Although The Pretenders did record a cover of this song (its correct name is "Angel of the Morning"), it is not a Pretenders song. It was written in 1967 by Chip Taylor who's real name is James Wesley Voight.

If the last name sounds familiar, Chip Taylor is one of actor Jon Voight's brothers.

The Pretenders didn't record their cover until 1995, almost 30 years after the song was written.
