And to think that Spector was worried that this song would fail on the charts, since it was the first he recorded that "didn't have a backbeat." Also, check the "3:05" time stamp on the single, which was purposely misleading to fool program directors into thinking the song was shorter than what it really was.
I would give everything I own just to be a fly on the wall during one of these sessions at Goldstar studios. I heard when they switched on the recording console you could literally smell the tubes warming up in the amp.
@DennyTedesco Denny, if only we had LIVE footage of these talented musicians at this historic session.....I can dream. I have really enjoyed the scans of the original recording contracts of some of The Wrecking Crew's sessions that you've shared at The Wrecking Crew website. The contract for this date would be a fantastic addition.
Utterly fantastic.....what an imagination Spector had !!!!!!

@soulagent79 You and me both. Such amazing, historic musical masterpieces came out of that little studio with it's mighty echo chamber.

From what I know about "tubes warming up" in a closed room, it's not a very pleasant air to breathe.

Wow. Sounds entirely like some tracks Pet Sounds. It was no secret how much Brian admired Phil.

@newburyma7 I totally agree..when I first heard the track I thought of Brian and how this could easily have been a BB song

@GREGMCKEE YES! It sounds so much like Brian's stuff, all the Pet Sounds elements... eerie!

Now there's some history. Is there a plug-in for this type of sound?

@smidijack Nothing special used for this upload. Just uploaded the track using Windows Movie Maker. Photos and the mp3, that's all.
