thsi si amazing i love ethnic music ,.. my father loves world music liek paddy ... i love to learn more iam a huge kate bush fancy and what i notice about her early workd that paddy would play all sort sof interasting interments ... in kates music ,.. i think it is very inportant .. the sounds are beauitful fruitful for the ears .. paddy a brillent player and a huge part in the music world too!!
This documentary is amazing - beautifully filmed and thoughtfully put together. Paddy Bush is a walking encyclopedia on Malagasy music and an accomplished valiha and marovany player. Fantastic to see this clip on Youtube.
There I heard a valiha player who impressed me very much. But what did I see this very night at Antananarivo:
The player held this instrument not being supported between the knees or under one arm; no, he was playing it hanging free between his hands - without any other support !!! It was unbelievable, and he played it like from heaven.
I am happy to notice the widespread interest for this instrument lanced by the presentation via internet.

Thank you so much for talking about Rakotozafy. He is my favourite musician even if he died for a long time ago.

Thank you so much for posting this. Rakotozafy was, and is, the true master of the Valiha.
