I loved this man as a Teacher as friend and by far the reason I moved to the San Francisco Art Institute from the priggish Maryland Institute College of Art. Im grateful for the few times he let me in his life and his studio. He and Dick Diebenkorn are the the only reasons I moved to the Bay Area and tried to become one of the Bay Area Artists, though 50 years younger than they were. They are all gone now but my memories of their advice and many drinks of wine are among the best. Thanks Nate
