It has limit, but often this limits are removed. ZXR 400 should cut the air 210 km/h (unfurtanetly it's max without crossing red line) with no problem. I know that this little devil is really fast. For first bike is good, but only when you're brain doesn't reminds peanut, coz such power for a start, isn't a child's play.
this old mechine can reach 220km/h now (when running down a slope..200 is the max when going up a slope)...i installed a 1331 CDI and added 3 more degree on the ignition timing advance...much more acc.
Yeah, i know, jus didn't mention it. Unfurtanetly, i heard that to much power can couse really big damage to the engine, especialy when you extending it. I heard too about some guy who upgraded his ZXR400. After half an hour doing wheele, engine has just burst (blown up). (ps. sorry for my eng)
I've heard there is a way to remove the rev limiter by tampering with the speedo... you ZXR 400 owners might wanna look that up, I believe it was posted on the ZXR World website...
it is not a good way saying by the website...i suggest that buy a imported version CDI (non-japanese version IGN control unit) or input 1V to the pink wire conected to the CDI after cutting the pink wire~ if the Voltage up to 2.5V, it will cut the rev.
the ideal setup is to get the SP CDI - as this has a lovely adjustment that adjust retard just slightly....leaves a nice burble. Suppose to give more horsepower, but i dont know about that. In terms of going past 180 - stuff that down gear them to 180 its way more fun then (and keeps up with 750+ cc bikes)
Is this ok for an 18 year old guy?
