Where are the key changes the contrast its all that tink tink tink tink tink tink tinkboom splassh tinkboom splash tink tink tink etc change keys in mid rif, its more interesting and contrast emotions soft angry soft happy sad angry , get it?
@holdenc96 He is famous, silly. I've seen him 3 times all over the Midwest.. I believe his song "buttmachine" was also on a Weeds' episode forever ago
his tone reminds me of trent reznor's... this guys fuckin awesome, so original... saw him at a buckethead show... those 2 together? = was blooown away
The absolute only thing that could make this any better is Les Claypool Playing Bass, and Buckethead playing Electric, or even a BANJO!!! Going to see him in a couple days after a fun-filled day of drinking at the St. Patty's day parade!
The True artist, not the overwhelming musical mimicry of today's supermarket back-round music. Originality, thank heaven it still exists. This genius expresses from nowhere else but the temple of the mind. He's zoned into the royal road and brings us along with him. Totally cool, my mind is still flashing and I've only had coffee.
@dcofosho224. Let's assume for a minute there is no sarcasm in your post (if there is, ignore the following comment). What art are you talking about? The tortured modern crap that a 6 year old could conjure, I assume? If so, then your comment rings true. If you were talking about proper art - put down the crayons, you could hurt someone.
@spraydose187 excuse me?? pretty sure the moon is disgusting isnt exactly the best advice given in music. as a matter of fact im a music junkee and i play a hell of a lot my self. meaningfull lyrics are those such as love for a child by jason mraz and hollywood by angus and julia stone. not saying i dont like this performer, i think he is amazing and has a very different style, but i chose my music for the meaning portrayed in the songs and lyrics and i just dont understnad the story within this
first time I ever saw this guy, was at a experimental music fest.. everyone there sucked soooooooo bad, and I was gonna leave. but then this 1 guy came on stage with this magic pipe, and I was like, I gotta stay to see this... one of my favorite artists... this guy is bad ass!
I saw him live and I have been to countless shows and I can safely say... this guy is the greatest show I have ever seen! He radiates ingenuity and class.
Dude at World Fest he did not have his instrument because they held it at Customs at the airport. I think that was just wrong. He still performed with a stand up bass he borrowed and he was awesome. I never heard weather he got his instrument back.
Love this 1 guy! This song reminds me of manson.... something something shes so hard to please. Its been driving me crazy! Am I way off? Anyone else get that?
i was talking and hanging with him after his show at woodford one year and asked him if he had a thing against cheese and he goes 'aw nah man i LOVE cheese. you know? the mouldier the better, i love blue cheese and really soft stuff like camenbere' in his san frisco accent
That1guy DID invent the Magic Pipe from scratch AND, just for the record, the Magic Pipe existed before the wammola by at least three years. They are VERY different instruments. Also, Les did not invent the Wammola. An instrument builder in Burlington VT invented it, built it, and gave it to Les. Les plays the shit out of it and has made that instrument famous. Apples and Oranges...
i saw him with buckethead a couple years ago and no one knew what to expect. needless to say, we were all blown away. and after buckethead's set he played another hour and half WITH buckethead. what an amazing show
@dcofosho224 he didn't exactly invent it from scratch it's just a whamola with some extra shit added to it... it's an elaboration of an instrument invented by les claypool... and even the whamola is just an electric standup bass with a single string and a whammy bar... not to take away from what this dude is doing.. he's awesome.. but don't be so hard on yourself originality is just elaborated copying ;)
@gtochad it would be a good exercise to find out for sure who did I guess, but in any case even if he didn't it still serves to prove my point. Originality is just embellishing what others that came before left us with. Everything is just a development of something else that already exists. So it's silly to get down on ourselves and feel like these people are so "above" us when really they haven't done anything we ourselves are not capable of. Get off the couch and go create something. ;)
@dcofosho224 You can spit on a piece of paper and call it "art." Then you'll have pseudo intellectual art majors drooling over it analyzing it like it actually means something.
so are you saying that custom building your own instrument and learning to play the shit out of it isnt creative? id like to see you give that thing a try.. i know i certainly wouldnt be any good..
You're only half right. If you know anything about music you can break the machine down and, yes, it is quite simple. A looping peddle hooked up somehow and a couple bass strings on pvc piping with some buttons that he can push to achieve a specific sound. To top that off he has a kick drum, a symbol, and a stomp box. I am sure I am missing some things but you get the idea...
WAIT, that's not simple at all...
Jackass. Know what you're talking about or you just sound like an idiot!
