@surredneck66 When cars are sitting for a long time, if seedsfall in the engine / trunk space or any holes in the floor, the tree will grow, saw it happen with an el camino, the truck was at about my head's height, about 6 feet, and by that I mean the bottom.
this reminds me of an abandoned salvage yard i came across back in the early 90's i went up to the house and asked what the plan was for the cars .he actually told me if i had some way to get them i could have them! There was about half dozen late 60's era muscle cars, some late 50's sedans and some that were just junky 80' econo boxes.I cam back a week later with three trucks and soem friends, and the lady told me the guy had the cars crushed ovr the weekend, and was moving to FL.Sad day =[
Cool slideshow!!! When I've seen old cars on the back of a flatbed truck headed for the scrap yard I have often wondered what was the story behind them.Like who owned them?were they somebody's first car? It is kinda sad knowing the cars were once brand spanking new and now some will be crushed to make a home appliance. I guess the lucky ones will be recycled and who knows maybe become part of the next big collector car in the future!!
I feel bad for these cars some of them looked like they were in a accident a long time back then and they were just thrown away I remember walking through a junkyard to come across a 69 firebird convertable had the 400 badges on it to the quater was caved in on the driverside could of been fixed but the car had to have been sitting there since 79 thats when it was last inspected
@joetyner I got to be honest, there are some cars that are crap here, look at 0:51, what is it? but i agree with the Chevrolet Camaro thing. I would put a NASCAR grade engine in that!! :) =)
This is really sad to see these cars just go to waste, Ime kind of glad I dont know whare places like this are cause i'd go broke tryin to buy evrything!
what a shame it angers me to know that people on purpose just let these cars sit there and rot knowing that tons of people would love to own anyone of these cars even in there current condition what a shame and shame on you owners of these beautiful machines
There were two 65 Impalas in the video. That breaks my heart. It's like we don't see many '65 Biscaynes and Belairs in those graveyards, mostly Impalas...
I guess the Bissies and Belairs have all been squashed...
really? Belairs are slow huh? my grandpa just built a 57 belair with a LS6 blown and runnin nitrous ..... the car runs 10.69 and is still street legal not real slow to me... but i will agree on the ugly part Im a mopar man my self lol
@johnmantim oh really?... not only is that car's lines, chrome, and styling timeless, but it could be ordered with a 327, and in the 60s people made incredible hot rods out of them. you sound like one of those tuner lovers... you know tuners: the cars that ruined motor sports in this great country... well i can assure you that 9/10 times a belair will be able to kick your tuners ass, because the belair was built in the era when cars had balls. today cars don't have any balls, or timeless looks
@johnmantim I don't care if they're like that. If you have one in mint condition I would exchange it to you for my modern 2005 Mazda 6 diesel that I've got filmed in my youtube channel. I do prefer one of those slow and ugly cars you say instead a modern one. Why I didn't buy one? (maybe you'll be asking) because in Spain, where I live those jewels are expensive and highly wanted by american car lovers as me.
I would love to get my hands on some of those tooo,, but Im not body or mechanically inclined,,,,with todays labor rate at mechanics and body shop,, its cost me a fortune just to have the body straightened out, and another fortune to make it mechanically sound! its like, ok, we (shop quote) straightend out the hood,,thatd be 3,000.00
Thats just real sad that those cars are just sitting there with next to nothing for a future. If I had the money I would use all my time to restore some of these 4 wheeled wonders.
Trees grow the car was sitting there a long time like 30 years or more and a tree seedlin grows into a big one after 30 years picks up the car during growing sperts after all that time its way up in the tree pretty amazing what time will do .
I love Depeche Mode, and Johnny Cash is awesome. Depeche Mode seemed to me to be a Christian-like band,,, with a few CD's they did, no matter what others might say. Johny Cash seems to have really gottin into Christ his last years,,, his last song, 'hurt' you can tell. Thanks!
