I use the Yeti for my acoustic guitar and singing. I use the stereo mode and play totally unpugged. I like the stereo mode for play back on my home stereo speakers. The sound is so good that it looks overdubed, but it is all one take recordings with webcam and yeti. Please check out my channel for the stereo sound, and I encourage that you use headphones or high quality audio.

It has both stereo and cardioid (one direction) for your needs if you want your voice to sound whichever way you want. The AT2020 is about the same price, with slightly less quality, and only has cardioid.

Depends entirely on what you want to record. Generally speaking if you get a decent SM57 mic that should be able to do whatever you want it to do. I'm guessing that's going to be the case however as your question was too vague to really give you any real suggestions.

USB microphones are as fantastic as regular mics.

Only thing is, the sound card decides how crystal clear the microphone actually is. Some sound cards are CRAP in my opinion.
