I was so lucky to grow up in the early eighties at the age of 11-13 going to see Rickey play at the Coliseum, I was there the day he broke Lou Brocks record against the Yankees, Stole 1st and 2nd! HE SCREWED WITH SO MANY PITCHERS WHEN HE WAS ON BASE! They would look over their shoulder,throw to 1st,pitch out, the batter was given no respect Rickey was on. HALL OF FAME BABY!! I am a long time Yankkee fan and most yankee fans hate ricky I guess becasue he got hurt and couldnt pitch as well as hit and run..and after they traded him he helped the A's win the world series and hit .330 ..I however always loved ricky and I always will he was real fan friendly and helpful to younger players as Al Lieter pointed out recently..he gets a bad rap in NY atleast with Yankee fans but he was one of the greatest offensive players to ever play period.
