyeshadow :'(

I'm pretty sure he cut his thumb on some chickenwire in someones backyard when he was helping them make a coop or move it or something. It meant nothing at the time then a couple of months later he suddenly got sick on their honeymoon or trip or something from blood poisoning/tetanus or something.

if memory serves correctly, shane died from septicemia a little while after he visited a friend of his who ran a farm and cut his finger on a fence and sadly thought nothing about it at the time of doing it.....i think that was it. The friend im question may have been Travis but im not too sure :o)
